I (the creator of the clip) am dutch my self, its a pitty my clips are beeing used for discussians on a period were al the countries mentioned didn't even exist. The beauty of the roman empire is exactly that Emperors came from al over the empire. Anyway have clip on Diocletian and his tetrachy enjoy !
@RealAlbo4life Julius Caesar fought Pompey with massive fortifications at Dyrrachium nowadays Durres in Albania. Since you live there do you now whether there a still traces visible of these forifications ?
@arjanvanhoorn oo you bet there are!! In the lower Dures (Durachium), there are remains of battles that still exist to this day in Albania. These traces are considered to be by many as the traces from either the war between Julies Caesar and Pompei or the war between Illyrians and Romans.... there are arguments on both sides and there is really no certainty of which war do these remains belong to.
@RealAlbo4life Would love to have a look some day. Julius is the best. Julius and Pompey fought close to the sea. Pompey was posted on the beach and had a line there. Caesar envelopped this line with a line of his own. Pompey was supllied by sea wich made the siege impossible.
I'm not sure that statue is Valentinian III. Most sources say it's more likely Valentinian I. It looks more like his face on the coins, particularly the hair.
hello Arjanvanhoorn how are you my friend, I wanted to say i loved the video and great song selection. Funny how the Ancient Roman History was so Bloody Violent and yet we still are studying and have a since of awe and admiration for them. MY students did a project concerning rome and at the end they came up to me and said how surprised they were that american society and others in the world were so similar to that of the Anicent Romans. I told them the world still carries their ideals.
if they'd had these clips in school it would all have been better...

Julianus the Apostath is the best! A shame he died mysteriously while conquering the Sassanids. He was succeeding!
