  • nothing less than fantastic

  • Its a good cover--doesn't blow away the original, but Linda gives her own interpretation and doesn't try to copy Holly--makes the song her own--that's why its lasted.

  • Every cover she ever did was better than the original. Sold more records than any other female and most men in the 70's and still not in the Rock N Roll HOF!

  • @norby0418 Better than Buddy Holly on this one? Come on, She's good but Buddy does it as only Buddy can.

  • @norby0418 Yeah it's a disgrace. Linda was the most versatile singer of her generation and could sing all these wannabe's now right off the stage.

  • I think that Buddy Holly would've liked this version very much. Mrs. Ronstadt never fails to do a good cover of a classic tune. I like it, anyway.

  • Nobody but Linda could equal the original, Buddy Holly, on this fantastic rocker. What a voice. For my money, she tops the originals of Heat Wave and When Will I Be Loved.

  • I used to masturbate to her Rolling Stone cover, she's a Goddess :-)

  • @apollion888 Thank you for sharing that.

  • The sexiest woman who ever lived!!!!

  • I bet Buddy Holly had a hard-on in his grave every time she did this tune! Damn fine job, always, Linda!

  • The late, great Andrew Gold took the second guitar solo.

  • Andrew Gold and Wady Watell on guitar...great concerts

  • yahoooooooo..

  • I cant view the videos....is youtube having problems too or is it just me?

  • I love her versions of this when she sings those high octave chorus lines, ala 1:48 and 1:56. She nailed them here. Sorta thing that even the band member got chills over I bet. Waddy is one lucky dude to have played with her so much, and get paid to do so!

  • @jf21557 then he went w/ Stevie Nicks and to this day is her touring guitarist and band leader.. not bad..

  • I mis the Cub scout shirt but shes awesome anyways!!!!!!!!!

  • What a beautiful woman - what a wonderful voice - simply great !

  • She could've dressed in trash bag in the 70's and still looked good! She had a unique ability to take other people's songs and make them her own.

  • Imagine that. A hot woman on stage with no 30 backup dancers and lip syncing. And not dressed as a complete hoe but rather sexy but tasteful. Man i miss the 70's.

  • @dsfddsgh With a solid set of musicians backing her up.

  • @dsfddsgh I agree. Imagine a voice with that much talent and soul and she has the audacity to be pretty. I've been in love since 1967.

  • Waddy and Andrew Gold as gunslingers .... what a dangerous Duo !!!

  • Thanks for all the uploads, PretzelFarmer.

Linda is my favorite female artist of all time. So much power, emotion, range. Oh, and beautiful to boot. Check out her expressions from 1:35-1:50. I don't think I've ever seen her so loose and comfortable. The cute sneer at 1:37 is the best.

Check out her expressions from 1:35-1:50Just priceless.

  • Andrew Gold on the guitar

  • Thank you.

  • I didn´t watch this on tv because I didn´t know "Rockpalast" in 1976.

The first great Rockpalast expierience was the Night in July 77, when Rory got the party started!

Thans for posting this event presented by the great WDR

  • Good performance.
