@angel765438 It is because you are more flexible in a different muscle than the muscle that you use for the splits. I am not able to put my foot behind my head but I can do my right and left splits... Does that make more sense.? :)
@polishbloo if you're trying to achieve a full 6 o'clock, having your oversplits makes it easier but you don't have to start out with a perfect line. get your leg up as far as you can and have someone stretch it and in time you'll achieve the 6 o'clock :)
it doesnt really hurt that bad. i practice is where i do it like that, but my back is against the wall for more staility, and a friend pushes my leg up

Having a partner is the best method for sure, but if you don't, try the proflex stretch. You can also measure your flexibility when using it.
