Chicken hearts are good. Beef heart is also quite good. My favorite preparation is a Peruvian dish called "anticuchos de corazón", which translates to "heart kebabs" (I think): small pieces of heart are marinated in a simple-but-tasty sauce before skewering and barbecuing them. *Very* good.
@JadenYukiNeoSpacian ooo i got to try some only 1 time! i went on the wendy williams show and they were on there. they were pretty good! but there are little bones on the back right?
@FoodOddities I'm sure lots of people would love to try the same dishes you do. it'll give you something to look forward to. and you're a good cook too.
@TheMeekygeeky thank yoU! i do both. we find them in asian market s and other ethnic stores and we find a lot there. also my dad orders online when i find something crazy. like the placenta drink or the emu egg and even rattle snake those were all online
we eat hearts all the time in turkey we slice them to rings and we fry them it gets a little crunchy that way we also eat kidney, liver, kelle(head),spleen(this one tastes almost like beef),brain, tongue we got different cooking methods and dishes for all of them put i would recommend you işkembe soup with vinegar and diced garlic so delicious
I ate Turkey heart, chicken heart, duck heart, some wild birds' heart, goat one, lamb, cow, rabbit, and a lot more. The only one I have never tried and will never try it is PIG HEART. I can't eat that because I don't eat pork. Good job, buddy. I will subscribe. Keep it up
@nrambold those things are so huge! i ate as much as i coud then my dad ate some then i gave it to my cousin. i think i could have eaten half a deer heart only!!
@chucklesmcgee137 i have only gotten sick from teh taste. like sick right away. but i have never been sick later after i tried some thing. but now that i say that i will probably get sick:D
if the only downside to this is the toughness of the meat, it might be necessary to consider using an alternative cooking method such as wet or dry barbequing, pit barbequing, braising, etc.
@Rodzilla43 it was funny when i held them before cooking i though maybe it would be really hard but once itwas cooked it smelled like good meat! good meat and pennies mixed together. so i just dug in:D
LOL these videos are great. I'm not sure he's enjoying all these weird things, but he definitely has control of his gag reflex. Remy, you are one cool kid.
Don't listen to the vegetarian, Remy! They're entitled to their opinion but it's completely false. Humans are, have been, and are meant to be omnivorous. We need both meat and plants for good health. We've been hunting for as long as we've been around. Hunting for 'fun' and 'sport' is of course bad.. but hunting for food (my family and I hunt for food, we don't like buying store-bought meat; supports slaughterhouses).. there's nothing wrong with that.
This is very disturbing and sad. Those hearts once belonged to animals who have the same desire to live and be free, just like you lil' Remy. They are no different from the cats and dogs (aka, "pets") that you find too morally objectionable to eat. I do believe you are exploited by your parents here. Was it your idea to eat those hearts or was it your Dad's? Anyway, this whole situation is very tragic. I do hope that someday soon you have a change of heart, Remy (pun intended).
i decided to eat the heart by mysel f but i understand what you are saying. my dad doesnt hunt or kill animals but the heart was offered to me and it seemed like a bad thing to waste it.the deer was already shot so i think it is wrong to waste the animals.
@FoodOddities Remy, to this I would say that each time an animal is killed for our pleasure or "fun", whether it's sport or consumption, its life is wasted. For we know that eating animal flesh has no health benefits whatsoever, nor is it required for our survival. So for what do we kill then? No reason. Remy, your life must be important to you. To each animal that dies for human pleasure, their life is just as important to them as yours is to you. Their suffering and death is a waste.
@joolenka i understnad what you are saying. and i want to thank you for not being mean when you dis agree with me. some times people write and they are mean but i think you can change some ones mind by how you act than what you say. but thank you for your thoghts i do apprecaite it.
@FoodOddities If I were you, I would move away from featuring dead animal parts altogether and towards vegetables and fruit. There are plenty of unusual ones out there. By far your most interesting episodes were about truffles and durian fruit. Our bodies, after all, are not meant to be graveyards. Especially a young one like yours. How can we live a full life stuffing our bodies with death and pain? We can't.
@joolenka Animal meat provides protein that our bodies need. While I'll agree that it is sad to see an animal die, I will disagree that it is a wasted life. Furthermore, consuming the entire animal creates that much less waste. Animals are in the food chain just as we are and we have been eating meat for thousands of years. Can you tell me how an animal values it's life as a human does? No one can say how those animals died and if they did indeed suffer. Are you by chance a Vegan?
This kid could tear your arms, legs, and pointed head off you crying sissyboy of YouTube. The heart is the best part of the beast. I hope this kid takes a big bite out of yours someday.
@joolenka omg. come on and stop with the PETA type crap please. You are harrassing this kid is what you are doing. Stop accusing him and his parents of killing animals off to give people pleasure and or entertainment. This is not entertainment. Remy is telling people what different foods from around the world taste like. The last thing he needs is someone harping on him about stuff like that. If you really want to attack someone, attack the poachers that kill animals for money.
Awesome videos Remy! You know what's really good? Lightly fried venison heart with onions and morel mushrooms. If you can get your hands on some fresh morels.. you've gotta try that. :]
Remy, there's this Asian drink called "Bird's Nest" that's made of water, sugar, the nest of a certain type of bird, and white fungus. It's canned and sold; although it's a bit expensive, I want you to review it!

When you took a bite out of the deer heart, you looked like werewolf Remy again! The buffalo has a BIG heart! Remy, you put it in the oven just like that? No salt, or anything?
I have a very old recipe from my Grandmother (which I believe came from her Grandmother) for stuffed beef hearts. To me, it never sounded all that appetizing, although I always wanted to try it. After seeing this vid, perhaps I'll have to cook it up and give it a go!
Yep. It's a mixture of bread, onions, parsley and a few other spices, and 1 egg. As I look closer, it also says all of the veins and arteries should be removed, which seems like an awful lot of work to me!

As I look closer, it also says all of the veins and arteries should be removed, which seems like an awful lot of work to me!

yeah i think if you get rid of all the veins there isnt much left

Awesome. Heart tastes good. Well, the one from the cow. I like it...
But when you took a bite out of that buffalo heart, I kinda felt jealous.
