I love Mr Bungle. Slowly Growing Deaf is one of my all time favs and I like both versions of the song; this version has more of a raw edge to it though, which does trump the revised piece.

i downloaded this version from napster yeeears ago and bought the Mr Bungle debut album on the strength of it. was disappointed when i found out it was a different version :( i do prefer this one
