  • Blithe diden't die from that , he died in 1967.

  • He did recover from the sniper wound in the neck, but later on died in 1967...

  • He died in 1967, the sniper had nothing to do with it.

  • @JWillis8910 yep, it was kidney failure i think.

  • he died in 1967

  • he died by Perforated ulcer

    not that

  • Despite what was suggested in the third episode, Pvt. Albert Blithe did not die in 1948. Fellow Easy Company Currahee veterans had thought that Blithe did not recover from his neck wound and had died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1948. He in fact recovered and undertook served several tours in Korea and Taiwan. He died in 1967; due to kidney failure

  • Just to point this out to everybody when Blithe was shot in the neck/shoulder he was shot with wooden bullets. In Bill Guarnere's book he stated he was leading that squad when Blithe got shot, Bill stated "God damn krauts shot Blithe with wooden bullets, what the hell were they doing with wooden bullets? If it were a real bullet he'd be dead.

  • @evanhawk I'd never heard of wooden bullets before but I looked it up and what do you know? Learn something new everyday!

  • He died in 1967

  • realy great work i send all my dudes this link

  • He died of a disease.. he fought in korean. In the series he is shot by a sniper in the neck, in reality he was shot in the shoulder and sent to the hospital.

  • Blithe was also "Trooper Of The Year" in the 82nd Airborne. 1958.

  • Albert Blithe was awarded-

    Silver Star (1).

    Bronze Star (3)

    Purple Heart (3)

as well as the obvious-CIB & AOM

Master Parachutist Badge with over 600 Jumps.

He went on to fight in Korea and re-enlisted again.

He died in 1967 due to complications from a perforated ulcer.

  • @ToaztBusterz yeah he did in 1948 in the hospital, because he wasn't recoveraded.

  • he died in 1948 poor soldier!

  • @90Andros no he didnt

  • @90Andros no he died in 1967

  • i just love the expression on his face when he fires his rifle for the 1st time gives me goose bumps :p

  • Chances are that if you choose Nickleback's music in your video, I don't care for you as a person,

  • Albert Blithe, was NOT killed during ww2 in fact he didn't die till 1967! he made Military service 1942-1967

  • RIP u r a hero

  • Albert Blithe recieved these following badges

    Silver Star

    Bronze Star (3)

    Purple Heart (3)

    Army of Occupation Medal

    Combat Infantryman Badge

  • was he forced to go to war?

  • He actually died in 1967 and it was a shoulder injury and he recovered from it.He later went on to win many award as well at trooper of the year.He joined, left after serving his time, and rejoined many times. He didnt die until over 20 years after he was actually shot in the shoulder

  • Blithe didn't die in world war 2. He died 1966 of perforated ulcer.

  • and in reality he was hit in the shoulder cause if he would have had really been hit in the neck he would have bleed to death cause of the jugular and carotid

  • He died from kidney faillure from an surgery that he had cause he had a perforated ulcer in this movie he was a really scared private but by the time he died he was master sargeant RIP TO A GREAT MAN ALBERT BLITHE

  • whats the music in this vid?

  • I have to say now Blithe was an insperation he didnt die in 1948 like the Book or the T.V show said he did he had an amazing run in the paratroopers and sadly passed away on December 17th 1967 God Bless Him.

Now to "ThPeckerwood310" saying "I wish he died for killing a German" all I can say to that nasty comment is screw you. Albert Blithe was a very emotional person he was brave he had strength he had courage he was a "Brother" of the 506 Easy Company 1st Platoon.

  • i agree with ratedalex

  • damn music needs to go away no offence

  • i wish he died for killing a german

  • did he have some trouble with his head

  • I like to see you back in 1944 with tigers and about 40 krautz shooting at you i think you would piss youre pants

  • It makes me happy to know that blithe actually survived the sniper shot to his neck. It was one of the very few mistakes the movie made

  • Actually in the shoulder.

  • oh ok

  • @ItsTheEvilBurrito he is seen in a hospital with a bandage around his neck while alive you dope

  • @SekoanHD he means hes happy to know that he didnt die of his wounds

  • @ItsTheEvilBurrito Unfortunatley, you and I both know that isn't true.

  • @lukazade101 Look it up.

  • @ItsTheEvilBurrito I have looked it up, no the sniper shot didn't kill him, but it is what lead to his death. So technically it kind of did kill him.

  • @ItsTheEvilBurrito not only that, but he recovered in time to jump at market garden

  • @ItsTheEvilBurrito yes , and he actually got shot in his shoulder according to some relatives.

  • DAMMIT BLITHE WAS THE COOLEST! I always felt like " If i was going to war that would be me" Not in the way that he was my hero just like thats how I think I would take war.

  • Blithe is awesome and people think he's a wuss for not wanting to fight, but I'd like to see many of you fight in this kind of war fair in his position.

  • @RatedAlex Its warfare. and the point is, he had to do so because he is a soldier. it was understandable but not acceptable. Thats basically what spiers told him.

  • Blithe gonna die in the movie BUT he survivor ,he fight in Korean War and he was Sergeant-Majoor!

    Thom

  • wtf asshole, like to see you ever fight in a war. probably just used to videogames for you.

  • i dont give a fuck if your in the army knobhead,

why would you fucking comment like that

  • omg stfu i was kidding around

  • That explains everything

  • RIP Blithe

  • i wondered how he got shot

  • In Normandy he wasn't to much of a fighter, but after having his first kill he was able to gain the courage and volentered to check out a barn, but a sniper hit him in the neck.

  • Blithe actually died in 1967. What a survivor. You would have thought that Stephen ambrose would have searched birth and death records when writing.

  • hi i love this series and blithe is my favorite person in the series but in truth thats not how he died my dad looked him up cant remember but he went on to fight somewhere else but he still dies =(

  • @arvin4445

I think he died in Vietnam... not sure tho

  • @PoppingSanta no he died becuase hes neck 1948

  • @Sonny0612

No he did not. I lnow it says that in BoB but they where wrong.

Don't talk about shit you know nothing about.

    Btw, it's called WIKIPEDIA -.-

  • @PoppingSanta i ded read it exactly after i typed that sorry strange doe that he was going to korea when he was afraid(band ob saying that) and wikipedia says that he was in battle of the bulge and market garden that he wasn't bu you have right

  • @JerryMcJerry considering the korean war finished in the early 1950's

  • @4lifeaussie My bad, not the Korean war, brain fail. And it ended in 1953. Not 1950.

  • @4lifeaussie The Korean war isn't over.

  • @Andreaspaw yeah it is, they fought on 4 to long and realised no one wood win any time soon so they divided the country

  • @4lifeaussie It's only Ceasefire check Wikipedia.

  • Comment removed

  • @arvin4445 Korea? A lot of them went on to fight in Korea.

  • @arvin4445 yeah he lived in phillie afterwards. one of the few major inaccuracies BoB had.

  • @eskimo810 Maybe it's some of those overdramatized thing. I don't know

  • @temistoclebanana you'd think, but honestly so much was based directly on the interviews with the soldiers and it also so true to the book , which was in turn was a first hand account of the war. So alot of things you'd thiink are dramatized really aren't. Blithe losing his eyesight for instance, or the guy getting stabbed in the dark for wearing a german poncho, even though he was yelling his name. Those things really happened.

  • @eskimo810 I'm not saying about those things. But, the thing that they said he died in battle(kinda saying because of the Germans) or the trauma of Winters in episode 5, or that guy Ronald Speirs. We all know there are no Rambos in the world.

  • Sweet jesus why on earth would you put nickelback to this

  • LOL I know your post is 6 months old but I have to restate this for everyone to see.

Sweet Jesus why on earth would you put nickelback to this. seriously.

Other than that, R.I.P Blithe, awesome series Band of brothers, awesome company

  • One of my favourite characters.

  • they found out after he died in 1948, he actually died in 1961, going home from the war, but he didnt come home exactly right

  • it sucks how he gains all his courage then later gets shot in the neck/shoulder area

  • @marine2496 Thats war for you. Some people get shot, some dont. Sh*t happens...Its just war.

  • I think you posted this originally but it got taken off. I was mad, but I like this. Playlisting

  • Just a note: Blithe didn't actually die until 1967.

  • yeah i read that :D they mistaked something in the movie :D

  • no he died in 1945 because of complications do to his neck injury

  • his family said that he didnt die from that injury, which was really a shoulder wound

  • Yeah, you can google him and find out pretty quickly that both the book and movie made a mistake about his date of death. he died in 1967.

  • He didnt die from that wound lol they messed up

  • what is the song called and great vid by the way

  • hero by

     nickleback
