dude. this is all fine and dandy but its easy to do the right way when your as flexible as she is already. I try and do it the proper way but its just rediculously painful. I am trying to drastically increase my flexibility and its Horrible. From 8 years in the army of doing PT, run's, forced march ect... for long periods and not doing much stretching at all, so now im really tight. How else can i Improve.
If it's painful then you are probably doing it the right way. Just remember to really be warm in your muscles before stretching, because stretching cold muscles are not good for stretching. And if you can't get as far as she can just do it as far as you can in the proper way. :)
