  • are u guys gay ?? serious this vid suks

  • The sauce isnt made with honey ... and the baklava is cut before cooking. If not when you put the hot syrup not everywhere in baklava gets it even. And if you cut after putting the syrup the dough looses crustyness, if you cut it after cooking nd before syrup the dough will be tore into pieces as it is too crusty. So its always cut befoer putting into owen.

  • i live in bulgaria and we're like neighbours with turkey so we eat baklava really often

!...and u can find it everywhere and it's pretty cheap!...^^ ...i love it!..

  • uh oh, you touched your face and continued w/ the dough! Big NO!

  • @URcheznous You dont even know how many times a waiter spit in your plate or a cook touched your meat after scratching under his pants so...

  • whats the difference between phyllo dough and filo dough??????

  • @HinderIsSteph124 The spelling...

  • It's better to make it from scratch, but omg so much sugaaaaaaaaar in the authentic baklava it burns my tongue.

    It's yummy too ^_^

  • umm, you were suppose to cut it into pieces before putting it in the oven. :)

  • Точно така се прави балава!!! Тоя от ляво си гурка в носа и ще му ям баклавата как ли не!!! А на всичко отгоре тя не трчбва да хрубка!!! (puke)

  • It seems, dear Sinan feels so homesick:) Although I am far from home like you, I have had a chance to eat original baklava in Imam Cagdas' in Gaziantep/Turkey.

  • You say now wayy too much! Oh and a little suggestion. Since you guys don't really need two ppl to cook why not have the other film?

  • @jaguarkang as you can see, we have some else who films. this was our first ever episode; you can see with future ones, we both share equal involvement. dont hate

  • thats not a lemon, thats a yellow orange!

  • Why is Sinan only doing the work? Gosh let Ralph do something, don't just let him get stuff for you. You have your own hands to get stuff for yourself. Sinan don't hog, share. Lets just hope Ralph helps out more in the other videos.

  • the best baklawa making video on youtube thanks alot

  • I make mine by a recipe an old Greek lady

    taught me ...

Instead of walnuts ... cashew & pistachio

    about 90 % cashew ... & 10 % pistachio ...

    & honey ... no sugar

otherwise it's the same recipe ...

I'm not saying ... yours is wrong in any way .

That is just the way I was taught to make it ...

But OMG ... it is not cheap to make & bake !!! ...

    Bo

  • make your own filo dough, dont be such amatuers.

  • learn how 2 spell amateur; dont be so ignorant

  • you can't say that unless you make/farm your own ingredients.

  • i love this recipe! thanks for the video!!!

  • baklava's homeland is gaziantep/turkiye for all the world. and unfortunately baklava was stolen by greeks too. as so many other turkish foods or traditions.

  • Non vedo l'ora di gustarlo sotto l'elmo di Skanderberk!!! te dua zemer!!!

  • The dampened cloth ensures that the sheets don't dry.

  • Nothing beats home-made baklava.

  • this is a joke right. do not call that baklava please.

  • thank you brothers as its ramadan i will be making this to open my fast thank you have explained it so easy

  • unbelievable, super cool, modern editing! Grandma Sylvia sends her two thumbs up!

  • yeah i really wonder why greek ppl think baklava is turkish when baklava means sweet in turkish, bit doesnt mean anything in greek! so i guess now everyone wonders where its really from huh?

  • bakklava is arabic dish:)

  • wait but why dont you make the dough hand made instead of buying it because once you make the dough hand made it is more fresh

  • Cuz it's extremely difficult to make Phyllo dough. Even professional chefs and bakers don't bother with the extensive process. It's far more convenient buying it premade, and the results can be just as good.

  • True. But the taste is better.

My mom never buys it. She always make it with the hand.

We made it a several days ago. It was difficult, but the taste was damn good.

Besides, instead of buying Phyllo dough, you can buys special dough for baklava in the Turkish store.

  • That's cool. It'd be great if someone posted a vid on how to make phyllo dough from scratch. I'm sure there are a lot of folks (including myself) that would love to make it. Maybe you could ask your mom to make a vid. :) Best folks to learn cooking from are the mothers and grandmothers.

  • Maybe. First I have to ask my mom. I don't think she would like it, if her face was shown on Youtube, hehe.

Turkish women know the best recipe for baklava!

  • ok I am from turkey and I no how to make Bakalava

  • its a turkish dish from the byzantine era

  • @TrGuzeli87 Baklava is a MEDITERANEAN delicacy, it is noted in the general region, not specifically one country, and it is ancient !! Happy Trails !!

  • @chivone21 So wrong you are. Baklava is Middle easter and Arabic only historically. Under Ottoman empire it has spread on occupied countries like Greece. Baklava is an originally Arabic food spread by Ottomans on a much larger Geography. Please keep your cheap knowledge for yourself.

  • @tocateur C'mon dude....Do you have to be so rude? What's your point?

  • baklava is so turkish...

  • what in the fuck did any of that mean.

  • it is normal that greeks start a dogfight when ever they see something bout turkey coz they were slaves of turks for 500 years....

  • baklava is originally assyrian it is first made in damascus.but turks have developed it really good. baklava is not greek..even feta cheesese is not greek it is macedonian.

  • Who gives a shit where it's from? As long as it tastes good, just eat the bloody thing and enjoy it! How sad is it to argue about where it's from? Everyone makes it! Chinese food is from China, yet we al eat it and lick our lips!

  • Actually Chinese Food in america is only slightly based on genuine chinese food from china. American chinese food is in fact american cuisine, being mostly developed in america.

  • GOOD YOB BOYS !

  • its wrong!!!!!!!!

  • it looks yummy!!

  • How many ounces are in the twin pack? I want to get the proportions right if I'm gonna make it. Also, I've seen it done by cutting the raw baklava (after the final layer of Phyllo dough has been added), spreading butter over all of it, baking it, then pouring the sauce over it so it goes into the cut areas.

  • A twin pack is 16 ounces. Also, we recommend cutting the raw Baklava before baking just as you said. Thanks for your interest!

  • baklava is Lebanese sweets/deserts. everyone just stole it from Lebanon

  • If you watch the video response, you'll discover that it's TURKISH. Scientific references confirm this. Anyway - this forum is not the place to discuss its origin.

  • read wikipedia before say your shit. Baklava has been Turkish since Turks lived in Central Asia. Also we have gullaç which is the ancient version of baklava. We have a history timetable of baklava's evolution in the Turkic people. What does lebanon or greece have? nothing!

  • We are not defending our country. Go and read some history books. Your claims just rely on rumor. Turkish Baklava has a peerless taste.

  • wow!??!? how did making baklava get into turks "grabbing asses like a bunch of faggs" ... anyway thanks for this vid! i can't wait to make some baklava!!
