If you go to UFCs website and go to the Learn UFC tab (on the top right), then click Rules in the drop down box, there is a list of over 31 rules of things you can not use in a MMA fight. NONE OF THESE RULES APPLY IN A STREET ATTACK. I have trained both and while MMA style training is awesome & really tough, YOU ARE STILL TRAINING FOR A SPORTING ENVIRONMENT. Its a different mind-set.
@dlsmithy At the end of the day it really depends if you can take a hit or not. The majority of people have a weak and untrained chin and will drop if you tap it.
Lol thats like saying No one will shank you in real life. haha, Im know a sport fighter wont stop a couple of gunmen. And what the hell is UFC style fighting?
@rctrue I don't believe he was Hatsumis top american student, Steven Hayes was stilla round then. And he left because he felt the esoteric beliefs wern't compatible with his Cristian faith. He left with a 3rd or 4th Dan.
@Jissenka He was a student of Nagato Sensei, I believe. He did not take the godan test and rose to yondan somewhat quickly. However, at that time, Hatsumi sensei was trying to build an organization and was promoting people who showed some talent quickly. He was also studying directly in Japan.
He did not take the godan test, because he felt it was spiritualism that did not fit with his brand of Christianity. So, he never received a teaching license.

@darezaa Busseys top student won UFC 3. At UFC 2 the ufc awarded Bussey the "king of combat" award. do your research before you talk.
rctrue 2 years ago 2
@rctrue Wasn't James Rosenbach bussey's top student and best friend IIRC
Jissenka 1 year ago
Jissenka you are correct. Rosenbach still teaches and has a fight team. He knows what hes doing for sure;

kdkinen 3 years ago
No one holds a weapon like that. it way to exposed. Not enough control after the recoil or while changing aim direction.
