I have been using it since 1995. Recently, I am in a need of some parts. Unfortunatley, I cannot reach customer service. I wrote to many places, but to no avail. No answer from the States nor Europe. Now, I am staying in Poland, I have a qustion, too. Jus how reliable these readings concerning burnt calories are ? I step down from the machine dripping with sweat...... the meter shows tells me I skied away 800 cal..... is it true? Please respond, whoever.

@Ikar49 The calorie readout is not too accurate.Just use it as a guide. If your dripping with sweat, that means you've had a good workout and shouldn't worry too much about the calorie burn.As for parts, check Ebay.
It takes some skill to use this machine. It really simulates cross country skiing.
Properly adjusting the ski tension makes a REAL difference in whether you will be able to do this.
I tested guy machines with a heart rate montior and found that to get your heart rate up and keep it there that: this machine (or eliptical) and the Concept II rower give one a full body workout as good as anything around. However, it does take some athleticism to use.
De verdad los leotardos o trusas deben de volver a estar de moda; pues se ven muy elegantes con estas prendas no como hoy en dia con esos pantalones bota de campana de algodon todos feos.
"NordicTrack Skier,...may not build muscle, reduce fat,..or anything it's supposed to do for that matter,...but man is it hilarious at parties...OR, NordicTrack Skier,..everyone should try just once." Good sport!
If this machine does not build muscle, or help to reduce fat, then how do you explain that Nordic still sells this item to this very day 20 years later? I somehow doubt that people would cough up the $600 dollars now, just so they could get a good laugh. Sounds like a pretty sucessful product. Try using this machine under a covered patio with a heat index of say at least a 100 degrees. Even with a fan blowing, you will dump the fat and tone your muscles.
lol there are allot of suckers out there. To be honest Im surprised to hear that Nordic Track is still selling, but where? I dont see the commercials anymore. You sound like either your one of the suckers who dropped $600 on this crappy product or your a company rep, either way you need to try to laugh every once in a while.
