  • This leg thing is all relative, if a normal guy who hits the gym had legs like kevin everyone would be saying oh this guy has stacked legs. It's just that kevin has a mutant upper body throwing his legs out of proportion. I'm sure the strength of his legs is more of a concern to him than how aesthetically pleasing they are.

  • There were collars on the bar. If you look close you can see them fall off.  He has so much weight on the bar that they barely fit on and slide off right when he starts lifting.

  • well seein as nobody has pulled 500kg or really anything that close to it yet then I think this constitutes as a pretty insane pull. Not many people in the world are deadlifting 880 pounds

  • actually kevin did not use tape in the video. thats why they suggest using tape at the end of the video. but it is irrelevant due to the fact that kevin has deadlifted over 900 pounds now

  • wat do u think is better bodybulding or powerlifting and do you think u can be both

  • two totally different pursuits. can't rightfully compare them. obviousy we prefer PL and strongman, but also have BB that train at the gym. theoretically someone could be good at both, but with the level of specialization required for both sports it is unlikely. there are strong bodybuiders and lean PL guys, but rarely to the leve that they would be successful at a crossover attempt. give it a shot and keep me posted.

  • obviously i like powerlifting better but BB is def not easy. i respect any sport where it takes hard work and dedication. also, i think you could do both but it would be very hard to be at the top in both of them

  • True, look at Dominic Filiou, he's got to be one of, if not THE biggest strongmen ever at 6'5 and 450 (mostly muscle), and he struggled with shit he should have destroyed at this years WSM....but what I meant was you'd think with all that squatting and deadlifting, Kevins legs would match his upper body, which is massive and has got that way by lifting heavy. He's a future WSM champ, no doubt about it.

  • To be honest, someone who is 6'5'' 450 (mostly muscle) lol is not normal what so ever... Granted strong as hell, but he is at a disadvantage. Strength is determined by several aspect, Nervous system, Genetic composition of fibers (how many born with), effiency of Anerobic ATP production... Increase in sarcomeres (hypertrophy).  Lot of things involved, not just purely hypertrophy.

  • there was a second attempt where a callus pulled. we did avoid the tape, but still no go yet. as a side not kevin pulled an official 805 at a local meet this past weekend. 880 was within 3 inches, basically a hair higher than where it was when the plates exploded off this one.
