The Bazouki is GREEK! I await the Greek Uilleann pipes with interest. If the Irish can push this as a traditional instrument its fair the Greeks do the same.
all stringed/lute traditional instruments are relevant and come from a family if you do your reseach. everyone knows the bAzouki is greek but this is like a turk coming on to profess the saz or a guitar player trying to argue the case of a banjo. let the man enjoy his instrument and play. you've obviously give up.
I never played the thing as it sint a traditional instrument and is as Irish as a Chicago pizza when it comes to music. Regarding your point you dont get Turks calling a banjo the Turkish banjo so why do people try to steal the ethnic identity of another instrument. If the greeks did this to the celtic instruments there would be an outcry. Its all in the context of the name and this instrument is not Irish.
do u dont have any better things to do then to bitch about irish bouzokis on youtube?
"steal the ethnic identity of another instrument"
as i wrote on the other video its called musical evolution. if everyone in history was as dumb as you there wouldent be any musical evolution, and no greek bouzouki..
Please refer to: "The Irish Bouzouki" By Niall O'Callanain/Tommy Walsh. This gives you a grounding on the Bouzouki. Tunings can be: GDAE' - GDAD'OR ADAD'. Hope this helps.
Great man! I love the Blarney Pilgrim one. Do you know the Andy Irvine version? I think he made the lyrics himself and I tried to look them up via Google, but didn't find it.
It also sounds very nice with Bouzouki and Tinwhistle!
Anyone else notice this sounds like the Irish Party in Third Class by Gaelic Storm?
