Catholics look upon Mary in the same way that Jesus did. We look upon Mary as our Mother. As such we ask her to intercede on our behalf with her Son.

WE are not usurping Christs position. We simply see things more in family terms than Protestants do. Mary is our heavenly mother and the Saints our heavenly brothers and sisters.

Let's be honest people are not alone in saying they want something "alive" and "fulfilling". These people are looking for the Holy Spirit like the days of the early Church.I'm not talking about receiving the Holy Spirit just in the Sacraments, but to fan into flames those gifts previously received at baptism and sealed at confirmation. Unfortunately,for too many Catholics,the gifts and graces received in the sacraments remain dormant and inaccessible.

When I became born again I went to a Church where the Priest was Born Again also and we did not worship the bread nor the saints! He was Sola Scriptura and almost lost his job numerous times because of his faith! He wanted to eave but was told to take the truth back to the Church!

However, if you read the entire Catholic Doctrine in totality, the charismatic baptism of the Holy Spirit has never been recognised as part of the 7 official sacraments of the Catholic faith. For it does not comes from the Catholic Faith. Just like zen meditation, which is making its way into the Church, is not recognised as the 7 sacraments.

At lest, 2 of my students are now Catholic priests . Thus, I would know the bible. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is bestowed during the sacrament of confirmation.
