even if Yellowstone erupts, it is highly unlikely that it would be a super eruption. It would more likely to be hydrothermal (A smallish geyser type eruption). If it did have a super eruption, most things on Earth would die out, and could lead to a nuclear winter (very cold winter).

The actual data gathered on the Caldera of Yellowstone National Park puts the average eruption time at over 700,000 thousand years, and not 600,000 as this video claims. In other words, it wont be over due for an eruption for another 70,000 years. Kind of puts a damper on that prediction doesn't it? Everything happening in Yellowstone to date in fact has been proven to be naturally occurring phenomenon, nothing unusual suggesting that any kind of mass eruption is immanent. Just saying...

I'm pretty sure the world will still exist even when volcanoes erupt. It's just that all living things may die. reminds me of a pretty cool professor that gave me lectures about volcanism.

i think most of the volcanoes are hiding under the oceans. if science evolves greatly enough we may even have a chance of survival
