In Tales of Symphonia, if you do a certain mini-quest, it says that Yuan was engaged to Martel.

No it does say engaged, he dropshis ring when he's outside the inn and if you give it tohim later you find out they were engaged.

I see where those crazy Yaoi lovers are coming from when they think those two of a thing. The end part where Kratos asks if Yuan'd rather be with martel, he had that look on his face. Made him look envious of Martel or something. But theres only like three whole facial expressions for Kratos and he's used that one a lot, nevermind I believe he was just trying to poke fun at Yuan.

(*shrugs*) I don't *personally* see it, but then, I'm not into Kratos/Yuan. Many fans of a given pairing (and this goes for me too!) will see whatever they like and interpret it in favor of that pairing. I'm sure a Yuan/Martel fan would be gushing over how Yuan constantly blushes over to her, just as he does in response to Kratos' retort to that comment you quoted.
