Evil will exist in this world always. Look around to see how easily it spreads, instead of taking a stand before it takes hold; humanity collectively looks away, waiting for someone else to act. The malevelence grows so large that instead of trying to solve problems with our God given intellect, people pick up arms first.
We have some leaders in the world who may not respond with the "shoot first, ask questions later" axiom. God knows everyone has had enough of war, and hate .
But we must be responsible to stop these mad-men before they can build up their followers into blood-thirtsy crowds who see only hatred and not human beings. It is easy to fire a gun at hatred. It is not so easy to murder a human being.
Not all the sacrifice was in vein. Sometimes the sacrifice is made to defeat evil. As sad as that may seem. As long as there are those who desire to subjugate their fellow mankind, there will be those who will answer the call. Perhaps someday mankind willrise above it.
I drawn to see this video again and again. All those who persihed should be remembered/ Perhaps the only time a call to arms seemed necessary was to stop Nazi agression
Cool montage. Yup, war is, by definition, a waste. The expending of resources solely to destroy another's resources and will. Take care, however, to not focus too much on effect at the expense of analyzing cause. Beware generalities. When and why do people feel compelled to war? And just as important: When and why are they not?
Two years in Iraq do have an effect on you and the way you look at war. I assure you that body bags are not a pretty sight. Even so you are right pointing to the need to analyze the causes. Hindsight is so unbearably clear. If only those who make the decisions could see them from the hindsight perspective before they make them. Alas, while this would be the ideal world, reality is something quite different.
It is of course necessary to try to understand why people may feel compelled to go to war, and there may be rare occasions when you have no other option.
Where indeed?

i think every generation needs to reminded how cruel war is....
those that are not directly impacted will be able to relate to the pain and cruelity...
a century passes and people will forgot, with growing generations...
so keep the songs playing...and always remind the of the crual reality...
R.I.P ...to all those have given their lives
