  • Who cares.

  • what hell are you saying really i wanna say that you are big stupid lies how did you know that there is women raped and you are still living in you're country do you have any evidence is there genocide in darfur it has committed i think that 3 war it will start from sudan and then it will spread to whole of world you must be attention about what i am talking

  • china is the main culprit in darfur genocide

  • google this:

Darfur? It's the Oil, Stupid. China and US in New Cold War over Africas oil

    and this:

Oil in Darfur? Special Ops in Somalia?

The New Old "Humanitarian" Warfare in Afric

  • ricktruss38 that is exactly the same attitude that Western nations had about Rwanda and look what happened there when no one came to help.

  • There is more to this issue then race, do some research the fight is over land. Western Sudan is suffering from decreased rainfall and expansion of the Sahara, the few patches of good land is becoming scarce. There is no excuse for the violence but climate change is also playing a role. You want to do something to help try recycling or think before you buy that next Hummer.

  • You're sooo selfish. Get up and just thumb through a book about the crisis in darfur and after this think about your words!!! WE have to react!

  • yeah but think about it if china stops getting oil from sudan same thing is going to happen, sudan will just get their weapons some place else because they offer such cheap oil some place is bound to buy it. to be honest, no place on earth is really "just" when it comes to money and oil. the combo that sudan has is just. yeah.

  • kickass you obviously don't get it. China can get their products somewhere else, or just stop doing business with them until the genocide ends, they're the ones who are keeping it from ending. Also, everyone, your cell phones and ipods are made with metals mined by these child soldiers and the money they get selling the metal goes to buying ak-47's, helicopters and tanks. pressure your phone and computer companies to be responsible with where they get their metal!

  • have any one of guys live throug war, if u anwers this question then u will know the feelings of these innocent people. have u had the feeling thiking every secound not minutes that u will be gang rape and one day wake up ur prcious mommy and daddy is dead with ur siblings. have u benn gang rape and knows at the age of 15 that u are not goiging to have kids dont get an education have u seen somebody kill. if not dont judge.

  • Well said udigital. The people in this video sound like they're describing pre-war Iraq. That didn't work out so well for the US. I think we s/be more careful in the future. If we get bogged down in Darfur, those same people will probably call us "Imperialists."

  • No....this was pre-war Iraq:

    youtube (dot) com/watch?v=CpoLR3Cr1BE

    THIS is Darfur now:

    cbc (dot) ca/doczone/darfur.html

  • Rather, cbc (dot) ca/doczone/darfur/video.html

  • calling all african nations. unite and help each other...some of you have the resources...help your brothers

  • The U.N. and Mia Farrow should stop pressuring China to send troops to Darfur. Many of these soldiers are from one-child families due to efforts of the Chinese gov't to curb the growth of its population. Imagine telling people that they can only have one child, and now imagine telling them that, their only child will have to go to Darfur and risk getting killed in order to save the lives of other people. Please show some compassion to the parents of these soldiers.

  • Um....I think the main pressure on China is to stop them from funding the genocide and providing weapons in defiance of international law.

  • China has no money to fund any genocide. They are a third world country. Just because it does business with the Sudanese government doesn't mean they are condoning anything. They do business with EVERYONE. In another part of the world the government is cracking down on pro-democracy demonstrators. China also does business with these people, and I am certain they are not telling people there how to run their country. Furthermore, the Russians also sold weapons to the Sudanese government.

  • People should be accountable for their own actions. It IS possible for Black people to be guilty of crimes. I don't think any nation on this planet is perfect. Stop blaming other people.

  • China needs to pressure the Sudan government more in order for peace to occur in Darfur. I hope the violence ends soon.

  • Humanitarian crises of colossal scale no doubt!! I also wonder why the world is ignoring the BIGGEST genocide in recent history, one that has started 60 years ago when Israel stole Palestine by force, and one that is still being carried on, namely; Israel's ethnic cleansing and its mass killing of the Palestinians!! How come no one talks about that??

  • I've got an idea why don't we save these people first and leave the talk for later, but no that'd be way too easy!

  • Why are Israelis and Jews denying the genocide of the first Christian nation of the world, the Armenians? Why is the Jewish lobby putting pressure on the American congress to NOT recognize the genocide of the Armenians? Why is Israel a strong ally of the Turks who just elected an Islamist government? Why are Jews suppressing the truth? Why are Jews endeavoring to make people FORGET? Didn't Hitler justify his deeds by rationalizing, 'After all, who remembers the Armenians?' Jew, REMEMBER.

  • to my comment below **"You Can't call yourself.."**

im 100% against the genocide and i think the actions we arent taking is hurting the world. after the holocaust the USA promise to never sit and watch while a genocide happened. This has been happening for over four years now. We NEED to take action as a country.

  • How about letting African Negroes be reponsible for themselves for once? Always have their hands in the White Man's pocket. Screw them!

  • do you really think your funny? hundreds of thousands of people are being slaughtered just like the white jews were during world war two. you can call your self a human or a christian if you think that brutally killing someone is the right thing to do. you are one sad person, but we can fret and talk about this for ever. Darfur needs us wheather you like it or not. Just rember when you need someone to rescue you in your life.

  • Wanna help Darfur? Who's stopping you, pal? Get off your ass & get over there! Just leave me and my tax dollars out of it. Besides, didn't that "White Man's Burden" crap go out with Kipling?

  • Yeah...there's not much an ordinary person can do in Darfur itself when the Sudanese airforce will probably drop bombs on you, just like what they've done to villages over there.

  • if your gonna make a commercial at least make it decent. put effort into it, theres thousands dying and this is all you come up with?

  • it's not about how much time will it take - it's about what it says - it's not about graphical side or else - it's about facts = I guess you missed the point of this commercial.

One more - at least this person did something - what did you do?

  • way more than this person, so dont even question it.

  • way more? Maybe you should work in advertising company - don't waste your priceless time and make your own ad and show how it should look like.

I like this ad cause I don't need 5 minutes to get the point of the ad (that's a good ad).

  • I firmly believe that Joe Biden has a very clear pathway in this race: he is the Democratic Party's acknowledged leader on national security during a cycle when America's place in the world is the issue at the forefront of people's minds; he is the only Democrat with a clear plan for how America can withdraw from Iraq with honor at a time when Iraq dwarfs all other concerns of Democratic primary voters.

  • Let America wait, then. Let's do something anyway. These people need help. Instead of getting a giant TV, more food than we'll eat, paying a cover charge, buying a video game, another CD, a book about it, DONATE. If you really have a heart for them, GO. You can even help out by going to the neighboring countries they're fleeing to. Get to know refugees where you live. Pray. Do something.

  • They say 400,000 on this, but it's older and it's now 900,000. NINE HUNDRED FUCKING THOUSAND PEOPLE!

    And still, America waits.

  • Its not a good idea to send any UN troops into Darfur that are christian. Asian and Oceana countrys have many capable troops. Like China, japan etc. Mainly non christian asian countrys. The Muslim militia might be more accepting to non christian peace keeping troops. Mainly chinese or southeast asian. Sending in US or European troops would make it another Iraq. Foreigh islamists would make a new front to fight the christians.

  • How about this: Say you go buy chips for a party. Each bag costs 99 cents. After you buy 10 bags, you have a dime left over. Just donate that dime. It will make a difference.

  • wow, i got chills down my back

  • someone asked the question: why should we do anyting about Darfur.. Here's the answer:

First they came for the Jews, I wasn't a jew I didn't say anything

Then they came for the Catholics, I wasn't Catholic so I didn't say anything

They came for the Protestants, I wasn't one, so I didn't say anything

Then they came for me, and by that time, no one was left

  • Amazing what you get when you allow comments. The IDIOTS come out in style. Like these P.O.S. above me that are only concerned about the money. If we were raping and killing their family, they'd BEG for help. This World will be a better place when EVERYONE stands against things like this. We don't need America doing everything alone, other countries should stand with us and STOP it.

  • My tax dollars should be spent on Americans first and foremost. If you feel so strongly about it give all your money. You have no right to give away someone else's to a cause you seem to like. We are privileged not to be in this fight and that gives us the ability to think clearly without undue emotion clouding our judgment.

  • Jeez, you are uncharitable. Say you go buy chips for a party. Each bag costs 99 cents. After you buy 10 bags, you have a dime left over. Just donate that dime. It will make a difference.

If you think we shouldn't go help Darfur, then you probably think Iraq is a bad idea to. Why don't you go protest about Iraq?

  • Why should I protest? Won't do much else other than go look like some peacenik fool. I accomplish much more by telling people I know about the place from first hand experience.

  • Auto, I know your post is 2 months old, but from reading the blog of the Save Darfur Coalition 2 weeks ago, they're finding knowledge does not equal action. The grassroots movement, such as protests, lets politicians know they MUST do something, while advocacy, such as meeting politicans, lets them know they CAN do something. As with money, I'm sure both of us can agree that it helps ease the suffering, but is far from a long-term solution.

  • Well first of all their is no such thing as a grassroots movement. Secondly why not go for the long-term solution? Sure their will probably be pain and suffering involved but you have to "break a few eggs to make an omelet." If its work do just do it right in the first place and stop dicking around with an idea to help people.

  • I'm sure you know what I meant by "grassroots" though, building a critical mass. Personally, I'm an advocate for doing both the long term and short term solutions. The way I see it, it reduces suffering as soon as possible and as long as possible. I actually agree with most of your statement. We do need to move beyond idle chatter and go into action. I sure am in my neck of the woods, and I sure hope many of the people here will start doing so as well.

  • Why should my tax dollars go to this? Democrats and socialist love to give away other peoples money more than their own.

  • That's the most cold hearted thing I've seen all day. Your worried about money? And then you attack the Democratic party for what, helping those in need? Wow, spoken like a Neo-Con?

  • I must agree with you about the money. instead, let us provide for ourselves some weapons with tranquizer darts, and have ourselves a little trip to the region

  • I must agree with you about the money. instead, let us provide for ourselves some weapons with tranquizer darts, and have ourselves a little trip to the region

  • Im so pasionate about this.

  • Saving Darfur is the last thing on Bush's mind, he too busy weakening the US' defenses, by sending as many troops to the Iraq as he can! We can do ourselves a favor BY IMPEACHING BUSH!

  • 2.5 million were killed 1995 through 2000 in the Sudan....where were you then. Would you have impeached Clinton for that? Didn't think so. Why do you think they refer to it as DARFUR? Because if you Googled Sudan genocide the Clinton years would pop up. I've been giving monies to help in Sudan since 1997....but hell....welcome aboard. No put your money where your mouth is.

  • Also, I'd like to mention that most groups have now pulled out ground support from Darfur because it is so danger, but Oxfam has not, so that would be an excellent group to support. Not that Save Darfur isn't, but Oxfam is actually on the ground making a difference to the people.

  • Where were you 10 years ago when 2.5 million were killed. Bush is doing little....Clinton did nothing SUDAN (April 1999) *1.9 million dead - (200,000 in 1998 alone); *Over 4 million displaced; *2.5 million facing famine; *350,000 people completely cut off from the outside world; *A well documented, verified, slave trade; *Ethnic cleansing; *The deliberate use of famine and rape as weapons of war; *Forced conversion to Islam; *Religious persecution of non-Muslims; *Poisoning of wells.
  • It's foolish to waste your time placing blame. The past is past. Focus on now. Something needs to be done now. If Clinton did nothing, screw him but it's irrelevant now.

  • Like I said where were you 10 years ago. I've been giving money to a group that works there for nearly that long. Now George Cloooooney goes there and this travesty is because of evil Republicans. He renames this Darfur...so when you google it you don't get the history. 3 to 3.5 million dead now people and WHERE IS OUR LEADERSHIP. And where is our people? I think we deserve our leaders

  • Ten years ago I was a young child.

  • what the fuck are you talking about?

  • The world is not oblivious, we all know what's going on, there just isn't anything we can do about it. Go preach to the UN Security Council.

  • oh my god, can you beleive that i havent heard one word about darfur, i didnt even know there was anything going on there. and i'm not sure whever this is because i havent being paying enough attention to the world around me(in which case i am ashamed of myself) or - the more likely cause(since i do watch the news and occasionally read the papers) there just hasnt been enough press coverage of it.

  • oh btw i live in the UK where our prime minister is well known for burying his head in the sand, rather than facing up to problems and dealling with them

  • Things that are happening in this world we see, but can explain what we saw. It's either to hard to tell (sad) or

you are to scared to talk about it. We have a good chance that the world will turn to shit, we have a good chance that it wont it will all depend on local goverments (like the fucking president that doesn't give to shits about us) But with everyone's help we can all change the world find out a way we can all help.

  • Have you folks seen the recent story on tibet in rolling stone magazine? It is just as horrendous as darfur. We have to wake up and throw off the chains of lies that is repressive governments in some parts and corporate dominance in others, we need our humanity back. And the will of the people.

  • I heard they have ads in the USA but they lack ads and news on Darfur in the UK.

Mind you, Tony Blair has already taken action before President Bush - I want the USA to keep up!

  • I wish that people would not make this a politcal issue. it's and issue of human life not rep or dem. what u fail to understand is that the us alone provides over 80 of all humanitarin aid that goes into darfur either through direct funding or through wfp food program. britan has done some and tony blair has spoken out but word are meaningless with out action. pressure must be put on china who alone in 2005 had 5.9billon $ worth of trade with sudans north goverment including arms deals

  • well, whatever you might wish, everything is a political issue when the government is supposed to be the will of the people and instead is the will of a kabal of predatory international corporations, like the bushies and neocons, we cant help but make it an issue.

  • This should be an ad for the superbowl.

  • I saw the commercial, and was so happy that finally the mainstream media is showing the issue in Darfur. SaveDarfur is a fantastic organizations, I've been signed up with them for months trying to do what I can. These commercials will bring the help of som many others that at the moment are still unknowing.

  • the world is oblivious.

  • Quite a tragedy. Looked it up online after this started playing during a commercial break on MSNBC's Hardball, but then got cut off when the little boy in red started speaking.
