  • Love this song. Love Dean Friedman!!

  • I saw Dean play in a very small venue earlier this year in Birmingham UK. Absoloutely amazing!!!! He didn't play 'Lakelands' but it is a stunning song.......

    He's still a superstar!

  • Nice to hear him singing about beautiful Cumbria..

  • Many thanks for posting this, HoraceCope2. I first heard this on a compilation of Irish favourites - which was odd - but then couldn't find it anywhere else. A beautiful song that brings back many memories.

  • It was actually a single in the early eighties, but went nowhere, glad you like it.

  • @HORACECOPE2 think it was also a b side for the single " didnt mean to make you cry"

  • @MrLail Thats correct, although i couldn't understand why he didn't use a different song for the b side, rather than having to buy the same song twice.

  • @westview80 Green Velvet 16 ballads of peace and love - can't find the cd but the track listing is on a site called discogs so it's a case of tracking down the individual songs to download - enjoy.

  • @ezzabig7 Many thanks for that, mate.
