  • crank!

  • where is it??? dakhla???

  • Its Sandy Point, Australia

  • Guys and girls: The video has not been sped up. Why would I bother? I had a GPS on this run and got to about 40 knots maximum speed. This is about 20-25knots of wind. I have done a max on other days of 48.5knots. At one stage I had the unofficial world record. Now the record is over 50knots. The board is a specially designed purpose built speed board.

  • so you did the unofficial world record..............

  • Yes. But back in 2005. I did 44.8knots average over 500m. At the time, the official record was 42knots. I had witnesses, and a valid GPS log. It was talked about quite a bit at the time. In a few magazines etc.

  • yea he sped up the camera.........cracked!

  • you sped up the video.. you can totally tell..

  • wow

  • send it man =D

  • So how fast can you go? Has someone clocked this?

  • wheird board

  • weird spelling

  • where did u get the kite

  • at a store

  • Did you have the kite parked? Or were you making subtle movements in the wind window?

  • Which camera do you use?? oregon??

  • man ur cookin

  • where is sandy point?

  • Near Wilsons Prom, which is the southern most point of mainland Australia. This was in Shallow inlet at Sandy Point.

  • Is this on the beach or at Shallow Inlet?

  • oh yeah...look at that wake...and i guess the profile of the board indicates its usage.

  • nah it's legit, he's hit board speeds in the high 40 knots on several occasions

  • but on the video...wow good editing skills..get a normal ride and speed it up...wow.

  • As a hang glider pilot, this is interesting. What is the maximum wind strength you can operate in, or is that down to your weight & strength?

  • heyyy. fellow Hang pilot. It kinda depends, its recommended you dont go with winds more than 20 knots, the better you are and more upper body strength you have, the more wind speed you can go in...as you can probably see its kinda like PG except you land a lot ..LOT harder.

  • Thanks for that, I saw this close up for the first time in Morecambe Bay, England recently. It was quite windy and they where getting 15 maybe 20 metres on occasions but of coarse few where operating longer than 15 minutes in those conditions.

  • hey jetjock- for some us the real fun just BEGINS at 20 knots -to be factual and correct-nobody 'recomends' kiteing in winds of less than 20 knots(beginners excepted of course)I've been out in 35-45 kts+ and had an insanely good time,...there are 5 components to the equation;kite size, board size, wind speed, rider weight/strength,and Balls !!!
