Smallville will never gain its glory now because story sucks, and CLANA is gone. in the first place the reason Smallville was so popular simply because of the characters named Clark and Lana. If Kristin did not leave the show, and the original writers and creator also left, lois will never happen in Smallville. Lana and Clark were the heart of the show and now that the story line sucks because of new writers, SV is doomed, rating wise and viewers wise. amen.

Currently, Smallville's in it's 8th season. But I would recommend you start watching again as this season's been the best in years. Lana is back for only 4 episodes, but the character hasn't been as bad as she was.

It's all up to the writers guild at this point. The creator wants to end the show after season 8 but is fighting with stars (mainly lex) to finish it out. The creator has said though that anything is possible based on ratings.

easlydistracted: Smallville is just a show about Superman (aka Clark Kent) growing up and learning to adjust to his powers in Smallville, Kansas. While growing up, he meets & befriends his worst enemy, Lex Luthor, and also meets the future love of his life, Lois Lane...and he does a bunch of other cool stuff...and it's just an AWESOME show! I would really recommend it, but you have a lot of catching up to do (we're on season 7 right now...) :D

How can "Smallville" be in a modern scene as if its in 2000 with the lastest songs playing in Lana's Talon, Lex driving a Cayman Porsche (or more recent) and Lionel Luthur having futuristic state of the art gadgetery...

The first Superman Movie was released in 1978 as he was an adult. Wouldnt this make Smallville's scene setting back in the 50's/60's or something?.

I think Lex is the best actor/character on the show. He's got this cool confidence thing, and the development of his character is well done. Lana is also well worth watching. I could be compelled to defend her from the forces of evil, but I imagine that would hurt, and she probably wouldn't apprecatiate it anyway. Still its a pretty good show.
