It looks really cool but it's hard to hit the pinky at the right time. Also commenting on how people think you'll cut yourself. The worst I have managed to do is pinch my finger on the tang. Iv been using balisongs for a while now. Iv cut myself more on fixed blade knives.

Why does everyone think you can cut your fingers off? The worst you can do is try and catch the blade as it's falling. That or it can stab you. But without aerials or dropping it you'll only get minor cuts.

@MrFakegold depends on the situation. if i was going to a switchblade convention, i'd bring the switchblade. if i was going to do some flipping practice , i'd use the bali'. for combat, neither is preferred, both have key disadvantages switchblades are weak, bali are hard to open correctly when you're calm (let alone when you're stressed. like in combat). i'd probably just choose the gun

its not really the explaining, you just need to build up muscle memory with the way the knife is going to behave then it will get easier to learn, keep practicing!!

i had raw knuckles and probably around 30 cuts from these knives but after a while i got pretty good! now i sharpen mine weekly to make myself do better!

sorry i meant to reply to this sooner but i guess i forgot. one of my balisong friends is left handed as well and he also has difficulty with this move. just make sure when you start, the bite handle should be on the left side (and also in your hand) and the safe handle should be on the right. other than that just try to follow the things i do in the video. hope that helps you
