I've heard "private" conversations in public where groups of Asian girls were talking about how to exploit Asian men. Always very pleased with themselves.

@319am1 Respectfully disagree. Our individual races are more common than people of mixed races. So, I actually think it makes us less unique. People of mixed backgrounds are the ones who tend to stand out and tend to be distinctive. But it's all personal preference. All I'm trying to say is that if we are attracted to someone of a different ethnicity/race, there is no shame in it and we should just go for it. We have this one life to live, and we shouldn't live by what others want to see.

You are a very smart man and you've risen above stereotypes that the media portrays. As a Black female, I noticed stereotypes of Blacks but not of others races. Now that you've mentioned it, I see the Asian stereotypes!I noticed that Blacks in media were always gangsters,rappers,poor,uneduca­ted criminals. I cannot relate to these characters because none reflect ME! This kind of media stereotyping of minorities need to STOP!

Very good commentary and insight. I am a black and lived in Hawaii for almost 9 years so I was exposed to just about every different Asian culture there is. Before that I didn't really have any close Asian friends but now most of them are which has been pretty cool. I have a new appreciation for learning about others cultures and getting to know them for them whether it be dating or just in general. I think it's great what you're doing. I like the fact that you reiterated the fact that not ALL asians are geniuses, like any other ethnic background. I met a Korean guy recently (I'm black), and I had a great time with him, but I chose not to continue the relationship because of matters other than the fact that he was Korean. That's how i felt to that no one would really get me other than my own race but the thing is there weren't many girls like me who spoke like me and i got teased over that. They said that i was "Acting white or proper" trying to be something i am not but it wasn't true it really is who i am. Every time i met an Asian guy they made me feel beautiful and accepted me for who i am and that's why i like them so much. People don't understand that me liking Asian guys don't mean i dislike other races.

Thanks again for the insight. I think that the media has heavily stereotyped Asian men and given that not too many of them speak out, it reinforces those notions. We share a similar experience. I didn't fit any of the archetype I saw from the media. I wasnt ghetto or like video girls, or manly/aggressive (remember dabrat and latifah at the time?). I grew up watching black films, women were often either like the types I mentionned or successful & single. Also black magazines/media limit bw (only) and tell them to wait for their black prince so I grew up believing I owed my race "loyalty". I used to be miserable, until i saw the light a few years ago =)

As bw I can relate to ur video I'm not in my early 20'sand I've always been attracted to all men. i chose to date bm b/c thats what was expected of me.
