  • They are fun cars to drive

  • what a neat little vid and a great car, thanks for putting this up Paul, enjoyed the ride.

  • Just goes to show - you don't need a Lamborghini Miura and the Italian Alps to find some joy... it would help though...

  • nice car A+

  • director talent

  • this reminds me of the start of the italien job. But fortunately your car was still in one piece at the end of the video :')

  • Kool!

  • @Saintstrangers Fankz!

  • car looks like a caterham

  • @bestvidsdottk It's a cheap copy of that style of car, called a Robin Hood. I think they're still going.

  • " brilliant " five stars.

  • While clearing off spam it looks like I accidentally removed "deserteagle1010: Great video and wonderful car :) you are a lucky man hehe " - Sorry. This isn't spam, obviously.

  • Aww, thanks very much :)

  • Ha, ha, love this, 1 st love the music, 2 nd can't drive, me and clutch don't get on along :)))

    I like speeding, lol :)

  • 1) You've good taste

    2) This is why god invented Automatics

    3) Try not to kill anyone

  • great vid.....

looking forward to seeing the new updated version...

  • Great job, mate! Gonna have to do my own version someday - with a Corvette Z06. Will have to find a good windy road here on the PacNW - probably HWY 2... Cheers!

  • I just bought an Alfa so stay tuned for a refreshed version of this idea. I'm now shooting in hi-def too... Just got to wait for the summer!

  • I still have this video on my "Mellow Tunes" playlist, in spite of the fact that I also have the original film versions here and there; it's a great video! Could I request that you consider a tune for the

Alfa Romeo like the theme from "The

    Protectors", "The Sweeney", "DangerMan",

or, possibly the best action/ adventure instumental theme of all time, "On Her

    Majesty's Secret Service". Just ideas.

  • Like driving through you're very own garden of Eden. Well played sir, well played.

  • Look forward to that.

  • cool.

  • love this song...thanks for posting

  • " way to go " !!!

  • A real love movie

  • fantastic

  • it's in england so no blue skys lol

  • We don't need blue skies to enjoy our beautiful country...............

  • Sei un mito....!!

    Troppo simpatico..!

    The good idea,ciao da Torino...

  • nice video man

  • Superb Mate. Steady as you go now.

  • love the simple magic of this movie, you and Matt just leave me longing for the day my sick little Dutton Melos can caress my mind and soul like no Bitch ever has.

  • I know how you felt! Robin Hood III, sun, a breeze and a good old country road! What more could a man want. May i ask a silly question? Was the song used because you no longer own the Robin Hood III???? It's a beautiful song. I feel reminiscence watching this video. You've brightend my day. :-)

  • Incredible video. Wish it was me. Driving at a perfectly chilled speed. I wish I had the car and time. Nice camera angles.

  • Thanks. I had to go fairly slowly as the road was bumpy and there's not much clearance under the sump. I borrowed the camera angles from both the opening of The Italian Job (which I see someone's uploaded here) and Top Gear- the British TV programme.

  • bet you get loads of fan mail now... !!

  • quite cool but were are the twisty and turns. i think you may have found the most straightest country road in all of britain

  • Westfield ?

  • nice cateram

  • It's a 'Robin Hood', but thanks anyway :)

  • are you Number 6?? I mean, the car is a Lotus as seen in the opening of THE PRISONER...

  • I am not a number, I am a free man! :)

  • I have seen a few of these Ital job remakes, but one crucial thing is missing in most, the sound of the engine, makes all the difference :)

  • Great video - loved the music. You need to go faster though. :)

  • how did you get the camera view from the front of the car?

  • A tripod with rubber feet and lots and lots of elastic bungy straps with hooks to pin the feet in place and tension the whole thing onto the car. All very low-tech, but it worked fine :)

  • Well it looks good, how did you add music to the video

  • Use any software video editor and add an extra audio track with the music on it. It really wasn't very tricky.

  • chhers I will google that

  • Smart video. But you shouldnt look at the camera. Still 5 stars.

  • Looking at the camera adds cheese, I know, but that was sort of the idea. Glad you enjoyed it anyway!

  • the best love is forbidden love !!!

  • no you look like a birk

  • Not being able to spell berk makes you look like a moron. Thanks for taking the time to respond :)

  • great song magic

  • Matt was a beautiful singer. I remember when he was acclaimed as the English 'Frank Sinatra'. That he never was, he was always what he has been always 'Matt Monro'.

  • Brilliant song, love it on the opening of the Italian Job

  • God I LOVE this song... How can I get it to be the tune on my mobile phone?

  • I'd google for a midi file, but that's just me :)

  • Thanks what should I enter as the search? Next question, how do I put it on my phone...? I'm not very technical!

  • Looks like the wrong road for that car, mate.

Also, Greatest Movie of All Time.

  • Not a lot of alpine switchbacks here in Buckinghamshire, so I went the ironic route, with the straightest road I could find. But you're right, it rocks :)

  • i live in north bucks, take my RobinHood 2b on loads of lovely roads around here

  • Patrick Mcgoohan looks different!has he escaped the village?

  • luvly song just right for a drive .....sing up !!!!!!!

  • am sitting here crying my eyes out. it was my grandma's favourite song. My father in law died last week. I am being completely pathetic and can't stop crying.

  • Hope people realise it was a lamborghini muira racing through the tunnel,,thankyou...

  • yeah I know. It was a good looking one too (when it went in anyway).

  • Miura, not Muira ;)

  • celt67, it was a lambo muria they drove though the alps in the italian job, but if you want to drive a ferrari thats fine. great car and video/ song choice btw =)

  • Please redo it and drive around a minute more to complete the whole song!

  • Give me a long hot summer's day (remember those?) and I'll do a longer Austin Healey-based version, just for you :)

    Thanks for the feedback

  • I'm loving the irony :)

  • Nice Video...Beautiful Matt Munro Song :)

  • I totally agree...for some strange reason, I suddenly want to race a ferarri through the mountain roads of the Alps.

  • Nice work.

Nice glance over the shoulder before pulling away.

Nice motor. I treated myself to a CAR Magazine driving day with Caterham for my 30th, so got to drive a X flow and a Vauxhall XE Caterham, and there was a lovely pale metallic blue K series one there too, but not for driving. Not quite a Miura, but a lot more affordable ;)

And good job the mafia don't drive tractors round Bucks.

Nice leaves, I used to live in Wycombe :)

I really must visit Portmeirion one dat

  • Everytime i watch this video.....i get really jealous still....cant wait to have enough cash saved to get my own 7rep.....you go Paul

  • Great Tune - Thinking of getting a pre built Robin/Dax

no room to build it myself.

  • matt munro at his very best not bad for an ex bus driver!!!!

  • good show

  • good vid - well done that man!

  • Seems like those old car ads done in modern style. Good choice of music mate. I really wish I had a mp3 of this classic song by Monro.

  • I really like this video. Tastefully done. I miss the outings in my car in the UK

  • Why would a bald man need hairpins anyway?

  • LMAO! Good one! (assuming you were joking of coruse)

  • I never joke about my work 007.

  • Nice Video ..

  • Great and good music!

  • way to go paul !!! obviously a man of good taste .

  • Its the cheesy looks to the camera and raising of the eyebrows that does it for me

  • Bucks. isn't quite the same as the Italian Alps, but lovely song, and beautifully cut to it. Well done!

  • Cool vid. just what Youtube is for.

  • lol haha nice, I loved that bit in the Italian Job, a man and his car, with beautiful music and scenary in the background, best intro to a film ever!!! , lol and you've re created it, nice

  • that was fucking stupid

  • Everyone's a critic :P

On a more serious note, this is a 'family friendly' site and there's no call for that sort of language. I urge others to express themselves with less Anglo-Saxon profanity, and a little more creativity. Thanks :)

  • Why? Because Paul has been more of a bloke than you to build his own motor, taken the time to make a film and edit it, and chosen a great song to go over it?

  • Sorry, Paul, I was replying to Gladiator above.

  • Thanks very much. I think Gladiator might be quite a grumpy person and I didn't take it too personally ;)

  • Nice one paul, good variation on the camera shots, and the perfect song by mr velvet tonsils himself.

  • great video even greater film and song

  • Beautiful song, one of my favourites. Where's the hairpins? Do a second version with a few!

  • that was good, thanks!

  • That reminds me of Mario Andretti driving his old roadster in SUPERSPEEDWAY

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung, worked very well with this well shot video

  • the irony-superb-i hope matt monro gets up and kicks your arse-funny as can be!

  • The perfect singer singing the perfect movie theme. Okay, the theme's might only be great, but Matt is the best. I met him and he sang this for me one night! One day I'm going to take my wife on a driving holiday through the Italian Alps in a convertible just so we can listen to this with the roof down.

  • great music and video. more plz!!!

  • I was going for irony. There's no hairpin-corner roads near home, so I found the straightest quiet road I could to film on. Glad you enjoyed it anyway :)

  • Classy video! Great car and some decent camera work! Shame you didn't have a few hairpins chucked in but I'm glad to see it didn't all end in flames.
