@ThatWelshman My first online FPS was technically Unreal 1, but the netplay was so bad when the game first came out I dropped it.

The first online FPS I really got into was Tribes 1. Even today, that game is just amazingly fun.

@Two49 Well like @55#0|_35 everyone has their own opinion. HOWEVER, Mech Warrior is pushing that you're in a HUGE robot, where as the Gears are not quite as big. They're more of what I like to call a 'land mate' class mech. closer to the size of what you saw in the Appleseed manga. However they're slightly bigger than most of those too.

The pvp was the best part about this game. I liked using the lightgear cheetah mkII. It was faster with turns and control. It was so unfortunate that this game has become a memory. They could've done so much more with the 3rd game. Like making more weapons effective against the big spenders tend to be heluva strong against just about everything. Except rockets, rails, gat-lasers etc....

It's a mech simulator, it belongs on the PC. Otherwise it just doesn't seem right. The PS3 doesn't have joystick support either.

Contrary to FPS games, mech sims would be just as good on the console as they are on the PC.
