sorry if I misunderstand I just got myself a Gi-9000 and I love it but what is rooted? does that mean stuffed or erased the memory? I have lots of apps do I have to backup first and if so how is the best way to do this? I have paid apps as well.

@737flyguy rooted means you can install apps that need special root acsess to run which allows them to get acsess to parts of you phones operating system that is normally out of reach

I have an OLED screen on my Samsung Jet... and yeah one time I was watching videos in the dark and normally you can see the black bars above and bellow but with this screen the black was so black that all I could see was the video it was as if the phone didn't exist just the video.

Its really bright when it has to be and really dark when it has to be.

I was thinking of buying a used Samsung Galaxy S because I just want to review Apps on my youtube channel. So will the Samsung Galaxy S boot up with out cellphone service?

I bought a used HTC Droid Incredible and the Verizon people told me that the phone wont work unless you have service. I went on youtube and looked up HTC root and found a video hold down the power button and reboot. And now the HCT is a iPod Touch and I also do this with Samsung Galaxy S?

All I do is reboot, and Iv'e got my old un-rooted phone.

To everyone having problems...I had peoblems too because some i9000 don't let you go in recovery mode no matter how hard you try, in that case you need a pc to do it. but before you screw up something there's a easy away! go the market and search lagfix, will do everything for you, Root,especial user and lag fix and everything can be undone again. benchmark is twice the nexus 2.2. If was allready one of world best phones now is the faster...

The colors and super amoled display is by fact more efficient and better then retina display. But including to that, it's only preference on which they prefer, i personally like the samsung vibrant screen as it has 65million colors, crystal clear blacks and more. I'd have to say that the OS for apple is a little bit smoother, but not as customizable even when jail broken. Both work smoothly but OS just seems more refined as it doesn't bug up and everything pops out like a cartoon

but i have a problem. i did lagfix, and as i was stupid after that i updated to froyo 2.2, without removing th lagfix.

when the update on kies was everything smooth, till it finished and rbooted. then i got only the big S, screen, and then al black.

i tryed for 2 days to reboot with 3 buttons conb. but nothing.

so please if there is any advice or help/ solution. i wait for you answers.

@roydi1000 just wipe your phone, that should get rid of ALL the software on the phone and leave you with a fresh phone, you have to redo everything again though, but if you have already dwonloaded froyo then it may show up on your computer that you have already downloaded froyo

Yeah the iphone4 does have a camera on the front too but it f***** needs a wifi connection to do a video call and even like that Apple makes is TV advertments based on video calls features!!! is the F***** world getting blind???

Me and my wife got a I9000 for each one with free video calls and is just great it works thrue the H network conection speed like perfect and even when it drops to a 3g connection on bad areas the video call still on very easly!

Put that on a IP4...

@JustUsGamers Did you root yu phone first because you must root before doing the lag fix. If you did root then you can boot into recovery mode and do wipe data which should help. If you have no luck with that just message me and ill try and help best as i can

unfortunately, I got chipped with the "batch" that cant load recovery nor download mode. :( I was already getting ready to root/lagfix, read the instructions over and over then the moment of truth... couldnt enter recovery mode :( apparently, it isnt an uncommon "bug"

mate i got the same one, and i found a way around it, there is a video on youtube, that states how to enter recovery mode, and shows 3 ways to do it, one is via pc, installin sme stuff, which i did, and i ssucesfully rooted and fix lagged, my Three uk Galaxy S, im so delighted with this phone, ive had and tried iphones, but galaxy s KICKS ASS in my opinion... fire away if u cant do it... ill help if possible...

Hey gpayas, i just got one of these phone and its charging for the FIRST TIME right now and even though it shows on the battery display its fully charged (its only been charging for just over an hour) so for the first charge i am a bit dubious about turning it on too soon and screwing the battery life in the future, so just "how long" should the first charge be?

If you have this phone the best way to root and lagfix your handet is to download and follow RyanZa's one click lag fix app which you can get in android market place. V easy to use and follow.

please make sure before you try the lag fix that you are rooted first. Many people have tried this method and its worked without any problems. If you encounter problems try booting back into recovery mode and restting the phone back to default and try again.

The file manager that does the same job as astro is called my files on the galaxy. Handy not having to install a seperate program.

The lag fix makes a partition that the system uses as a cache similar to windows 7.

Most of the lag on the galaxy is caused by widgets that access the internet a lot. The lag fix does help with the system lag but you still get a bit like i said with lots of widgets but its not to much of a problem as the iphone with ios 4 lagged a bit.

The benchmark is a big plus point for me. 800 to over 2000 is a big jump and the games show it. The 3d games are smooth and fast with excellent framerate.
