Then sold the idea's to foreigner's ( AND LOW AND BEHOLD) imports are now possibly better than vehical's made in U.S.A. ! It was 1948 - It was capable of 130MPH and got over 20MPG? Hmm, flash forward 60+ years to 2010 and the auto-makers are all bitching and whining about how "difficult" it is to get good gas milage on cars. What a crock of shit. Tucker is another example of surpressed or destroyed or "shelved" technology. It was a threat to the powers that be and they wanted a monopoly on power and technology and control. ROLLED 3 TIMES at 95MPH? I saw a 2008 Mercedes SL 500 rolled just onced - it was DESTROYED!

cars have to be "destroyed" after a crash, thats how they absorb energy to safe passengers lifes. Compared to any modern car with 166hp 20mpg isn't good. You can buy a modern diesel Car with 200hp, 150 mph 30mpg. Americans always had convienient, huge cars with automatic (which wastes a lot of gasoline therefore it was never popular in Europe). But american cars never had been smart.

Would the Tucker have been able to take over the automotive industry? Maybe, maybe not. But had the company been given the chance to build the car, and given the money and the time needed to build the car, it may have been an alternative to what Detroit auto makers were building at the time.
