  • Sloppy is the word for the soloist and diction in general... even though its Beirut those with english as their native language can still master french etc why the difference here?

  • Yes, this isn't the best interpretation of the Faure. But please take note of the group performing. It's the American University in Beirut, for Heaven's sake. How large is the school? How large is the music department? Maybe this group represents the only 30 students on campus who were interested in singing western music that year. As a choral music educator, I have to say that sometimes, you work with what you have. This director gave these students the gift of the Faure Requiem. Bravo.

  • oh god this soloist is dreadful

  • Plus there's that narcicistic idiot right behind the soloist thinking he is the star. What a tool!

  • The tempo is also a little fast. Looks like the conductur is trying to hold them back tough. But i agree with those before me, they could use some Latin traineing.

  • WOW! That is some terrible soloing.

  • @holyshea thank you... I thought I was being overly critical. There's no emotion. There's no depth in the delivery. There's no stage presence and he gets a little flat at :58. Their Latin pronunciation sucks!

  • Where is this school? Is the soloist a student or faculty?

  • the choir is good but where is the emotion in this piece? especially in the soloist?
