I have to admit, I was terrified when I saw this as a kid. I thought my parents tricked me into going into this ride by going inside the Cinderella castle, but it's actually INSIDE the castle lol.

Now after seeing this ride again-as an adult-I am actually very impressed to see such detail, how creepy the voice was in Japanese, and the animatronic was literally AHEAD of its time!

Wish they bring this attraction back!

How come the "good conquers evil" sign at the end was in English? I mean, the voice recordings on the ride were all in (what I assume to be) Japanese to reflect the fact that this is Disneyland TOKYO, so why not the sign?

mayb sb has already mentioned, it is said that it is closed bc Cinderella castle needs a renovation for earthquake-resistant structure. After the renovation the new attraction was constructed and new one called "Cinderella's Fairytale Hall" will open in April 2011.

The Mirror speaks the truth! The Villains are the real Disney Heroes! Think about it, what fun would Sleeping Beauty be without Maleficent? Indeed, the villains are misunderstood. Give them a chance to know them, they might be really nice!

Real shame they closed the attraction, it looked really cool! And they need to have the Horned King out and about more. Signing Autographs? Animatronics on various attractions? Anything!

And just because Black Cauldron was not a sucess at the time of it's release does not make it a bad film!!! You probably have probably not even seen it! when i was a lil kid, i was crying at the horned king part. very scary. i cried so loud that the tour guide had to calm me down lol. thinking back bout that is just plain stupid. easily the scariest ride in the park. but i LOVED every second of it just thinking back when i was in this tour. too bad they decided to close this down =(

Oh my friend, how wrong you are...

Tokyo Disneyland is the most packed place I've ever BEEN in. The reason it looked so empty was probably due to the time period. The best time to go is during the spring, particularly during rainy season. It's usually a tad chilly still and very rainy, so no one feels like going and therefore, it's easier to ride stuff. :) Oct-Jan = worst time to go, imo.

Though... the lines for Pooh and Monsters Inc. will ALWAYS be ridiculous, no matter what...

Yeah, it really sucks too, because Monsters Inc looks like fun and the Pooh ride here is so AWESOME because the pots move independently... I was only lucky enough to get a Pooh Fastpass the last time I went because Ride and Go Seek had just opened up. D:

I remember as a kid going to this attraction 19 years ago and I was soo terrified seeing the Horned King and my dad recorded it! Years after, I watched the tape and I've always wanted to go back just to see it again! It's a damn shame that they closed it down...a BIG damn shame! The Horned King deserves some disney spotlight!

well, its a neat idea for a ride, but where were the major disney villains??? all i saw was the horned king! where was malificent? ursula? jafar, the evil queen from snow white? thats only a few of the many great ones they didnt include!! and it puzzles me that they would put out an attraction about the black cauldron (one of the worst disney films in history!)but aladdin and the little mermaid still have no full rides? and what about beauty and the beast???

Remember this attraction opened in 1986, before there was a Jafar or an Ursula. The wicked queen and Malificent were included. They were in the first part but the video is kind of dark so its hard to tell. Of course, they weren't fancy AA's like the Horned King.

Because they are there most of them, the big once are first, and then the once that is not so big, But I do like The Horned King, he is one of my favorit Villains, since he is so evil in a way. Disney said themself that they made him a little to scary-looking for kids. But he is cool I think. ^^

the ending reminds me of Poseidons fury at IOA1 Poseidon was a great show but it was very cheesy. even the plot line seems similar. guide takes group on tour of place, mirror or evil thing interupts , tour takes a dark turn thru undiscovered passages. tour is trapped with evil thing threatening, tour guide ( or kid) saves day.

Maybe it closed because it was a walk-through attraction with stairs and in the dark. The exit brings more stairs. Not good for wheel chairs and old people. That´s my impression. But the effects are great! Whis I could see it. Hugs from Brazil.

I've heard how good this was, but after watching parts 1 and 2 it just looked very dull. Perhaps because I couldnt understand it, but it just seemed to be the tour guide being scared, and nothing much else aside dark corridors until the animatronic demon thing.

It just hurts my feelings that Disney doesn't have something like this in WDW. I desperately want a Villains attraction. I'd love something on the lines of this attraction. I really wish they'd stop pretending that The Black Cauldron didn't exist. There were some of us (ehm, me) in the 80s that LOVED that movie. I even had the computer game which I played for hours on end. Seeing the Horned King would have made my year. Thank you for at least filming it so I could see it in some way.

WDW is making a disney villains theme park.Well I know this because my uncle is a disney imagineer,and so is my aunt.They tell me, and my family everything bout disney world,and somtimes,we get to go in2 private areas,and every time we go to disneyworld,we get fastpasses for permanant use. It shows we are family or friends,of the certain imagineer,and they let us through!BUT the disney villain park,(coming soon), is not very good for little kids,bring kids ATLEAST 8 and up.

yeah if u have a family or very close friend hat an imagineer or desighner of rides you can get ALOT of bonuses such as getting into disneyland for free like u said get permanent fast passes learn about the new parks and get a couple of other things most ppl dont know about disney
