There's so much fail in this video. Many due to the 'knowledgeable' rocker. Also he went to the wrong les paul, and jimmy page strat.... no no no no no....
You know what pisses me off, and maybe its just me cuz i wasnt around to see eric clapton in the 60's 70's or 80's, but in all the pictures and footage, i might have seen clapton with maybe 4 of these guitars in here. Blackie, Brownie, Martin acoustic, the red es 335. and the while SG. other then that, its always been Strat strat strat! the Crashocasters are nice but thats in the 00's. Anybody else? help me out people!
@coltsuperocean10 yeah but i never see it, the only real footage was, in cream with that funky sg and one performance with a firebird. also one picture of john mayal and bluesbreakers where eric looks like a mod and is using a les paul, but thats it, ever since its been a strat, except acoustic stuff.
@jasonbear72 haha so true! the little guy is such a loud annoying asshole!
hey mike get over here! you fuckin jerk when im talking you listen anyway... this is a les paul, nothing sounds like a les paul, it was made by les paul, thats why its called a les paul....
I love how they are looking at a les paul standard like its something amazing when they are standing right next to a burst les paul. Shows ya how much this guys friend knows about guitars.
Does any one else think the prices they are guessing they will sell by are really low? Come on, a signed "Lucille" with BB's original case, for $3000? They sell brand new guitars for more. And a Les Paul with signature for $1000? They don't even sell Gibson Les Paul's for $1000, just studios.
"I think it's time to get steve out of here... before he gets any ideas..." I dn't think that dude is capable of getting an idea... "This is BB king... I can spot it a mile away..." yeah... cause it has his name in big Gold letters and a huge LUCILE on the headstock.... FAIL!
This maarshall guy is one of those people that are sucked into the fashion and look of a guitar..he dont care what guitar he plays..as long as it "looks COOL"....what a doosh
les paul did not invent the solid body electric guitar. the les paul was released in 1954. the telecaster was released in 1952...or essentially 1949 as the broadcaster. that was the first solid body guitar. les pauls are fantastic tho. totally different from fenders. i love both coz they achieve different sounds
wrong, les paul invented the solid body electric guitar with his "log" where he put pick ups in a solid piece of wood then the body of an archtop on either side.
fender was the first company to commercially put out a solid body guitar. so you are partially correct.
that guy really ruined this footage for me. completely ignores the cherry red 335 to the left when he's talking about BB's guitar. cherry red is THE guitar! plus the page strat thing. page probably has plenty of strats, but he's not really associated with them. or the windmill for that matter. thats more townsend's territory, right?
Yeah that guy is a complete idiot. You can tell they were really hamming it up for the camera too though. As for the Jimmy Page strat I think that's the one he played at the ARMS concert with Clapton and Jeff Beck. You know he won't give up that 59' Lester of his.
BB King's ES 335 w/ signature est. at 3,000?! Geez I need to get in one of these auctions. That little guy is annoying. Light your fuckin head on fire Froto!
He used a lake placid blue with Zeppelin, during their final years, for some songs. That blue strat I believe they mean it was donate by Page, since it's not the same he used in LZ
Fact: Les Paul did not invent the Les Paul Guitar. But if you ask Les he will tell you he invented fire too. Les was working on the Log with Epiphone and Ted McCarty of Gibson designed the Les Paul and sent a sales person from Gibson to seek the endorsement of Les since he was the guitar slinger of the day.
never mind i did some research and found out that they have never sold Stevies number one the guitar in this vid is one of the fender custom shop relics
