@midshine65 From what I've seen thus far, the starter character has different clothing depending on different factors you've decided on during the creation process. Such as for humans, their clothing appearance changes depending on whether they grew up in the streets (tattered clothing), a commoner (decent clothing), or a noble (fancy). This however is different for every race, as the Charr don't have things like status as humans do.

There will be options to have different clothes later though.

i find it nice because most guys do infact choose female characters so all these character customization vids feature females so i know my options prior (seeing as im a girl and i plan to play a girl)

@Aceroset4 guild wars trend is pvp and hardcore players will always make female characters... its a way to differentiate newbies... i don't know how this trend started but i expect it to stick in GW2 pvp circles

@Bazompora Actually we spoke with some of the designers and they said that for these demos they had went with a more Ascalonian and Krytan look, but that when the game comes out, you could totally make a Canthan or Elonian type of character. We can therefore expect plenty of perfectly good looking afro-textured hairdo in the future!

We even had Kate Perry say she was working on some kind of cool dreadlock-like hairdo for the sylvaris!

We know what can be done with hair now, but developers tend not to want to spend the processing power on it. It also takes a lot of time and skill, obviously.

Nevertheless, what I love about this game is that the models really look vibrant and alive, like real people, but then there is this slight Asian influence in the art. I just love it.

I figure the game will be out early next year?
