These comedy sketches are making fun of "posh people" (rich/upper class people in the UK). They have an image of living sheltered lives, being afraid of anyone or anything that is not from their own social class, and tend to go crazy over "problems" that seem trivial to normal (non-posh) people. These sketches are funny because a lot of the references are based on reality.
