I think this will move more people into conservative Judiasm, as some feel that Reformed Judaism is too secular and Orthodox Judaism is too out-of-touch with reality. Some people will probably leave, but not many. Most devout conservative Jews are too attached to their branch of Judaism, their familiy and relationships within their synagogue to consider abandoning it.

But the fact that a religion from which the entire Christian community sprang would be the first to go there? I'm pleasantly surprised. I only hope that my own church (Roman Catholicism) will follow suit, but I have my doubts on that.
I think all this means is that the Conservative movement recognizes the fact that there are gays within their movement. There are gay orthodox rabbi's as well, although they are few and far between and are definitely not "endorsed" by the movement.
Rabbi Steve Greenberg, the first openly gay Orthodox rabbi, has written on INCREDIBLE book on homosexuality and Orthodox Judaism called "Wrestling With God and Men". Read it. It's really fantastic.

Well I believe that the only honest Jews are the one's that maintain the belief that homosexual acts are sinful and simply cannot be promoted among society. Both the Torah and the Bible clearly state that these acts are sinful, and it is clear to me that any homosexual acts are contrary to what can be perceived as natural!

They broke the commandment, worse yet they placed their iniquity at the feet of God in scripture, and generated ENORMOUS unnecessary suffering in doing that. I think it was about time for Jews to right the wrongs of their ancestors.

conservative and reform "rabbis" have nothing to do with Judaism. Real Judaism isnt done with a vote, but what G-d gave as law.
- bring more members HAAA, the children of most conservative and reform Jews leave their religion and marry non-Jews, some are lucky and smart enough to investigate real Torah Judaism and follow it.

And since you've probably never been to one, the only major difference between most Conservative services and most Orthodox services is that there's more singing the prayers at Conservative Shuls (there is sometimes a choir), and men and women sit together (though there is always segregated seating for those who choose it.)

Haaa, this is truly Laughable. Yes I am familiar with that story, but it does not mean that ANY Hacham is allowed to step outside of what is permitted. Thats why it says if your Rabbi says right is left or left is right, then you listin to him, because right and left depends on where one is standing, BUT it doesn't say if the Rabbis say call night day and day night, in fact REAL Rabbis like Rabbi Mizrachi would say that you have to get rid of a Rabbi like that. Dont follow him and expose him.

The torah doesn't waste a word (black fire on white fire);then why does it say et zachar? Rabbi Steve Greenberg, in his book (READ IT!) interprets that to mean women AND men, & mishkevei ishah to mean sex for the purpose of humiliating someone. Another Rabbi (I don't remeber his name, but he is one of the greats whose word is law) says its placement following the prohibitions of ioncest is to command men not to commit incest wiht other men, even tho the list only secifies female relatives.

Conservative judaism isnt the largest sect. Most jews are just not religious at all. 2nd conservative arent in the middle. Chassidic->Orthodox->Modern Orthodox->Conservative->Reform->Humanistic. Bigger umbrella then what you tlaked about lolz. I am orthodox and im not really strict, Im modern.

The fact that any mono-theistic religion would challenge the traditional view on marriage is absolutely amazing to me. But the fact that a religion from which the entire Christian community sprang would be the first to go there? I'm pleasantly surprised. I only hope that my own church (Roman Catholicism) will follow suit, but I have my doubts on that.

I think all this means is that the Conservative movement recognizes the fact that there are gays within their movement. There are gay orthodox rabbi's as well, although they are few and far between and are definitely not "endorsed" by the movement.
