The Freemasons are just a fraternity with some silly aprons, lots of symbols derived from stone masonry and the construction of Solomon's Temple and lots of rituals. They do lots of charitable work including building hospitals. Pretty much anyone of "good character" can join. If they really ran the world I don't think joining would be so straightforward.

Yes, this isn't Jesus Christ and it somewhat resembles Plato's demiurge but it is clearly not the Satan of the New Testament or Islam. Strictly speaking Freemasonry isn't really compatible with Christianity but since Masons are pursuing virtue and character it is wrong to describe them as evil.
