ONLY buy Carhartt clothes that actually WERE "Made in USA" - before their corporate punks STABBED us in the back! THANK YOU! Get 'em while they last guys at: allusaclothing(DOT)com
"...just shake their hand." For WHAT?? Buying from a company that ABANDONED our country for the sake of bigger PROFITS and GREED?? What a load of crap! You screw your AMERICAN workers out of jobs, so you can pay un-human "blood wages" in CHINA, or some other anti-labor regime. Then ship back to the USA and market as an "Iconic" AMERICAN brand? Talk about DECEPTIVE advertising! There ought to be a LAW! Drop dead.
I know all my Carhartt stuff is NOT made in America, From my Snap on Carhartt, to my Duck pants, to my Duck hoody jacket....I dont even want to check the tag on my winter hat.....And not even a "Everyday Icon" for a auto mechanic? WTF you guys are out of touch with who wears your stuff. If your showing blue collar SHOW blue collar not churched up people all clean and inside. Show me the worn out cuffs and faded yellow jackets. THATS AMERICA!
With a closet full of carhartt clothing and barely any of it made in the USA, don't sell yourself to me as a company that supports the american worker. The only thing carhartt is concerned about it their bottom line. It's a shame a company will give away american jobs to create a larger profit margine, never mind it's this country they were able to operate in profitable for over a 100 years. You want to produce goods outside of this country fine, but don't sh*t in my hand and call it pudding.
@eyp83 THAT'S OK,when people in the USA don't have the money to buy the non- quality bull$#!T because they shipped all the jobs overseas...let's see what the profit margin is then!!!!
John Smith started the day early, having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6 am.
While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG), and put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA).
After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA), he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO), to see how much he could spend today.
After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA), he got in his car (MADE IN JAPAN), filled it with GAS (from SAUDIA ARABIA) to continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.
At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (made in MALAYSIA), John decided to relax for a while.
He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL), poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA),
Me and my cousin Larry his wife and son all got new Carharrts they are all made in America from American components so stop spreading rumors people that they are outsourcing.
Ya, received a shirt as a gift, made in bangladesh. never buy carhartt ever again. They give 2 shits about the American worker, but it sounds good for sales. Everyone make sure you let them know how you feel
It's really ironic to me that Carhartt features hardworking Americans in this commercial, when in fact they are taking away jobs from hardworking Americans by manufacturing their goods in foreign countries. Pretty messed up.
all my carhartt stuff except for my new winter hat say made in the USA, i agree we should start making things in the USA again, bring in jobs for everyone, it would indeed help the economy.
I had a need for some hand clamps, and I guess "pony" has become the generic term for them. So I ordered what I thought was a set of "official" Pony clamps from Amazon, but what I got were cheap Made in China clamps. I sent them back, and ordered Jorgensen Pony clamps, made in USA, and only 5 bucks more. But try finding an 8" tool grinder made in the USA. The difference in cost is quite high.
@pmcload Good observation! About 25 years ago I bought a 6" shop vise from Sears it is a Craftsman Made in USA. Good luck finding a vise made in US, I dont know if Wilton even does, they were a higher end US brand. All of my craftsman tools are US made, even the scoket rails/holders! My son and I were in the craftsman store and a lot of the tools had the US flag on the boxes BUT it is a trick, most of it is from overseas.
I just saw this commercial last night, and thought the message was great....until I got to this thread and read about Carhartt being made overseas, That's really too bad, and yes, hypocritical. I should also point out that most of the tools being shown in the commercial....anglegrinders, drill presses, welders, sledge hammers, trowells, etc. are also probably made in Taiwan or China.
I try to buy American when I can, but it's often at twice the price; that needs to change...heavily tax imports.
@pmcload I love my ridgid tools... I pay twice the price but they have a lifetime no questions warranty... Too bad Mexico is so much "Better" for companies than the U.S. :(
Hey all, I have some Dickies work shirts that I really like and just looked at the tags and sadly they were made in Honduras/Nicaragua. Closer than China but Not USA. It really pissed me off when I see sooooo much stuff that with American-know-how we can easily build here and with our superior production CAN make a profit.
This commercial is disgusting. The only Carhartt products I have found Made in the USA were made years ago before they shipped american jobs to other countries. This commercial just reminds me to tell more people that Carhartt is not made here any more. Contacted Carhartt about commercial when i saw it and still no response.
I own a Carhart, just bought a new one infact, as they shut down the american factory so I had to buy one now to have the american made verity. I think you will find that this comercial is about American Pride. Which also means that it is no longer true, As my hands will never pull a carhart over my sholders that doesn't say "MADE IN THE USA" on the tag. They can kiss my American (union line covered) buttocks right along with Levi's and Woolrich as they are not made here any more either.
I think the larger picture is nearly everything is outsourced. No one in the USA wants to make/build anymore. We push our kids to be cubicle-sheep. I was eleven when I smashed my thumb with a hammer for the first time building something for a wage. We are just a nation of consumers and shoppers now. We have lost our way and despite the hyprocracy of this company as well as those like Craftsman tools this commercial makes me sad.
@ChrisLeeOnTV yeah but they discontinued all USA amnufacturing ... in the next year or so there will be nothing in stores that is USA made ... good thing is, we have the internet, I just bought a few pairs of round house workwear and texas jeans and they were made in USA and they were cheaper and better! Boycott Carhartt!
Proud to be an American wearing a Carhartt shirt, made in Dominican Republic. LOL. You've got to be kidding me. I like the shirts but don't give me this we are American commercial. Make it better. Make it, Made in the U.S.A.
Every since this country started hiring Mexicans that take advantage of our system and hate America/Americans everthing went down hill. They don't care at all about the U.S. that's why they drive around flying Mexican flags in our faces. So if all the companies that stayed here in the U.S. are filled with Mexicans half assing everything because the companies want to save a few bucks then the product we put out will continue to suffer. "You get what you pay for." Buy American/HIRE American.
@mbrittingham28 they were until they fired all American workers, shipped manufacturing over seas and mexico, at a much cheaper wage and risked loosing that 10% of us that cared b/c their profit would gain a measly 5 % ... and then bent us over, pulled down our pants and stuck this commercial up our butt ... Carhartt is no longer a great product- period!
I have always worn Carhartt, but I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED to find out that It is not made in the USA. This commercial is very misleading. You are using the fact that Carhartt was started in the USA to blindfold the American people about what has happened. CHECK the labels, where was your Carhartt made?

@ghosthunter202 some products are, but they began outsourcing a few years ago and they now mix inventory so that retailers cannot specifically ask for "made in USA" product only. I am boycotting Carhartt until they stop outsourcing and spreading the word, this ad disgusts me.

My next Carhartt purchase will be when/if their factories return to the USA. The hypocrisy of this commercial is jaw dropping.
It's a shame that once the Carhartt fad is over, they will have lost the loyal customer base that built their brand to what it is today.
