The Magnolia Electric Co. demo is a hell of an album to stumble across when you are down and out (which is exactly where I was when my wife and two kids left during my first year of law school). Rarely has one man and a guitar put so much raw feeling into a series of songs. I went and saw his band the first chance I could, and it wasn't what I was expecting--but his self-consciousness on stage only adds to his authenticity. Glad I found his music and glad you posted this video.

I saw him live last year. At first I was completely confused because he was so cheerful. He'd go into this sort of reverie and sing the saddest song ever, then snap out of it with this big grin on his face and say "thank you kindly". I listen to his music almost every day, especially Let Me Go (x3) and bits I've found off of The Ghost, and Protection Spells etc. Not really into Magnolia electric co. much.
