This sounds great! Byron was hard to take for me in concert. I saw him twice back in the day. He screwed around too much in concert and didn't deliver anywhere like on the albums.
Bernie can't be David Byron. That would be a betrayal not only of Byron but of Bernie himself. All he can do is be a Byron-influenced, authentic Bernie. At this task he has excelled. Who among us could ever do better?

Just saw them in concert in Alexandria Va. OMG! A mix of the old and new. Small venue but loud and excellent. I can actually remember the whole evening this time...LOL.

Saw them in Sydney recently and they were a massive disappointment. Really awful mix that assaulted the middle ear, a monotone and uninteresting singer, a drummer that belonged in a thrash metal ensemble and hardly any focus on Mick Box. They played for barely an hour in a shithouse venue with third world seating. $75 I'll never see again. Some things should not be tampered with and I really feel this line up is an insult to the talents of Byron and Hensley

Gotta hand it to Shaw, being a Byron fan most of all, he does an amazing job w/o being a clone and has a long history with the band and a great sound and voice all his own. No slight to Lawton and the singers between Byron and Shaw but I wonder how their career might have faired if they went right into Shaw after Byron or perhaps Lawton and then to Shaw. I became acquainted with Heep back in 1975. I was 15 and was about all I listened to -- on 8-track and LP. Got to see them in Memphis in 1982 (I think) in a very small room. It was wonderful.
Not bad Berni. Its a long way from the drum corp, jamming with John Carter, or hanging out by the creek behind Oak Bay High. It must be fun doing that job( what you love) rather than punching a clock.
One of the best band ever. Incredible songwriting, and the most amazing bass player (RIP Gary Thain). 1973 Uriah Heep live is the best live album ever.
What else is cool about concerts from 70's bands...it is the only kind of concert where it is totally legal to smoke pot.(google it!!!) Otherwise 98% of the audience will be lost. THOSE were the days.
I saw them back in the 70's a few times, one time with Paul Butterfields Blues Band And Manfred Mann it was a great show. Lee Kerslake is one of my favorite Drummers. HEEP Kicks Ass !
Can someone tell me which DVD this is on? I have The Magicians Birthday Party and Acoustically Driven DVD's & the sound quality on both is excellent. A few days ago I played a couple songs off those DVDs for a young friend who's never heard / seen Heep B4, and he declared them the best live band he'd ever seen on DVD. :-)

Surely John Lawton put the spark back in to Uriah Heep, he,s untouchable when it comes to music.For all the singers Heep,s had they all been great in the memories will live on

Gotta hand it to Shaw, being a Byron fan most of all, he does an amazing job w/o being a clone and has a long history with the band and a great sound and voice all his own. No slight to Lawton and the singers between Byron and Shaw but I wonder how their career might have faired if they went right into Shaw after Byron or perhaps Lawton and then to Shaw. Yeah yeah, I know Abominog...just ranting...how 'bout more people need to hear MORE of this band's catalog outside of Easy Living sheesh

I became acquainted with Heep back in 1975. I was 15 and was about all I listened to -- on 8-track and LP. Got to see them in Memphis in 1982 (I think) in a very small room. It was wonderful.

Not bad Berni. Its a long way from the drum corp, jamming with John Carter, or hanging out by the creek behind Oak Bay High. It must be fun doing that job( what you love) rather than punching a clock.

One of the best band ever. Incredible songwriting, and the most amazing bass player (RIP Gary Thain). 1973 Uriah Heep live is the best live album ever.

What else is cool about concerts from 70's bands...it is the only kind of concert where it is totally legal to smoke pot.(google it!!!) Otherwise 98% of the audience will be lost. THOSE were the days.

I saw them back in the 70's a few times, one time with Paul Butterfields Blues Band And Manfred Mann it was a great show. Lee Kerslake is one of my favorite Drummers. HEEP Kicks Ass !

Can someone tell me which DVD this is on? I have The Magicians Birthday Party and Acoustically Driven DVD's & the sound quality on both is excellent. A few days ago I played a couple songs off those DVDs for a young friend who's never heard / seen Heep B4, and he declared them the best live band he'd ever seen on DVD. :-)

no musical genius as Ken Hensley on todays music scene. I wish there was, but it's just impossible to find one ... cuz there aren't any ...

@imiocic if u truly believe that there are not any musical genius in todays scene your not looking hard enough in my opinion, if u like uriah heep then you should look into euro metal such as blind guardian, and demons and wizards, very powerful bands.
