  • Nice work! Thanks for this.

  • wow! that was the most densely packed, high value info, 20 min vid i think i've ever seen....awsome info! tyvm!

  • It changes the game when thinking about having to join forces with people you never thought you would work with!!! Thanks for the great video and pointing that out! Be safe

  • Sounds on how to deal with your girl friend or wife, but very good info MMCS USN

  • @CP91311: Extended applications, yes! Many blessings, brother, and thanks for serving --GM

  • Well said, I am a fellow service member and fully understand your points. There is many different opinions on how to survive but most have no real world experiences.

  • Very informative and well said. A lot of these strategies are also very useful in the work environment when you often have to deal with unhappy and confrontational people.

  • Very informative and well-spoken. I've learned some very important things today. Thank you very much.

  • WOW...! What words of wisdom, my brother... and such a refresher course for me. I find myself slipping sometimes, but all is well. -Peace

P.S. Destructo turned me on to your channel, and I am thankful he did... definately subbed!

  • One the constant things I had always taken away from any time that I trained or got to work with Special Forces was they would always tell me.... "Adams... knowing your weapons systems and how to effectively use them in combat is essential... but any day we can do a mission and not fire a single round from our weapons is a great day" I have always kept that with me. Glad to see and hear these concepts again. Thanks so much.

  • Oh, MAN! ... If I had only heard this message (and taken it to heart) over 30 years ago, my life would have worked out SO much better ! Duh! ... Why oh why did this truth elude me (why did I ignore it) for so very many years ?! ... DOH ! I was kicking myself all the way thru this "lecture" ... *I* am the guy that has been doing all this "exactly wrong"!. I knew enough to know that weapns come last ... That it is better to "steer around" conflict, whenever possible. But that's it.

  • Awesome insight. Not only is it a good survival tactic, it is a good way to be successful in general. My big take away: work on clout, wasta, and building networks of influence early... you just can't cram that in a Bug-out bag next to the gas mask; no matter how hard you try. DOL

  • @MrJmfitch: Many thanks, brother. Glad I could be of some help --GM

  • top notch advice bud .

but you forgot probably one of the most important parts.

    eye contact.

eye contact means more to peoplethan folks realise.

remove eye wear and the talks should be eye to eye as that installs a certain trust from the begining.

  • WOW GM, this is some of the most useful information I have seen in a long time. THANK YOU!

  • @CMDB201: You're quite welcome, my brother! Hope you're doing well and are continuing on with your preps! Many blessings --GM

  • Another great lesson, thank you.

  • Recently found your channel and I am very impressed by your knowledge and your wisdom. The videos are straight forward, no-nonsense and very informative. I learned many things I had not even considered - job well done. And please know that there are many of us who deeply appreciate all the time and effort that you put into your channel. I would love to learn your thoughts on home fortification and preparations for defending same. Regards, and stay safe. RD

  • Hey just wanted to say thanks for what you do. You have great insight and bring knowledge in a manor that is very helpful. So again thanks and keep the videos coming. :)

  • Thank you for this series,,,,GM

  • These are the same tactics used in dating and marriage...;-).

  • There are a bunch of us waiting for a PART 2 for this video. Do you plan to make another vid on this subject?

  • @Doomjunkie: Coming up shortly. Many blessings --GM

  • Thank you, cant say how much I appreciate this channel. -Honorably Discharged Light Infantryman 25th ID

  • I have watche this video numerous times and I will probably watch it many more. The negotiations 101 aspect in particular I find extremely useful for my current situation dealing with board members. The question now is when will we see a book authored by you concerning these topic? I prefer print to a monitor.

  • Are seals, delta force, rangers considered special forces? are there actually black ops or is that hollywood?

  • i wish you could tell us more about your field experience i have always been facinated with guerilla and unconventional warfare...

  • #1 threat of death or serious injury to a survivalist will be "a malfunction or negligent discharge of your mouth".Got to be best saying I have heard in a while!

  • These are great words to live by about life thanks again you got great video's

  • Good mindset. Think I'll sub ya.

  • De oppresso liber

  • Perfect Guide - Who Dares Wins -

  • Love this video. Could you please elaborate on this and other unconventional warfare concepts.

  • Can we please get a part 2 ? That would be awesome! Don't you think so?

    :D

  • amen for that brother^^

  • Instant sub. Excellent breakdown. Forthright and easy to understand. Applies everywhere. Thank you Sir for your time and effort. Doc.

  • GM: great video. You make the point that we should all take to heart -- words are the most powerful weapon that we have to make changes happen. Understanding how to negotiate is how how we learn to use our words to get what we want. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and upload it! • I am so sick of hearing tactical this and tactical that. Red Dawn was a film and nothing like real life. I love this video. Thanks for uploading it.

  • Priceless.

  • Simply outstanding. Thank you.

  • Seems like good advice for any situation one may find them selves in. Clearly and well presented Thank you for sharing this information. Do you have plans for more videos?

  • @justgabe100: I would concentrate on finishing one at a time. Thanks for watching, and many blessings --GM

  • Cool video. Just curious, which branch of the military, unit and years did you serve?

Also, I really wish you'd let all (non-spam) comments through.

  • @MrTangent: As my channel profile clearly states, I served in the "U.S. Army" Special Forces. Unless I've develop a relationship with an individual (i.e, know who YOU are), I will never offer identifying details of my service - for security reasons. I hope you can honor this. By the same token, comments are screened for security purposes as well. 95% of comments make it through, however. Many blessings --GM

  • @AnalyticalSurvival Alright. I should have seen your profile page, my apologies. Just curious, did you get SERE training?

  • Its too bad that all those jackass rambos on youtube dont wanna listen to this

  • Sun Tzu all the way and then some,in spades!!

  • Your knowledge impresses me.

  • Great video, very informative and temptingly unconventional....

I would like to ask a couple of questions though:

    1. What sources of information /actual training, books etc./ would you recommend in respect to developing advanced negotiation skills?

    2. What is your "personal methodology" when defining the "thin red line" between going conventional over unconventional? - How to develop a personal approach, based on the local environment.

    Thank you.

  • your wife is lucky got a twin?i've always wanted to know survival tactics and more now that i have kids i have that fear of what if i'm not prepared and can't protect my kids how do say good bye. knowing they all died together but they died.i'm very over protective of my kids. so thank you for the vids they really opened my mind and got me thinking.

  • this is great info. for everyday life..

  • Even it is a few hard to well "deep" understand for me.. I understood that a smart leaded negocition is rather better than the "rambo" solution in a time of conflit.

  • Great video. Thanks for making it and putting it out.

  • Great video my friend. Thank you.

  • Great video..... I am going to learn a lot from you and I am glad I found your channel. Thank you very much.

  • You just don't find many videos of this nature on YouTube. Certainly not enough. Very insightful, comprehensive and informative. Well done my friend.

There is nothing more impressive than a person that can control his/her emotions, harness diplomatic negotiating skills and use his/her number one weapon (the brain) to negotiate any obstacle. I love it.

  • I subscribed to your channel just because of this awesome vid. I really like your style.

Any chance we could get a part 2 for this video. I was hoping for some advanced negotiation sills sets.

    Keep up the good work!

  • You sir are a genius! Love your videos they've taught me a lot. Thanks.

  • Good stuff.

  • Interesting. Sun Zhu said the same things a few thousand years ago.

We also see examples of these very actions in the Warring States Period of Chinese History.

This goes to show us, that the more things change the more they stay the same, or people are the same throught out history.

  • i got the language requirement in russki, but im working on deutsch

  • Thanks for this vid !

  • I like both the tack you take, and the delivery in which its sent, always clear and empathic in message, Thanks AS

  • @AnalyticalSurvival - GM, Thank you for doing this. Alot of insight that will prove invaluable should the need arise! Which unfortunately my feeling is, it will.

  • The politics of work environments can serve as a great place to hone these skills (violence excluded of course). It's easy to see each of the negotiating techniques and shifting alliances unfold. As most companies down size, the threat of becoming unemployed is all too real. These tactics may just be the ticket to keeping a paycheck!

  • What an awesome vid. Too many people on here think that WROL is an excuse to shoot people with their kick ass tactical gear. You present the opposite more practical side of the coin with great clarity. Great vid and great channel.

  • Excellent! This has needed to be said for a long time. keep it up please.

  • @ AnalyticalSurvival - WOW This is a great addition to the community! You are one of my favorite channel. Thank you for the great work. ~General Biggs~

  • Probably one of the best video’s you and anyone has put out on WROL. I like that saying “verbal negligent discharge”.

  • Another great video! Thank you sir for your continued effort to educate the YouTube community. The quality of content in your videos is second to none! We appreciate it!

  • Great video!

  • Hey GM I must say This Video is Needed on here Soo Many have it all wrong and I believe You are Right on target . Great Job ! All Your Videos Are well thought out and Informative

  • @PhotographerFX: Much gratitude, brother! Stay tuned and stay safe --GM

  • @AnalyticalSurvival

This is great, but how do I make like a ghost (metaphorically)? If SHTF I wouldn't want to talk to anyone and I wouldn't want anyone to talk to me. I would want to live off the land peacefully and avoid conflict at all cost. If someone is imposing on my ability to live I would meet them with a passive resistance. If I am imposing on someones resources unknowingly I will take what I need and never return. The way I see it, if I have to shoot - I fail. How do I do this?

  • @AnalyticalSurvival N/P GM Ive been checking back with your Channel on the regular Hope to see More from ya dude

  • great work. thx and blessings.

  • VERY awesome video. This is highly overlooked and highly needed as the first resort not the last one.

  • @MAGF00L: Thanks for your kinds words. I'm honored just to be of some help to others. Many blessings, my friend! --GM

  • @DeleteMeOnline: Thanks, my friend! I'm in the process of making a follow-up video and I'll make some book suggestions then. --GM

  • I must admit, I am often one of those you spoke of that more often than not have tendency to speak my mind and confront mistaken record.Albeit that is my common response, in particular situations(when necessary) I am actually quite a negotiating force, if I say so myself. I often compromise if, and only if, it will not hinder me or profoundly benefit my enemy/opponent in the short run as well as the long run. Any tips on how I might better my skills before a WSHTF sitch

  • Excellent eye opener. Thank you for sharing.

  • If wrol happens in my lifetime (I'm almost 60) I hope I'm lucky enough to find someone in my locus with the skill set you just described. The two primary personal qualities for leadership is compentency and charisma. There are a lot of people who can be persuasive. But persuasivness comes in different shades. Many can command using intimidation. A true (charismatic?) leader is a bit harder to find.

  • Very true, just for everyday life! Don't need some TEOTWAWKI situation to use this info!

I work for a non-union contractor, who often does jobs in union facilities. Using words carefully can make life MUCH easier for you!

  • This video blew me away. I have a lot to analyze after watching this; in fact, I may need to watch it three or four more times to be able to retain it all. Great tactics I never thought about, thanks.

  • "Your best fight is the one that never happened" is the backbone on this video.

Talking about guns, knives & tactical training can be sexy, BUT in a WROL scenario tools like these have a much higher priority. When I hear someone bringing up issues like: sanitation, communication & sources of energy instead of a lone wolf B.O.B. philosophy I sit back & listen!

Thanks GM for heading in a great direction & as always I look forward to more thoughts shared & videos in the future. Keep on rocking!

  • Thanks!! Great info. LLH&R Chewey

  • # 11 and 12 were the best for sure. Hopefully the chaos is short lived the advantage of third world country is straight up grit. They pay no mind to what we consider a discomfort. I think once all the crazies are gone, you can start to deploy these sane tactics.

  • GM, SO GLAD you are back! Thank you for a another GREAT video! Many people confuse "survival" with "combat" -- Combat has a very high death rate... As a survivalist, I do my best to avoid combat.. through evasion and negotiation... I have no desire to prove to anyone that I know how to fight... (but I will if I have no options left).

  • Good Video! Thanks for sharing!

  • This is an incredibly well done video, sounds like you may have even given this briefing to people before :)

Thank you very much for posting. I am going to favorite and hope it gets spread far and wide among the prepper community.

  • Thank you...Thank you...Thank you. FINALLY someone who really gets it!!! I'm glad at least a few people see eye to eye on this topic! For years now I've been advocating a multi-layered strategy:

    -Avoid any foreseeable conflict.

    -Diffuse, negotiate, and psychologically disarm.

-Coordinate with many, but choose inner circle wisely.

-Use force as an absolute *last* resort where all other options are exhausted.

(It's not easy to condense a strategy in 400 characters).

  • @Aracuru: Awesome -- I totally agree, and I would not mind having you by me on the ground! I like the way you succinctly summarize the UW approach as well! Many blessings, brother --GM

  • outstanding !!

  • Thank you

  • Good info. Thanks for posting.

  • Another absolute gem of a video. Defintely words to live by. All practical for every day life. Thank you for sharing. You have absolutely one of the best channels on Youtube. I appreciate all your hard work and efforts. Keep up the good work!!!

  • Font was a bit small in this video. Very informative though.

  • This may very well be the most important video you've ever made. Thanks.

  • Great video G.M. Glad to see you back.

  • Wow! I'm vary weak at negotiation strategies and you have open my eyes to some areas I need to work on.

    thanks Stephen

  • "your best fight is the one that never happened"

    well clausewitz

In short, absolute, so-called mathematical, factors

never find a firm basis in military calculations. From

the very start, there is an interplay of possibilities,

probabilities, good luck and bad that weaves its way

throughout the length and breadth of the tapestry. In

the whole range of human activities, war most closely

    resembles a game of cards.

    clausewitz

  • It's interesting how all these proven techniques for negotiation (and just dealing with people in general) have been taught for at least 2,000 years (In the bible) but the majority of humanity doesn't understand them or can't seem to implement them (granted it's hard at times) but it's great to know that this is how special forces are trained.

  • @AnalyticalSurvival Run for president, please?

  • Analytical Survival for president!!

  • @killlerr2 100% agreed!

  • welcome back!!..we missed you.

  • Another excellent lesson! Most people never think of this subject, or that of "social engineering" tactics to achieve your goals. Skill sets like these will go far in a WROL situation. Its probably also the reason I've never seen SF accurately portrayed in a movie. LoL

  • An informative, thoughtful, useful, and intelligent video..gee isn't that contrary to Youtube format :-)....thanks for the GREAT vids, easily some of the most useful things you'll find on Youtube, or anywhere else, for that matter

  • A smart man learns from his mistakes... But a wise man learns from someone else s mistakes

  • This topic is not often discussed, but ranks right up there with a good group of friends in your WROL preparations--guns will only get you so far. Many people these days seem quite inept when it comes to verbal communication, perhaps due in large part to the internet, and have no idea how to be polite or tactful. Not only will this skill be indispensable in a bad situation, but makes your everyday interaction with others much more pleasant. Great video, thanks.

  • The best general wins with out fighting.

  • I am a better person for watching your vids..

You are building THE best channel on YT

    de oppresso liber

  • That was very informative. I had to listen to it twice to catch most of what you said. I will no doubt play it a couple more times. These techniques will work in everyday life as well.

  • Now that is a scary man.

  • greatvideo

  • could have used alot of this during my time in Iraq. We used similar tactics but the text book doesnt always fit the world. We had to learn the local dialects phoneticly and made our own dictionary.

  • This is excellent. Thank you.

  • Great video. I'm reminded of a quote from a character from a Star Wars game, but its very fitting. " It is a far greater victory to make another see through your eyes than it is to close theirs forever."

  • @MrVidAnderson: Hey -- long time no hear! Thanks, brother, for your kind words! Many blessings --GM

  • Wow..another amazing video. It seems like people never talk about thinking in warfare. You nailed it.

  • RIGHT ON!

  • I love all of your videos. You deliver your information very well. Keep it up and I can't wait for the next one.

  • amazing video, one of your best brother! your view on worl is the most realistic ive heard. its not gonna be cut and dry like some people think.

anyone that hasnt already should read sun tzu's "the art of war"

  • @renowolfgang: Excellent book suggestion -- right on the topic! Thanks for your kind words, my friend --GM

  • out of the park!

  • Excellent video! I couldn't figure out if I was back at Camp Mackall or social work school....lol.

  • @combatjm89: LOL! Thanks, brother, for your kind words! There are actually many aspects of Camp Mackall that I would just rather forget -- like those 4A.M. ruck marches and runs with full gear! :) Many blessings, and keep in touch --GM

  • @combatjm89 hey cbjm, i see u like GM's videos? lol who doesnt?

and thx for more great useful info - Oyster

  • Terrific info, as always! Thank you.

  • This is one of the best perspective correcting videos I have come across on youtube since I've been involved in watching readiness videos.

Thank you again for sharing your knowledge and experience with us, and for doing so in such a way that is both succinct and thorough.

  • @UrbanCombatSurvivor: Thanks for your very kind words, brother! Glad to be of help --GM

  • EXCELLENT INFO, SIR!!!

  • common sense and verbal dynamics are always the key in a bargaining situation.cool heads prevail.great video.

  • @imcolinemorris: Well said! Many thanks --GM

  • Excellent vid! Welcome back my friend!

  • @condor5x5: Thanks, Condor! --GM

  • great ideas and perspective. Thx and blessings.

  • As always my friend you are a wealth of knowledge and your videos prove it. Thanks again for all your hard work.

  • @TheAmericanSurvivor: Many thanks, and stay safe, brother! --GM

  • Great video, thanks for posting this.

  • Great video. In a situation like the one where you were trying to get access to info; how do you get what you want without letting your target know they are being manipulated? Won't there be an A-ha moment where they get pissed at being manipulated and tell you to pound sand?

  • @shiweifeng: Good question: Well -- it's a balance, like most things. Think of it like this: everyone has goals -- explicit and implicit. Regardless if one is conscious of it, we are all moving in directions that suit us. When trying to persuade, artfully 'front load' your agenda, making it 'midly' explicit. It's a gamble though, and if you're TOO explicit, you can reveal your hand. It's a skilled art which involves half genuineness, and half agenda. Again -- words can be tactical weapons --GM

  • "Speak softly and carry a big stick." Incredible! I sure could have used this video many times over the years. I've never grown to like the taste of my own feet. lol!

  • Always a great way of thinking. I was wondering if you could expand on the class clown and rebels. I know the leaders and followers groups but could you say more on the last two groups? Thanks for your time and input...

  • You're back! So happy to see this video in my queue this afternoon, man.Welcome back!

  • 100% accurate, as I was trained, we didn't call it negotiation, we called it verbal judo.

  • Some of the wisest words on YouTube once again!!

  • Thanks GM Good to hear from you again. Great primer and solid points for the battlefield or work or school or as in my case... How to get my fire company to go to lunch where I want!!!

  • great insight, thanks

  • bloody exclelent vid, excelent, its nice to see a change from guns a blazin, superior firepower WROL survival stuff, great ideas that im going to have to have a in depth think about, iv got a few packs of cigaretts in my stored supplies, i dont smoke, but offering a cigarett to a potential friend or foe during negotiations could make all the difference, think of it as a modern day peace pipe, sit down, get friendly before negotiations start.

  • To be a leader you need too know how to follow.. As all of your video 5***** full of good information and your approach is always to the point thank you again.........

  • de oppresso liber ! Sua Sponte !

  • Great video as per normal. Thumbs up from Brasil.

  • I was very much hoping you would put out another one of your videos. Thank you for your thoughts and another outstanding compilation of great information.

  • Excellent as usual. Great content.

  • As always another great vid with undeniable good content. Thank you.

  • @beknd4pees: Thanks for your kind words, brother --GM

  • Great video. Do you have a book recommendation on this subject and what do you think about the books, Tongue Fu and How to Win Friends and Influence People?

  • @PilgrimLad: I'm working on a follow up video and I'll make some recommendations then --GM

  • ......everybody loves options!

  • @NELLISRW: Hey, buddy -- thanks for chiming in! --GM

  • this video was awesome.

  • It has been a while! Great info!

  • @iyBesao: Good to be back! Many thanks --GM

  • Man you really do make the best survival videos. "First class of course" haha I'm sure. I think your video is right on

  • @Mrcaffinebean: LOL -- yes, "first class" is an understatement! Thanks for your kind words, brother! --GM

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. You don't know how many times I've had this conversation. It's nice to have validation from a knowledgeable and experienced source.

  • @ZombieTactics: Excellent -- and thanks for sharing your determination to share this perspective. I strongly sense that these ideas can be beneficial to many in the tactical community (as well)! Many blessings, my brother --GM
