Also heard this courtesy of Radcliffe and Maconie whilst trucking down to London, they play some cracking gems that i wouldn't normally hear and this is one of them.
I was driving from london to norfolk also listening to Radcliffe and Maconie and heard this song . Blew me away . I thought i heard this as a small boy in the 1970s but its only 2 years old .
@fredrich99 Hi Check out this entry on You Tube, 'The North Wind South' by Philamore LIncoln circa 1968, this is a cover. You probably did hear it as a kid
First heard this AGES ago, and loved it. Messrs. Radcliffe & Maconie played it last night [14/12/10], and I was again captivated by the beauty of the vocal, and the oddness of some of the sounds. Great!
please upload the Philamore Lincoln version, i would very much like to hear it. i found a site selling a copy of the vinyl but it costs about £80 and that ain't happening.
Haunting and hypnotic song, I'm surprised so few people have seen this. I saw it on MTV and had to write down who it was and watch it again. Is it just me or does the video look like lots of little models?
Tilt-shift is so wonderful.

Amazing song! I also heard it on Radcliffe and Maconie last night.
Could have been made in the psychedelic era of the 60's, which of course it wasn't!

Like brianartillery, I heard this on Radcliffe and Maconie's show, mentioning too that they had played it a couple of years back.
What an amazing track! It is like something that was made in the psychedelic era of the 60's.
Brilliant!

Better off getting the Philamore Lincoln original - this is nice, but it's knocked into a cocked hat by his version.

Did you miss the bit where the old buffers said this was the stand out track on the album? You might want to save your money.

It's an effect called tilt shift photography for making real-life full scale photos look like models.
