  • it s verry easy to show how to practice but I CAN tell you it s really différent un the reality.i Will be surprise if this guy's able to do in the reality...

  • pretty cool and effective, techniques that work!

  • I see some Ninjutsu principles, very practical

  • Comment removed

  • Wow that fucker is FAST.

  • damn. I bet he goes through a lot of demo guys...

  • cool

  • can i try this? i already got the victim ( I mean partner) picked out.LOL He just doesn't know it yet.

  • I wonder how many "sparing" partners this guy go's through?

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker Mr. McCann's fighting methods are not designed for ring combat, but rather for street fighting and intense self-defense situations. Check out his book for more info:

    b l a c k b e l t m a g . c o m / c o m b a t i v e s

  • @BlackBeltLLC Leave him alone, he's just a raper/UFC/naruto teenager

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker

So tell me why you the instructor would get torn to shreads??? The demo looks prety damn accurate/effective to me.

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker I read your comment and can only say.....your handle says it all....you need to change it to CrackSmoker....McCann is like a coiled rattlesnake...i dare say his intense speed would take anybody out...ring or no ring!

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker Lol i see somes projecting their insecurities

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker ya sports an survival are in diferent worlds

  • is that boy he uses as his dummy IN SERIOUS PAIN? or is it just me?

  • @Scharfschutze1972 Mr. McCann's training partner gets beat up quite a bit... and sometimes he *is* in "serious pain." Trust us. We were there.

  • seriously thought the demo guy died at the end of the video

  • @davic14 LOL. No, Mr. Stradley is a live and well... to the best of our knowledge, at least.

  • my defence against a knive is a gun

  • @han0509 that would be spelled knife.

  • @HYBRIDCOMBATIVES yes v is near f so

  • this could work if your attacker has that baby one inch knife but if he actually has a real knife you whole range thing is going to get fucked up and u will be killed

  • Funny, I got trained by an ACTUAL LEO, not some old dude selling DVD's. Try that with a PCP suspect... that old man will be in the coroners table laying naked with his eyes open while getting a toe tag that says "Jhon Doe, Cause of death: dumbass."

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker Do you know who Kelly McCann is?

  • Stop resisting...stop resisting...stop resisting...stop resisting!

    :-)

  • martial arts fantasy

  • Go easy on your uke eh! For fucksake it's a "demo"

  • there needs to be videos on how to protect ourselves from brainwashed cops

  • Just split him in the face and kick his balls out to his mouth

  • Owned.

  • It's called body hardening folks. If you don't know what a real strike from a baton feels like, then your body is going to be shocked in a fight should you ever face one.

  • At 1:06 did anybody else want him to turn to the camera and say, "At this point, you're going to want to beat the absolute sh*t out of your attacker."

  • @relativetruth102 Consider me pre-sighned for YOUR classes.

  • u cant do that in real life lol

  • I like that he is using a stick because while it might be illegal to carry a baton its not illegal to carry a stick or an umbrella.

  • this a pure comedy show !! dnt listen to this this is NO Police tactics dnt worry and after that ppl are complaining with police brutality.. you're inducting ppl wrong remove that police tag at least fromthe title

  • lmao?? i study police @college and this is not even close of what teachers teach us lollll '' what you want to aim for is breaking bone'' just LOL

  • heheheehe and he is staying and watching to break his hand and leg and neck .... OMG these r ok just in theory man..

  • The price of this video training was... Assistant fractured neck

  • i love to use my shaft

  • i liek walrus

  • stupid, your teammate is not meant to be injured

  • @0000Jillsandwich0000 That's not always true. I live in New York state so Tasers are legal only for police officers to possess. In New Jersey not even the police are allowed to have tasers. The only states that allow tasers are really the only states that allow firearms as well. I have to rely on avoiding armed criminals as I cannot legally protect myself in NY.

  • @fbiryujin you have a weapon where ever you go. To church, to school, to the bathroom. It cant set off x-ray machines. it cant be found in a search. Police cant take it from you and it can go with you even into a jail cell. It doesnt have a clip to empty, an edge to dull, or a range limit. The only people who know you have it is you and those unfortunate to try and harm you. Train yourself. Your mind, your body. It is sad you cant arm yourself. good luck my friend.

  • @azreal289 While I am well versed in unarmed self defense, and martial arts, sometimes the situation calls for a firearm. Otherwise the police academy would soley consist of Tae Kwan Do, or Krav Maga classes. Criminals with guns go after people without guns. You can't disarm someone standing 5+ feet out of your reach, but you can throw your wallet over 5ft and get shot so you can't finger the guy. I'd rather be able to fight crime by shooting back.

  • @0000Jillsandwich0000 Not entirely true. More and more muggers are killing the people they rob so that they avoid getting "fingered" later. They'd rather commit murder than serve a year in jail. I've read how bad the laws are in the UK, and I feel for every citizen there. American citizens are fighting like crazy to prevent that from happening here. I just read how a girl with a gun license was raped, because she can't carry her gun at college. The rapist had a gun though. :(

  • is the knife guy a emo?

  • erm no .... every guy who will knife you he will just back stab you.

He wont walk up to you saying - "yeah i gonna stab you" and give you time to take out the baton which you forgot home.

  • poor jack

  • Slow motion should b good. 2 fast

  • don't mess with middle aged men with their shirts tucked into their jerry seinfeld jeans.

  • holy f*ck that was amazing ty for the vid!

  • @AlbertChyn More where this came from. Check out b l a c k b e l t m a g . c o m for more videos from Mr. McCann and a whole slew of other artists. Traditional, reality-based, Israeli military, MMA... we've got it all!

  • fucking poor man

  • Yes, yes, use potentially lethal force against an opponent that you supposedly just disabled.... it's the American Way!

  • @nimbleline Until you are in a situation where someone threatens to stab (and probably try to kill you) you will say things like that. Many people will meet deadly force (AKA a stabbing weapon) with deadly force of their own (gun/baton/knife/etc...) As a regular citizen I know I wouldn't give an attacker any chance of getting back up after he tries to kill me.

  • bad knife attaker -_-

  • poor guy he's almost crying

  • bullshit! He can cut defensor many times. It's good for movies and shows.

  • @xors85 sorry your wrong.

  • you really killed him didn't ya.. that's why you stopped the recording. :)

  • I bet he actually broke that guys neck XD

  • kewl

  • it looks like his necks broken at 1:10 listen to that crack! uhhhhh

i would hate to be kellys partner

  • @nicktheharpblower lol that was the black paper they are stepping on, if you look after he drops the guy there are rips in it

  • ...never knew Creed from the office knew how to use a baton..

  • @gunsnrosescolin2 something else he learned during the 60s

  • I agree, too close. First thing to learn is it's OK to back off and give your self some breathing room. Then you have a better chance to either retreat all together or attack.

  • What the FUCK, seriously! You're making no use of your extended range, you're WAY too close! But best of all, you even close in on the guy with the blade to get that fancy headlock on him! Man, I really hope you stay inside that cozy Dojo of yours and never get in real trouble!

  • @BenX74 He did not close in on the guy- he ended up there and simply showed a possible variation of how to deal with it. Just 1 of many possibilities that could occur. rest assured that Mccan has experiance. Go train.

  • @newtubetubetube P.S. HEY ASSCLOWN, post some videos you TROLL!!! And get a fucking life.

  • @rare232 What's an assclown?

  • lol

  • Who the hell is stupid enough to attack with such a tiny knife? Everybody knows that a knife blade has to be ATLEAST 5" to be good for attacking!

  • @airsoftguy85rocks There are plenty of vital target near the skin. An 1" blade is deadly as a 6" one. The only difference is the reach. That is important in a knife fight, but it is not the case here. The baton will always have longer reach so it do not matter. (yeah, a blade longer then a baton is no longer called a knife)

  • @airsoftguy85rocks Google news report on box cutter assault

  • ?? If someone is attacking you with a knife you cant be too concerned about their safety . You are facing your own death if you fail . It is not the same situation as someone throwing punches at you . I try to be a decent human being but if the result of you trying to stab me is you get some broken bones and I survive I would consider that a good result. I didnt start it ,hopefully .

  • ASP or Monadnock??? Which is better?

  • love the test dudes facial expressions

  • But in a fight dont people lunge and stab instead of slashing?

  • @linkathedge -- Yes, they are not nice guys, they don't stand still, they don't pause after your first move fails.

99 times out of 100 "bad guys" fight to get away.

Cops are killed by gunfire, hit by vehicle, heart attack, and falling. In 5 years I can't remember one cop being stabed to death.

Knife Defense should be about creating space and going gun or running back to your car for cover -- use your radio.

  • i feel sorry for the guy whose had to endure that. It looked like he really was trying to hurt him

  • Unless you are a professional like this guy, who walks around with a baton?

If you can carry a baton, why not carry an AK-47 everywhere you go?

  • @poitrenaud because automatic weapons are illigal, extending sticks of metal and rubber are not.

  • @thedickbutt101 I was joking!

  • Christ. This guy is some good shit.

  • all you idiots agreeing to branchingvine miss this part? 0:37

  • ur fuckin mad mate if i had that knife no way yu wud be able to dodge a stab with that baton loll

  • Nobody is paying attention.- He got rid of the knife when he broke the attacker's arm. One cannot hold anything with a broken radius. Besides, I faced two burglars trying to robe an old man with a 16" baton. I was ready to kill them. Why do you discuss about beeing too agressive? That's why they do what they want and have taken over the streets in the night. Wake up!

  • This is effective, keep up the good work!

  • This guy is good

  • the guy with the baton is way to aggressive in this training video less aggressive

  • @mike30566 if your attacker is trying to kill you with a knive i wouldnt consider the well being of my attacker either. bitch shouldnt try to stab you, so he gets beaten and sodomized with a stick...

  • @superdruid999 no the trainer in the video he hit the guy to hard

  • @mike30566 ho lol.... mabe the trainer is used to practice with this guy, for all we know he might just have a higher paintreshhold than the standard so it might be unnessesary to hold back to much. thats why my trainer usually kicks my ass like this aswell. :3

  • 21 inch? You know they make a 32 inch right?

  • Poor bastard who have to training with him.

    strikes him so bad.

"He its only trainig! We are friends!"

  • what he did there after the first attack to the arm wasnt a good idea.

the first part yes, hold the arm hurt the arm, and arm again until he drops the knife or just simply never lose control over the arm with the knife because in that throw he couldve been stabbed quite a few times.. knife attacks are brutal they are not a one time thing.

  • when he threw him down he could of like fell on the knife, luckily he didn't

  • @playerkill32 its a training knife...thats why its covered in holes

  • omg baton hurts like shit, i have being hit with baton its hurt so mutch

  • Yes break his arm fracture his leg and snap his neck... well done.

  • if i was that guy, i wouldve just stabbed him, hes such a douche :/

  • @CerealIsDaBomb you mean "i wouldve TRIEDed to just stabbed him" (retarded grammar just for you) except that douche would drop you in half a second. because some one with real skill doesnt need a pussy ass pocket knife...

  • @Acm1ptete thanks for giving me an unnecessary example of douche baggary

  • @CerealIsDaBomb ..you really don't know who this guy is? He trains JSOC guys mate..

  • @CerealIsDaBomb Stabbing is actually one of the most powerful moves with a knife, but it is also one of the most vulnerable ones, since you're projecting yourself or you arm forward, it is easy to side step and break the arm of the attacker.

  • @Junjokar easy my ass....blocking a punch is hard enough. blocking a knife is a lot harder since you don't have to put the whole weight of your body into the hit, it can be way faster ,at a higher rate, and way more unpredictable.

  • @CerealIsDaBomb it would be a shame if he asked the camera man if they could do it again, yeah he´s a douche

  • @CerealIsDaBomb U would've Tried. Not that u would've been Successful though. lol That Guy Looks like a Bad Mo-Fo. I would Suggest u not Messing with him unless u have a Gun. lol And why is he a "Douche??" He was Giving a Self Defense Demonstration. If the Assistant was a Cry Baby then I'm Sure he wouldn't have Volunteered to Assist in the Demonstration. I Know because I'm a Martial Artist myself and if I Give a Demonstration I Always Say "I Need an Assistant who isn't Afraid of a lil Pain."

  • This would totally work! But! you dont need any special training. The baton/stick gives you so much range, it doesnt require skill to win. Thats why they used alot of spears in old times

  • lol holy shit that guy getting hit wit the baton must get payed alot!

  • Hahahah ale go walił jak by nic nie czuł

  • i would hate to be mccann's assistant

  • this is a golden rule, remember when you control the head, you control the body, after you have deflected then move in for an attack, which ever way you do it, by controlling the head you control their body, twisting it around then pulling down at the same time, you bring them down for the attack, leaving them on their backs facing upwards fully open to downward striking blows, from your full body force, CONTROL THE HEAD & YOU CONTROL THE BODY !

  • You can ONLY use as much physical force as is being used against you.

  • @thatsmeokeedee NOT TRUE. It may say that on some paper a bureaucrat wrote, but look at any actual case. Weapons and being outnumbered are extreme game changers. A fist v fist, 1 v 1 is one thing but "You can only use as much PHYSICAL force as is being used AGAINST you." is a false statement in the context of actual altercations.

  • @wstraino Thats the way it is. Just because your outnumbered doesn't mean you can shoot someone. If you do you better have a damn good defense attorney. I have an associates degree in criminal justice as was taught by ex cops, police chiefs, and judges. That is the law.

  • @thatsmeokeedee I like how you only talk in extremes. That's a great debate tactic. Did you learn that in high school or college? Of course you can't start shooting people if your outnumbered and they are unarmed. Though as soon as someone wields a potentially lethal weapon against you, you're clear to fire. Most altercations don't involve firearms. You should know this from your C.J. classes... Why did you bring them up again? Oh yeah, lack of real world experience and parroting text books.

  • @wstraino Most altercations don't involve firearms? You obviously don't live near my city. Lack of real world experience? You know nothing about me so how can you assume I have never been on the wrong end of a gun. I thought that being outnumbered was an "extreme game changer". I was quoting law not real life. Sure there are extenuating circumstances BUT you better have a good attorney who can prove you were justified in your actions. Remember it's not what you know it's what you can prove.

  • @thatsmeokeedee Well that's certainly true. Looking back on my personal experience's everyone has been lucky enough to have plenty of witnesses who stuck around to be part of the police report. I guess the bottom line for the lay-people is: Priority 1.Stay alive 2.Educate yourself on your local/state laws so you can make good decisions while staying alive. Can we agree on that?

  • @wstraino Yes I agree totally. I know that what is written on paper is not necessarily what happens. I was just quoting from what I know. People always ask "if they do this can I do this" to which my response is only the amount of force being used against you is what you can use back. It's always what you can prove not what you know. Sure sometimes justice doesn't happen the right way. Check out the Bernhard Goetz case if you don't know it already. It plays into what we've been discussing.

  • @thatsmeokeedee You can use as much force as you like, just have a better lawyer or If you didn't run away at the start of the melee, run away at the end! More people are convicted in assaults who thought they were in "The right" to use force. Never admit it. Not to your friends, not to anyone.

  • But if is carry the knife he can still stab you in the right side of the body,So the question is to hit the harm so hard thaaaaat the attacker will drop the knife.Otherwise he still can do bad damage to the baton man.

  • Where's Marc MacYoung when you need him...

  • One of the best yet simplest of all baton techniques. Straight to the point.

  • Damn he will fuck yo shit up!!! damn!!

  • I'd just take the baton and strike hard to the guy's temple...he'd drop the knife, drop a load of shit in his shorts, drop a few incoherant sentences, and I'd walk away...;p

  • 1.01 you're fucked. the dude with the knife can easily stab you in the stomach

  • Look at the Guy with knife his attacks is so fake!!!:D

  • i just drag up a gun and shoot him LOL ;)

  • @swedishdiver55 Such a pussy thing to say. People like you are why I don't like guns. You're too scared to do anything physical.

  • @SinJackal nope then i can take a knife and stab him its not physical to use a fucking baton

  • @swedishdiver55 Yes it is, rofl. You have to use skill and force to be successful with one, while putting yourself at some sort of risk. With a gun, you use no force, don't need skill, and don't put yourself at risk at all. Huge difference.

  • @SinJackal why use a baton then if i is so risky? T_T

  • @swedishdiver55 Because you will get fired and possibly jail time if you use a gun on civillians every time there's a problem :P It really is a dangerous job, though in most places those sorts of situations don't come up nearly as often as is dramatized on tv or in movies. You can also get in trouble for "defending yourself legally" by using a gun vs any dangerous but "non lethal" object. Gotta be really careful.

  • @swedishdiver55 Because of all the lawyers lurking around? :(

  • look kinda painful to be his ginipig.....lol

  • Thats not gonna work on real life

Give me a knife and i am sure that i will hit you at least 1 time

  • That guy is quick!

  • This looks a lot like a stripped down version of kali/eskrima/arnis. I approve!

  • @HKMANIAK I like your take on the baton. I consider myself a peaceful person. I'd never wanna stab someone even a mugger I feel a baton would be great against a knife. and get the job job quiker.

  • that poor guy...

  • I prefer Sabre Red or Fox Labs over a stick

  • In Australia if the person has a knife cops may use a gun. Police always need to have the upper hand otherwise the person may attack.

  • He should had mention another way without the baton, because bare handed it would be more difficult to reach all the way around his neck, and if you can, you would probably kill the dude from twisting his neck harshly.

  • i hope id never have to spar with this guy lol

  • These are good tactics if for some reason you're carrying a baton but not a gun... And for some reason, you're unable to retreat.

Unless you like getting cut up and stabbed, you'll avoid fighting a knife-wielder, no matter how good you are. The only *effective* defense against a knife attack(effective meaning a low chance of being seriously injured or killed) is to employ a gun. Or to run away. That's it.

    Gotta love the 2nd amendment.

  • That's the case for police officers. They cannot retreat, that's unfullfilment of military duty. And the legal reason to use a baton is that a gun is not always proportional to an attack by a person not using a gun. My father is an ex cop and in my country a police officer is not allowed to use a gun unless you are under fire. I'm a civilian, and the law of my country, again, doesn't allow you to carry a gun nor a knife. I agree with you with the tactics...

  • ...the best ways to deal with a knife are getting distance, getting a knife yourself or a gun. But sometimes you must do something. I'm not a "runner", so about a year ago I saved an old man who was beeing assaulted in the street by two thiefs at night. I was riding a bike, so I stopped, pull my glasses aside, grab my baton and the two thiefs ran away. My father told me that burglars always carry kitchen knives, so the baton was my only legal choice. Running is not always an option...

  • Just in case, I know shooting also.

  • idiots

  • Interesting, but you get in way too close for comfort in my opinion. If that arm is still functional, you leave yourself open to be stabbed.

  • I think if you were to hit the guy with the knife, most likely the knife would be drop.

  • News flash the last technique wrapping the assailants neck to rwist him down...you are very likely going to be stabbed in the side and ribs at least once before you finish the tactic. You must at all time FIRST secure the attackers weapon...then and ONLY them will it be safe or safer to proceed.

  • @branchingvine Agreed. Strike to the hand or forearm, letting the baton travel to the left side, pulling baton tightly to side, then immediately follow up with a strike to the right side of the assailant's head. Retreat from the assailant and see if he drops or changes his mind. Maintain reasonable distance. Practice striking to hand sized target every day....throw orange in air and cut in half with knife. Practice figure 8 striking pattern and you will master in a month.

  • the first movement is designed to make the guy drop the knife. That's the premise they're working on. Little common sense would help you out.

  • @branchingvine

By attacking his wrist and arm with that amount of force was implied that his weapon has been freed from his hands.

  • @branchingvine Agreed Branchingvine! Flawed strategy, I use similar entries, but only after "destroying the fang/defanging", or turning opponents weapon on himself. No charges to date for impaling someone on their own weapon. :) This entry is better against a blunt weapon where you are moving outside impact radius.

  • @branchingvine EXACT same thought popped into my head. Work that damn knife out of his hand. If he has the knife and you get into stabbing range your going to get cut. If he has that angle it is a stabbing and your survival rate just dropped.

  • @gat0rbball you mean he can still hold a knive after his arm and hand get brocken? you expect to get attacked by cyborgs with steel bones?

  • @superdruid999 Lol you think getting popped on the arm is going to break it? That kind of thing ain't a garuntee. You don't know bone density of the person...i mean you can't go into this move until the knife is gone. And you know for damn sure that JUST smackin an arm dont break it. Ive been hit in the knee cap with a direct blow by a hatchet and NO damage was done. I mean dont get me wrong...I was lucky, but it happens you know?

  • @gat0rbball apparently youve been attacked by a pussy with chicken strength... the bones in your hand arent that strong. the bones in your legs would be a lot stronger than the ones in your hand since they have to carry your weight aswell. hands and fingers break or injure easily when hit with a proper weapon. and yes yust smacking wouldnt break anything but hitting full force would. you think finger bones are that strong? you can injure your wrist just by falling the wrong way...

  • @superdruid999 See this is a better point, and the most common injury is in fact a broken wrist. I did say arm(tibia etc) and that doesnt break as easy as the 8 carpals of the wrist. But as a former football player and current martial artist...breaking a finger wont make me lose my grip unless you get a GOOD lick at the proper angel. I mean my essential statement is that you better make damn sure that knife is clear and your strike IS full force.

  • @branchingvine after breaking his arm and injuring his leg?

  • So easy to fight someone who's not fighting back. I'd take a knife over an ASP any day...

  • @campbellsclark I would rather have the baton, it has longer reach, and a lethal/nonlethal option

  • OMG hahaha awsome techniques but that human dummie that hes using mustve cost a fortune !

  • neckbreaker :D

  • are these police techniques?

the neck take down looks a little too violent i think

  • If someone has a knife and are trying to kill you, you pretty much have the right to kill them

  • @metalmania7778 No, you have the right to eliminate the threat not the person dumbass.
