As the owner of an Olde English Bulldogge who would trip and smash his teeth out if he ever tried to catch a rat. I must say I absolutely love watching these terriers do what they were breed to do! It's in their blood and you can tell they love it. Watching dogs work is amazing.
@candycrayon. As you may also have observed a cats likes to play with its prey and doesnt have the jaw power of a terrier. a good pack of ratting terriers kill alot faster and can kill as many rats in a day as a cat would kill in its life!. a dog gets it over and done with!

M8 it sounds like your dog was never trained, you need to establish yourself as pack leader before you attempt anything, check out the dog whisperer, Cesar Milan and other trainers, but you really need to break your terrier of stock!!
