  • this is pathetic

  • it's inconsistent? Actually, most contemporary churches like this get criticized for attacking pornography (cuz you can't talk about sex in church). Traditional churches silence on this subject all but says "it's ok" by not calling it out! The churches that are contemporary that are really growing a lot are NOT building messages and songs based on what people want; it communicates what they need. What they need gets lost in translation in the old English in traditional churches. Sorry-but tru

  • Thumbs down ... Sorry

  • Stephanie Courtney should sue.

  • @mishakol129 Alright, how about Numbers 31:15-18 where god says to slay all the midanites except virgin women who are listed as cattle and plunder? How about Exodus 21:20, It's ok to beat your slave as long as you don't kill him and he gets up in two days. Or 2 Kings 2:23-24 where god kills 42 children with bears for making fun of a prophet. You're making an assumption about god where how he is depicted doesn't match up.

  • It may be comedy (and it is funny) but it is a pretty good description of the modern, liberal approach of the Mega-Churches.

  • @allsaintsmonastery Heya vladika Lazar, did you ever figure out how to unban me from your channel?

  • Matthew 11:19

11 When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: 12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.

    check that one

  • @twizelby You liar, that is not what Matthew 11:19 says, "Matthew 11:19 "The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' And so wisdom is justified by her children."

That is what Jesus said.... Liar.

  • @mishakol129 oops sorry Deuteronomy 25 11

  • I loved this so much. Despite what others think, I say it was worth my time and their money to make this. It's a good message and if you aren't a believer and this video offended you, you seem irrational and should look for some counselling.

  • "If your pet (aka your SELF) makes a mess, we'll clean it up; and it's never your fault." Ha-ha-ha! Best line in the whole thing. So appropriate to today's GOP race. Did Gingrich fund this? He's sure counting on "Dave benches" for everyone.

  • Yeah I was done with this commercial after you said you don't care what God thinks...it's ok to not believe in God if that's what you want to do, but don't make fun of other religions that's not cool..

  • This is what you call ....E P I C F A I L U R E .....was not worth the effort or the $ invested to produce.

  • @flythatbyme Its Christian Comedy ya jerk.

  • @mishakol129 ...about your nice comment.....When did Jesus call the lost '' yall a bunch of jerks ''..... go read the '' red print '' in your bible again.

  • @flythatbyme You were calling it an "EPIC FAILURE", what did you expect? Jesus did not hide the evil, he exposed it. He told the Pharisees and the Scribes the truth of their sin, but they did not want to hear that and so they crucified Him.

I apologize for calling you a jerk. It doesn't matter about what I think, its about what God thinks. Jesus said, "John 3:20 "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed."

    He exposed evil.

  • @flythatbyme ...My opinion of '' Epic Failure '' comment was pertaining to the number of anticipated views. It was perhaps a huge disappointment to those who thought that God would '' bless '' this concept of doctrinal discipline. The Holy Spirt will do this work...with love and compassion from Christians. On a one on one basis. Apperently ...this is nearly @ 50% dis-approval....from fellow Christians.

  • I took it for what it is, Comedy. If people want to get butt-hurt and offended, then you my friend need a little more strength in your life. Stop being so sensitive.

  • is this makeing fun of modernates or progressive

  • @joeyjoeyjibjub just religious nuts telling other religious nuts they are not religious enough. lol....bout as bad as Christians telling Romney that their religion is real and his ain't. That is funny. Our imaginary man is more real than yours!

  • sorta boring...

  • I don't get it?

  • @bashpr0mpt The commercial is making fun of a certain group of christians, namely modernists.

  • EVERY Christian picks and chooses what they want from the Bible. If any Christian followed the Bible's instructions flawlessly, they would be thrown in jail for life.

  • @Faladorian10 Not true sir, the Bible does not condone going against the authorities, the New Testament condemns it. The Apostle Paul says, "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities." It also says in the Holy Gospels of the Lord Jesus Christ (which are way stricter), "38“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ 39But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

    Offenses are forbidden.

  • @mishakol129 Hey! I am a person who has never researched the origins of what I believe. Just read biased books on the subject so that I do not have to think for myself. I was taught to not question what I was taught no matter how childish it sounds.

  • @mishakol129 It also says to return a slave to his master and to kill disobedient children, that women can't speak in church, and to stone people if they work on the sabbath.

  • @hydrolito That was only in the Old Testament for the children of Israel who were the chosen people of God. It does in no way apply to us today because of Jesus Christ and his propitiation for our sins.

  • @mishakol129 If you think the Bible doesn't apply to you, fine. However, if you ever ask yourself "what would Jesus do?" you might consider the fact the Jesus was one of those children of Israel who were the chosen people of God. He was circumcised, he kept kosher, and he observed the Mosaic law. I suspect you've been led astray by Paul, who was repeatedly given 39 lashes - the penalty for teaching false doctrine - by the Christian community.

  • @mishakol129" It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB) the old testament law is still binding

  • @mishakol129 Whoever curses father or mother shall die" (Mark 7:10 NAB)

  • @twizelby That is from the Old Testament, it has no more effect after Christ Resurrected from the dead. Proof, "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:" (Gal 3:13)

Romans 4:15 "Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression."

Jesus frees us from the Law

Romans 8:2 "The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

  • @mishakol129 Luke and mark are part of the new testament. also if we are free from the law does that mean gays can get married? does that mean that the ten commandments are no longer valid?

  • @twizelby The Bible only threatened the killings of people in the Old Testament because he wanted us to obey Him and not sin. Also, even if a killing ever did take place, it was for the People of Israel, who were the Chosen People of God. They were led through the Wilderness for 40 days and nights

  • @mishakol129 you ignored all of the quotes that I gave you from the new testament where Jesus says to follow the laws of the old testament. you also ignored my other question, "if we are free from the law does that mean that gays can get married or that the ten commandments are no longer valid?"

  • @mishakol129 "The Bible only threatened the killings of people in the Old Testament because he wanted us to obey Him and not sin" does this mean that god doesn't care about us sinning now? was killing babies meant to keep the Israelites safe?"Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock! (Psalm 137:9 - ESV)"

  • @twizelby Don't question God's Word. It is the Spiritual Truth. You must not interpret it so carnally. It is Spiritual.

The Christian Tradition is that, "Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock! (Psalm 137:9 - ESV)" mean that "Blessed is he who takes the little ones, which are evil thoughts, and dashes them and against the Rock, which is Jesus Christ.

God is not evil. The Bible is written for our instruction. You must not be so cowardly.

  • @mishakol129 no hes talking about Babylonian babies in psalms 137 9 go read the verse."Don't question God's Word. It is the Spiritual Truth." Im asking you questions about the bible and you seem to be uncomfortable answering them. if you cant defend your faith then maybe you should lose it. Psalms is in the old testament what does that have to do with Jesus?

  • @twizelby "My God, my God why hast Thou forsaken Me...they pierced My hands and My feet...they part My garments among them and cast lots for My vesture." Psalm 22. Just so you can see the relevance of the OT to Jesus. That and the fact that Jesus refers to it throughout the New Testament. BTY Psalm 22 was written centuries before Christ's death on the cross; kind of interesting, don't you think?

  • @StockportWesleyanC not really it tells me the writer of the bible was familiar with the old testament and thus psalms. the writer was obviously trying to draw a parallel between whatever the context of psalms was and jesus.

  • @twizelby When you say "the writer of the Bible," do you mean the Holy Spirit?

You do realise the Bible was written not by one man, but by lots of different men at different times.

So tell me, how did the pagan Roman soldiers who cast lots for Christ's clothes, know that they were meant to do that in order to fulfill King David's prophecy(Psalm 22) given some 900 years before?

  • @StockportWesleyanC if there is no indication or proclamation of a prophetic statement, I do not think it can rightly be called a fulfillment of prophecy. The simple resemblance of something in the past to something in the future does not automatically mean prophecy has been fulfilled.

  • @twizelby Oh come on! The Bible calls David a Prophet, as well as a King. The statements are quite cearly relevant to the crucifixion. There is not "a similarity" but an exact match with the New Testament narrative. Show me a Biblical example of fulfilment more accurate. I put it to you that the reason you do not accept this is because you do not want to hear the truth, but would rather continue in sin. Therefore Jesus' own words seem relevant, "repent and believe the gospel." Mark 1:15

  • @StockportWesleyanC im no theologian, i didnt arrive at an atheistic world view from being unconvinced of supposedly prophetic statements made by the interpretation of apologists."I put it to you that the reason you do not accept this is because you do not want to hear the truth, but would rather continue in sin" good to know you think your god gave you the power to read minds.

  • @StockportWesleyanC if you are a christian then you dont have to worry about sin right? i mean you could do anything and then ask god to forgive you. so it you can live in sin either way its just i dont believe in god.

  • @twizelby Sorry, I think you will find that "the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23 If a Christian continues in sin he will lose his salvation and if you continue in sin, you will perish in hell. That is the standard Wesleyan position.

  • @StockportWesleyanC so you havent sinned since you have been a christian? is there a certain number of sins you can commit before you arent let into the pearly gates? again how many "prophesies" can be chalked up to people writing the bible who want to make parallels to jesus, how many can be chalked up to coincidence how many could be things that you want to see? it is an interesting topic though

  • @StockportWesleyanC it says "the wages of sin is death." it doesnt say "the wages of sin is hell." how do you know that it isnt just saying the reason we die is because of sin

  • @StockportWesleyanC also if I was to comment on your initial reaction I would say that if the verse doesnt make a statement of this will happen at such and such a time in such and such a way it doesnt mean much. If I say someone will get shot today and then someone gets shot that doesnt make me a prophet. also psalms says pierced hands not pierced wrists. it therfore wouldnt be an accurate portrayal of crucifixion and could therefore symbolize something relevant to david.

  • @twizelby Yes, but contextually, taken together, these things make a clear picture of Christ's death on the cross, EVEN if they first applied to David. It's called "Prophetic Recapitulation."

  • @StockportWesleyanC I also dont understand why something would be considered prophecy if it doesnt say this is a prophecy, or there will be a savior nailed to a cross, or something more specific then people just making assumptions that these statements are prophetic. sorry for my many comment boxes I keep thinking of things just after I post.

  • @twizelby The Bible is not a text book. There isn't a section labelled "Prophetic Fulfilment" in which each prophecy and its fulfilment is clearly defined. However, the Apostles do quote certail OT verses and expound their prophetic meaning. The best thing to do is read the whole Bible for yourself and you should get to see how it explains itself. Thanks.

  • @mishakol129 “...the scripture cannot be broken.” --Jesus Christ, John 10:35

  • @hydrolito Picking what you want in the bible to support your needs and not bothering to find out the whole meaning? Wow, sounds familiar.

  • @Faladorian10 Exaclty...in the new testament it says you can sell children into slavery...thats 2 big no no's in our world. Slavery and child labor. the bible is filled with things that if you lived by it today word for word, you end up on CNN for shooting people in a church........

  • The war in Afghanistan, sponsored by Jesus Christ! Sounds familiar? Well that's pretty much what the US government used to make people believe instead of think.

  • @OmegaFiveThreeFive Not true, the war in Afganistan was not sponsered by Jesus Christ.... The last sentence doesn't make any sense to me.

  • I will customize the list of commandments I want to do. Those who eat shellfish shall suffer my wrath, and all of my gay buddies and I will gang up on people outside seafood restaurants and brandish bibles at them.

I will also rape young girls, and pay their fathers fifty pieces of silver, so that the girls must marry me.

Now if only there were some Amelekites left, I could have some real fun...

  • @talhoyle That's highly improbable.

  • @talhoyle There might be Amelekites left but who knows we might be them or the professing Jew or Christian might be them.

  • Shes not pretty at all. I want the real Flo!

  • her 'bump' isnt big enough

  • "old lady" had nice tits

  • I really hope there is not a church like that in real life.

  • @lovebassguit3193

    There are several.

  • I agree to a point that some progressive churches try to mold Christianity to what they like, but this video is, as bndctus/macpduff said, too mean spirited.

I can't feel a hint of love or compassion in this video. It would be interesting to see someone argue that this was God-driven. If this video was not made with Love in mind, what is the purpose of this video? Will someone be moved by this video? I feel that this video was created and will be received with a wrong image of God's character.

  • @blah9568 ....Your comment nailed exactly what I was thinking !

  • Wow! After reading these comments, it brings to mind something P.T. Barnum almost said. 'There's a sucker Born Again every minute!"

  • Todays "christian"........"I go to a church every sunday because it's expected and I gain brownie points with god, and if the preacher says something that is true but I don't like it, well I'll find a church that fits my lifestyle, after all, jesus loves me no matter what"

  • @steelflame1

    You reproduced the words finely.

  • how lame

  • wtf is this

  • @woa12 Its a Christian commercial, made to make fun of the disaster of Evangelical Protestants who treat the Christian religion in this fashion.

  • @mishakol129 im a protestant amd im not anything like this...i like my chruch and my life....and the only differance between protastant and catholic is less traditional and we are more worldly....im not trying to make u mad but, its just to make funn of fake-christians......not protastants.

  • @skyjack11rocks Thats the problem though, "more worldly", this is the reason why America is in the trash bin, Protestant Christianity does not have the power to defend against the wiles of the Evil. In Orthodoxy and Catholicism we have the most powerful defenses against Satan... the Holy Eucharist and Holy Confession. Every week we have the opporitunity to receive God into our bodies and to be filled with Divine radiance... It is in the Sacraments that the power of God is made manifest.

  • @mishakol129 I did not know Jesus said to help and love only Americans... Repeating bullshit does not make it true and it certainly doesn't help anyone. Stop being a child who believes in magic and grow balls to face the fact that religion is the worst thing that as happened to humanity. People like you are the reason why the world we live in is so crappy... You talk about defenses against Satan? What irony! You are the closest thing to the Devil on earth! Anyways, Peace and Love my friend.

  • @OmegaFiveThreeFive You talk about peace and love but you're accusations that I have "no balls", am the reason why the "world we live in is so crappy, and am the "closest thing to Satan" have nothing to do with peace and love. You're being hypocritical here.

Btw I do not "believe in magic" nor am I the reason why the world is messed up: people are the reason why the world is messed up; because people are evil, not religion.

Evil is only inherit in people and that's why Jesus Christ came to us.

  • @mishakol129 f U and Jesus you brainwashed moron.

  • @mishakol129 ...then it was a worthless joke upon yourself trying to defend this "inspired piece of crap" !

  • Allow me to disagree, if something is truly mean spirited then it is not appropriate on any day, not only on Easter.

Jesus approached the sinners kindly but when it came to pharisees, religious hypocrites and people who were desecrating the Temple by making it into a house of thieves He reproached harshly and even picked up a whip.

So many people who are genuinely seeking and are hungry for God are being misled and even turned to atheism by what passes as "Church" nowadays, I was one of them.

  • @bndctus No, this is well deserved and appropriate. I wish I was there so I could high five you for posting this.

  • @bndctus You're right about that, Jesus reproached the hypocrites and those who used religion as a means of gain. St Paul, St Peter, and St Jude sharply rebuke the deceivers and seducers, which try to profess an outward form of religion, but were denying the power of it. See 1 Timothy 6 and 2 Timothy 3, and 2 Peter 2, and Jude to see what they say about them. Peter and Jude write especially "hateful" letters.

But we must know they all had the wrath of GOD, and not wrath of Man -SEE JAMES 1:20

  • @bndctus Wow. You must be easily swayed.

  • Don't get mad at me my friend, but this video seems a bit mean spirited on this sacred day.

Blessings to you and your family

    Hallelujah - He is risen!

  • @macpduff Its true. I know. I should have waited and made another Easter video.

O well. This week is Bright week in our Orthodox Church. During bright week there is no fasting at all. I will upload more Easter videos.

    Christ is Risen!
