@laxplayer23x2 well first off, because it's a MAXIMA, it's got a strong ass 3.0 V6, and second, g20 only has a 2.0, I don't hate on it, but I'd choose the maxima if you put them both in front of me.

Both engines make decent power from the factory but in the tuning world there are so so soooo many options for the SR20DE. You can buy a simple $2500 turbo kit that will net you 450WHEEL HORSEPOWER reliably... Not so many options like that for the VQ30DE. I OWN BOTH. 01' Maxima - 97 SE-R

lol that's the same way i was. I got my license a few months ago, but had my maxi for about 6 months. i wanted something before i got my actual license cuz i was so impatient lol. But ya i would not take any auto car cuz i hate them, so i won't try to convince u to take the maxi, but man they are great cars. 7k is a lot to spend! But i spent like 6.5k so i shouldn't talk lol. either way i hope you find a good car, you know it never hurts to look around also.

Ditch the beetle and get the maxi they are amazing coming from and owner i can tell you they pull hard and are extremely reliable. If you know what your doing you can do a auto to 5spd swap for about 1k by yourself. Mine is auto but that doesn't bother me because I was side by side with my friends 99 maxima SE 5spd.

HAHA, I have a WAI i just bought an adapter off eBay and slapped a cone filter on it and called it a day. My friend owns a 240sx and is amazed at how much pickup a maxima has when it is stock, and sounds amazing out of the box!!!

All for the new maxi if anything happens to mine im going to buy a 02 Maxima SE 5spd:)

Why do the autos shift at 6000rpm because the VQ30DE's intake manifold limits the motor so it can not breath over 6000 so it doesnt make power up there hence why it shifts. The VQ30DEK's a virtually unchanged motor besides the intake manifold can breath way past its 6500 rpm limit. a cammed DEK is revving to 7800 rpm and still making power. how much power? Its NA making 278fwhp partial tuned.

No airbag light is on...I filmed this when the car had a test pipe and there was no O2 sensor running to the rear banks, which is why my SES light is on.

The other light is my ABS light, which was on because a wheel sensor went bad and was on order from Nissan. Both problems have since been fixed.

The engines in these cars arent that reliable. for those of you thinking of buying one of these cars used, skip it, dont bother. ive personally been in one of these, it was a 99 GLE, had cylinder misfires...cant say i remember that of my old car...and that was a 94.

My mom bought the car brand new off a Nissan Dealership lot in Puyallup, WA and gave it to me when she got her new car. This car has its problems like any other vehicle has. In the 11 years that it has been around, I have NEVER had problems with it. It drives good and is dependable. th3halog0d, I think u got a lemon, cause these cars are worth every penny even if bought used. 2bad 4 u .
