hey, i am going to start playing a 5 string bass and car't decide between this bass and the Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass V Active 5 string. has anyone got any views on wich one is the best.
i just bought this exact same bass, same color too!..i got it for $215....$227 out the door,,,there was a sale. and they marked it wrong!..it was supposed to be $279 marked down from $349...I love this bass!!!
i have this bass and im sorry but i hate it. there is so much rattle and the A string is just awful. there is so much rattle i just dont even bother to play it. i cant wait until i get my new schecter stilleto studio 5.
@MattSmith166 ibanez's are great for playing korn, if it has active pickups and 5 strings you should be able to get a good sound out of it. also, fieldy use's the ibanez k5 which is an amazing bass (i got one recently lol)
@MattSmith166 I have the SR305 and I play a lot of korn. I think that you can get a great "korn" sound out of it, it's crazy easy to play and with a good setup you can get a great sound out of it.
great demo vid! that said, I ended up taking that bass back....I thought the B string was weak and it was hard to get an even tone across the board. That was a 2008 model. If anyone's wondering, I think it's well worth the extra money to get the next model up (sr405qm) or the 505 is killer if you can afford it!
Thank you so much for that demo! I was just checking out a Sr305 at the Music Center and it had me Drooling! Definitely going to pick it up with my next tax return check! That's a sweet stack you've got there! I take it you're a professional Bass Player?
I tried the 4 string version to check the sound, and I just love the feel and tone I got with it:D Not to mention it makes fingerpicking way easier for some strange reason
I just went to Guitar Center today and tried this bass out and WOAH!! I loved the feel. It's slim and smaller neck compared to my Schecter Stilleto Studio 5. Im purchasing a used one in the coming week.
@MendingSilence See if the frets have raised from where they are supposed to be. Try using a hammer to SOFTLY tap the frets down to resting flush with the fretbaord. Also, make sure the truss rod is straight. If you dont know what you are doing take it to a professional. Also you might have to adjust the neck angle of the bass where it bolts onto the body. It could also be that the nut is cut too low (if only open strings buzz. Your best bet is to get it looked at by a pro.
@WhamAndRun the b string is knid of loose. but the neck is a long scale neck so its not too bad. im using the standard 130 gauge string. Compared to other basses its normal. No bass has a B string as tight as, say, a D or G string.
@WhamAndRun You could go with a 35" neck such as there is on BTB 5 string and 6 string basses, I myself use a BTB tuned G-C-F and so on and I had never problems with the B string being loose
Thanks for the review, might be picking one of these up tomorrow =).

Did you experience much noise with this bass? I've also got one, but the amount of noise is driving me crazy, especially when turning the HF EQ up.

Great video dude! I just bought this bass today and I am quite impressed with it, not too costly for the performance you get.

Do you know of anyone who has strung this particular model EADGC? If so how well does the neck handle the tension?

Nice vid! I have the SR305M (maple fingerboard) and love it. It feels great and has a nice thin neck which makes fast play easy.

does this guitar has an extra low string or a high string?
Erithlon 1 year ago
@Erithlon 5 strings are just an extra low string added on, but u cud tune it up to high c if u wanted and turn the 5th into the E instead of B
