Islam and Honour Killings

Whether honour killings are done for religion or for culture, from a practical perspective IF they are done in the name of that religiion THEN it becomes an issue that needs to be addressed and is best addressed by other fellows of that faith.

It is clear that in some muslim communities honour killings happen and imo it behooves all muslims who can to speak out against it and help to stamp out such barbaric practices.

Honour killings go in Greece..no muslims there..it goes on amongst Hindus and Sikhs in India.....Its not smt that is part of Islam..this is evil cultural madness...where they have an obsession with family respect and for some reason respect seems to lie with female behaviour!So this is cultural evil not religious. Usually where u have strong male chauvenistic attitudes, where men r supposed to be higher than women in all ways+ they need some manner to control women do to their own insecurities
