A month ago I got the heart wrenching news that my son has 3 years to live, if that. This song breaks my heart. As his mother I am devastated. I once thought life was the misfortunes of the little obstacles that you face daily until this. Hold on tight to your children, they are your legacy appreciate every minute you have with them. Nothing in life a new car your home nothing is as important as your child. All material things can be replaced but your children are priceless.

One of the most beautiful songs ever written. I'm a 40 year old man and I'm not ashamed to admit it always makes me cry. It could have been written for my mom who died 5 years ago, she killed herself with an overdose and I had to sit and watch her fade away over 2 days on a life support machine. She was one of the strongest people I have ever known but depression got the better of her sadly. The lyrics are spot on. God bless you mom, miss you and love you always X X X

@TomboyKris My dad died on April 5th this year and I was holding his hand when he took his last breath, I watched them shut the heart drip off, as we requested cause my dad did not want to be put on life support, you are right it is something you will never forget and most definately the most difficult thing I have been through yet. rest in Paradise dad I love u

I love this song and I love James Blunt. But I really pity some of the people that have commented here. One word- hypocrites.
