fuking arm chair jockeys!!!! none of you have even rode in a race, he was 1 of the hardest pullers of all time, im a jockey myself so i understand what c small had to deal with, pack of wankers!!!!!
Question for guys here who know their racing, what would the WFA stars of these days (80's & 90's) do to the absolute dirth of WFA talent today? Vo Rogue, Manikato, Kingston Town, Might And Power, Super Impose etc...would need to give the current lot half a lap headstart over 2000m, and it still wouldn't be a contest. And Christopher and Tigerrish, absolutely agree with comments about Vo Rogue and Cox of '88...but we know the Vics are HABITUAL doctors of courses, Cox Plates, Melb Cups etc.
@doriemus97 Funnily enough your comment last year was just after So you Think's first Cox win. And you're still right essentially. People don't realize the depth of Australian racing in the last 20 years. And the Vic and Vo show was right up at the top of the tree. I think the comment regarding Super Impose was the most telling. Super didn;t improve, he just didn;t have to race the Rogue any more.
Freakish horse...whenever his name is mentioned my Dad gets a glaze over his eyes and a goofy smile...one of his favourite horses of all time and a QLD'er! My sister was nearly named Vo Rogue but that's another story!
He was the best WFA horse ever and I get that smile also watching this They were the best years of my life!! My son was also going to be named something along the lines.Cheers
'87 set a suicidial pace at front and still hung on for 4th ,beaten a half length. '88 would have won the Cox Plate with a leg in the Air only for the MVRC watering the course.
The rest is history. Added to the fact he was never ridden well
Christopher, youre right had he been ridden alot better he would have won alot more races than he did. He'd won several times at MV so there is no doubt he would have won the CP in '88 after he beat the winner in the Aust Cup 5 mths later and beat him easily too.
ive got a full set of yearly vidoes myself also king & the man plus heaps of others, this is were these vids come from.not me but the guy who has put them on

the last 15 seconds says it all.....
this horse on GOOD tracks was near unbeatable, in the autumn he was at his best but still won his fair share of group ones in the spring.
pity about the 88 cox plate but made amends in the autumn of 89 by beating our poetic prince easily in the australian cup

@bgardiner2000 ..Too true regarding Super. It wasnt like he was just falling in for second everytime, there was a fair gap most of the time.
Take out Vo Rogue and Super would be talked about today as a true legend. But thats racing all over isnt it :))

"Vo Rogue leads from start to finish", repeat repeat.
Thanks for the memories Tigerrish.
May I ask where you get these videos from? Is it something on Pay TV or are these your own work?
