Masterpiece? Effortless brilliance? You've got to be kidding! More like effortless complete mediocrity. This is so sterile, so soulless and lifeless. Not even close, not even in the same league as the fantastic Lennon demo of "India" or anything the Bealtes did in the 60s. Hell, it's not even close to anything Paul did with Wings in 1970s. It's in the production and the way McCartney is using his voice. Note when he sings "India" the first time! --it's very Sting-esque. Its a departure for him. It's no "Junior's Farm" or "Dance Tonight". There's a kind of expanse and film score quality to the arrangement. I don't think he's consciously lifting from the Police or anything... it just reminds me of Sting sensibilities a bit.
