  • I love this video, but I have a question. I see you do the line art in pencil, but you are super detailed from rough to final line art. The video went so fast, it was a little confusing to see just how you did the line art. As far as I get it, you draw/trace the line art multiple times, and even flip it over to see more detail. How many times did you do that, and how did you start coloring it without the help of the light box being on?

  • :O amazing!! But what did you do for the background? Paint? Or markers? it all looks so awesome!

  • @HEARTluv17 I think it's prisma color markers, it gives the same kinda look as water color sometimes.

  • I didnt want this video to finish :( its to fabulouse to finish

  • That thing you do with your pencil on the side of your hand instead of holding it right is very awesome! i cant do it because my hand wont let me.

    Its in timeout now.

  • wow, looks like it's been taken from a real cartoon

  • I feel like Im high, the painting moves too fast and I cant concentrate on what your doing. love the picture though!

  • Yeah what pens are those? :]

  • what markers did you use?

  • Oh My Freaking G! I sat here gaping at how amazing it was to watch you do that.

I wanted to cry just a little bit.( In a good way) =')

  • WAY better that MLP:FIM !! : )

  • WTF billie's a girl?!?

    i just thought was androgynous

  • So cute.

  • WAIT. BILLIE'S A GIRL!? O:

  • Do Sly Cooper next please

  • Truely amazing, even moreso to see the work being crafted ...

  • was that a sly cooper sketch at 0:13?

  • I have no idea what this book is even about, but I want it simply from seeing this amazing cover art!

I saw some Prismacolor markers, Copic markers, and Micron pens. Any other supplies go into making this that I missed? Other than the no 2 pencil lol.

  • that is really cool! how long did it actually take?

  • PRETTY ART MUST BE PRETTY WOMAN

  • How many times did you sketch that out?

  • damn i would need that a bit slower XD I never thougth to use all the colours that way....now I feel so stupid and plump XD

  • I... I... :O

So much amazing just happened in such a short time! Hopefully this book will be on my shelf soon <3

  • Prancing unicorn~! That's amazing! I'm going to buy this book. So what if I am a 22 years old ex-commando? Letting my childish desires flourish without fear is more badass than anything else in this world!

Uh, by the way.... uh, will this come out in Israel? Or I will I have to order it online or something?

  • Amazing! Digital Coloring?...easy pie. Watercoloring?...messy but do-able. Oil Painting?...bold and simple to manipulate.

But markers? Whenever I try to color with markers, all I can think of were my coloring books becoming oversaturated by the Crayola 8 color magic markers I owned. Every time I tried, I end up with a brown mess of colors. My fingers were the only colorful thing out of the whole venture.

So needless to say, this is quite impressive. Good luck with your book sales.

  • I feel silly now XD I always wondered how someone with markers could make details so sharp but not seem overbearing. You're coloring abilities amaze me ^_^

  • ...oh jeez, my heart can't take it.

I am flatlining from how absolutely adorable and magical this looks.

    I AM DYING

  • This is beautiful. <3

  • OMG, this is soooooooooo cute ; w ;!!

  • Awesome video!!! But I kinda had to fast forward it cause all the moving around was making me dizzy haha but are you using prismacolour or copic or both? Also, how do you do the shading with the colour markers I kinda fail at using them and grayscale :/

  • Is that Sly Cooper at 0:13 ? It needs to be uploaded at some point!

I really liked watching you do this, I love watching artists do their magic.

  • @Hosaka That is for another time. :) Can't say if it is, or isn't.

  • Holy COW!!!!! Err..... unicorn. That was impressive. Can u tell me where to go and learn the entire processes of what was done? Please and thank you.

  • @hitoyurri Just draw alot, keep a sketchbook, practice, but have fun! I went to Calarts for character animation, but was drawing before that. If I get brave I'll try doing a step by step video in the future, but keeping a sketchbook is the best advice I've gotten from others. :)

  • When I first saw this cover I thought it was digital. It's very reassuring to see such beautiful work still being done with traditional media. :)

  • @razzmecotl Thank you! I think even people who work digitally, still probably sketch with paper and pencils on their off time. There is something that digital just can't quite get the same way a good ol' pencil can.

  • I've never seen anyone use a lightbox like that, its...inspirational :O

  • @starbomber I lightbox can be a really useful tool. :)

  • Holy Fuck

  • ENVY! and yet....IIIINSPARRRR(rolling Rs)ATION!

Seriously makes me want to try new styles, and just get better in general.

  • Love it! :D

  • CONFOUND THESE PONIES

  • @Pikoble Ha ha ha!!!

  • i love it :3

  • what's it about?

  • A unicorn who learns where her heart belongs. :)

  • the time lapse makes my eyes go funny O_o lol nice job :)

  • aaaawesooome =D

  • Very nice illustration! Copic markers are so amazing. I'd love to see the whole book. When is it being released?

  • Woah! I want to fill a 'magic treasure toy chest' for my friend's kids, and this book MUST be included! (even though the kids don't understand a word of English. But meh, Auntie will translate :)

  • @AFHEntertainment You are such a nice Aunt! A "magical treasure chest" sounds exciting, lucky kids!

  • @potatofarmgirl Hahah well what can I say, Auntie just so happens to like toys and childrens' books, herself ;) Plus, when I look back at my childhood, nothing was more exciting than opening a big box to see what secrets it contained (surprisingly, my parents did not name me Pandora..). I have to wait till upcoming thursday, though... I get to hear if I get my dream-house, then!

  • This makes me super jealous of your incredible marker abilities... like I haven't been for yearws or something.. Killer stuff sistah girl... cant wait for the book!

  • @BigMaizeKid Wee! I can't wait for it either, the actual copies will be in the states next month. Marker is fun, but I need to start playing around with digital some more. :)

  • You're so damned amazing.

  • @americanninjax Ha ha, thanks! I didn't know you had some drawing videos on youtube. Subscribed!

  • For months now, I just keep coming back to this video. Can't get over how amazing it is.

Billie is so freaking cute. I've been plugging the book everywhere I can but my audience is pretty small. I hope it sells well.

Also, such a great song! I need to buy that as well.

  • @SeventhSwell Thank you! I hope it does well too, but I'm pretty happy that it's getting made. Thank you again for the support!

  • woah! that looks so much like a vector drawing, Good Job! :)

  • I've seen a lot of your work on dA, it's all fantastic. I wish you much luck with the book, and i was wondering, what kind of markers do you use??

  • @RosesEntwined I use mostly Copics and Prismacolor markers. :)

  • Pretty nails! (:

  • lol every time you make one of these videos they have the greatest music :D so i get an AMAZING art lesson AND something nice to listen to whenever IM drawing X) Thankyou!!! :DD

  • @piercesonya Your welcome! ^u^ I'm glad you enjoyed Keiko's music too, her album is a good one to listen too when I need some pep!

  • I love this! Great work!

  • That was fantastic! I love the composition and you have mad coloring skills. Wow... awesome! congrats on the book! The animation at the end was wonderfully done too, so smoothly animated.

  • @EEKentertainment Thank youuu!!!!!!

  • Wow, it's a bout time you're getting recognized for your talent. Anyways, I'll probably be buying your book for my nephew. Good luck with your book, let's hope it leads to the opportunity to do something animated!

  • @cowsforliyyfe Thank you! There are some robots in the book, so hopefully your nephew will like them!

  • That animation at the end was awesome!

  • I love these little videos you do, please do more. :)

  • @msmachima I'll try to have a couple more in 2011, I would like to post more animation, but it takes alot of time for me to polish them up. :)

  • Damn, I always loved your work... I really need to practice marker - it's just a nice, clean look. I'll be looking out for this book.

  • @RotitaYamaneko Thanks! It should be out in March, but just in case there is a delay with printing, it will be at least sometime this spring.

  • Wowwwwwwwww

  • Very awesome! I loved the animation at the end =)!

  • That is AMAAAAZING! My head's gonna explode with jealousy!

  • @moealharbi No explodey!

  • Super DUPER awesome. How long did this piece take you to do altogether? I'm so incredibly impressed! <3

  • @TheDoodlibop It was stretched out over four days, after work. So not really sure, but I think I had around 6 hours of video I had to squish down. :)
