  • I've got a remaster of the original 1985 mix on my channel. I've also got the original 1st pressing on vinyl and will probably rip that and redo my remaster based on that. But yeah, you all should check it out. It's clearer, less muddy, more highs, less mids and lows (The lows were the loudest part on there, almost nothing in the highs!). Although, its not from the best source, and I'll probably have to fix it soon.

  • you gotta realize though that dave , junior , poland , and gar were broke drug addicts so thats why the productions so bad

  • Neverdead was awesome but i think he wrote it because its for a game and was just for fun instead of praising black magic like er,ier songs. And i saw megadeth play rattlehead last year and it was awesome.

  • I prefer the Mechanix because it is really the essence of thrash to me, which is what it should be. The Four Horsemen, like you said, just takes way too long to get to the point and personally after you listen to the Mechanix, the Four Horsemen loses so much to it.

  • The part of Mechanix and the four horsemen that you were talking about is actually not a gallop, it's the next part thats a gallop. A gallop is basically a triplet. But i think mechanix is a better song just because it's faster, it's a trash metal song.

  • The part where dave mustaine sings "ooh" in the beginning of the songs is to make it sound more creepy, to me it's pretty successful at what it's meant to do. This is an excellent album, 10/10 for me

  • One would be hard-pressed to find a song with an intro that has the intensity and KO capacity of torque as Skull Beneath The Skin. That would probably be my favorite track on the album.

  • As for the neverdead thing, I think he justifies it as its based on content from the game and not from his religion. Still a bit daft though.

  • For me its mechanix and its purely based on intensity! Riffing sounds more crushing. L.

  • The Four Horsemen has that interlude section that really screws up the feeling for me. Lyrically, I dig that one more. However, despite the crappy production, I dig the over all sound and mix of The Mechanix. Reissue is great though I still don't dig the drum mix. Overall, I prefer the Mechanix, the tempo, drumming and tone just works better. Looking forward to this discography review!

  • looking down the cross is the best song on the album i perfer mecanix because it's shorter

  • mechanix is better to me too and i agree with you the same reasons you stated. Plus mechanix lyrics though funny are more realistic then a song about a fictional bible story of the Apocalypse plus the speed the intensity of the music the solo is way more aggressive.

  • @JoJoQwenty Just because you believe its fictional doesn't mean it is :) Ps i like the Mechanix more but i wish the production was better, that being said i like both songs.

  • @darkedgekilla i don't believe i know its fiction the Apocalypse more religious scare tactics plain and simple. Their two ways you can hear this song theirs our way and theirs there way. For those who think this is their way this song is called the mechanix.

  • @JoJoQwenty I'm not scared lol. also i forgot to ask, is the 2004 version of the Mechanix actually remastered? I didn't hear much of a difference other then he doesn't scream "Fuck Yeah!"
