  • Oh yeah they also get paid holidays like three weeks of them, plus sick days, vacation pay, toped off with yearly BONUSES. I want their lifestyle mine freakin sucks!

  • Government get free food, free gas, free clothing, free vehicles free alot of other things with alot of money like 100.00-400.00 + an hour we the little people had these rich people taking this money from our back pockets, now after building million dollar a month sky scrapers, they build these huge airports, huge banks, and another money company called the IRS that taxes everything. Then start picking on us hard workers by handing out millions of DUI's then lowering their family insurance. SICK

  • They should dig up the Mountains in Virginia, plant huge coast guards , huge IRS, huge FBI buildings, all this crap in Virginia and Maryland theres no Ocean over here everyone is paying these monsters to take from us by raising the prices of everything as they monitor our every move and have us locked up for long periods of time it''s sick. Like Mike Tyson beating on a little baby it's sick. How many DUI's did these police earn these monsters this year

  • ban mountain top removal.

there are better ways to get the coal or rare earth that you are going for.

    its called underground mining.

  • thankyou so much for the post, we need all the help we can get. We were here long before these coal mines, and furthermore, the miners they imported to work em. Aint many miners can say their family was here even before 1820. We been livin in these hills since 1630. Im tired of this jobs speech from the miners. How bout someone pays you 40 bucks an hour to stab your mom? Its a job right? We dont want these mines tearn up our place. If you do, then u dont belong here.

  • Coal kills when and where it is mined, when and where it is burned, and when and where its waste is disposed of. The destruction of public housing is in large a result of coal ash waste used as fill dirt, dumps, and landfills from coal-gasification plants that operated throughout this country between 1880s and 1960s until natural gas put them out of business. Now coal-gasification plants are resurfacing as "clean coal." MY video shows coal waste in public housing.

  • if your dont like turn off your lights!

  • Incredible, humans are the caretakers of this planet, and our leaders are the caretakers who don't care, they just take.

  • @AkamuSlayer , the planet will take care of itself, probably by wiping us out... my bet is on starvation.

  • I don’t remember askin’ you to pat my back

  • Hi..I would like to make a difference. I am a currently unemployed in CT, I am plannimg to move WV,,,contact me,,,I would love to help!

  • People have nothing better to do than sit on the internet and talk shit about somewhere that is in there country. People should be more concerned about the fucking terrorist then about good old boys in West Virginia. People just living there life.

  • @mikeya1009 well technically most people are considered "terrorists" now a days, and most peoples definition of terrorist is someone in another country, or doing bad things to us. so technically you are choosing between actually fighting for something worth while that effects you and all your fellow nation or fight some pretend constantly changing threat designed to distract. If you want to fight terrorists, find all the nazis they let off, the president, Monsanto, big pharma and fight them.

  • when they valley fill they dont bury equiptment

  • Hey, lets all have a level of maturity.... It is of utter importance that the government is raping our lands, they are always turning there cheeks when money is dangled in there faces. WEST VIRGINIA is beautiful! If you people where not so ignorant maybe you could get past stereotypes and the serious nature of what is really happening in AMERICA!!!

  • this gives all of us here in west virginia a bad name FUCK YOU ALL

  • @CharmingSage if i were to guess, i would say your from jersey...fuckin fags who live there

  • awsome

  • they put top soil back and i no were two airports on a mine site you all dont no nothing

  • we need to attack nuclear not coal coal mining helps us i see what they do i live not a mile from a sruface mine i see what it looks like befor and after they do a good job

  • Its none of your business you spider headed tree hugger.Get a hair cut!

  • There is no win-win, only loss for greed! Deep coal extraction is the way to keep the miners working and our lights on and the water and land intact!!

  • IM not a tree huggin hippie at all but I agree, dont say that it's a win win situation you fuckin fat pocket southerner, spraying green chemical filled mud on coal slack wont make a mountain forrest appear you dipshits.

  • Screw that. Im going on vacation there for the hills. Thats disgousting. Leave it alone

  • u need to learn to spell...and keep your mouth shut.

  • diiddd i speeel somtunin wrnong?

  • Uh...Yeah.U idiot.

  • lol i didnt spell one thing wrong in my first comment. no i didnt see deliverance

  • You're not welcome here...U ever see deliverance?

  • ha i looked it up, so how come im not welcome into west virginia?

  • i saw the movie .... you wouldn't be refering to the inbreeds that had sex with animals and raped a fat man would you

  • Flat land in WV is a fantastic idea. Leveling the whole state for a few bucks isn't.

  • spread the word all over you tube to get people to care about USA land for future generations the oldway was the betterway

  • Hey WV , you can make your own solar power for under 200 dollars, and 1 weekend.!

SHUT THE FUCK UP about coal being mans only hope, I think wood stoves worked fine for what the last 2000 years,

Your miner forefathers must be so proud, digging up their graves so your kids can play xbox !

you bitches lay down like good christian dogs

Keep having SOMEONE ELSE suffer for your convenience, and do your work !

    Apathetic lap dog satanists,

    with Christ as your LABEL

  • Im from southern WV you can STFU BITCH! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS TO BE FROM WEST VIRGINIA. FUCK OFF. ITS NOT BROWN AND DREARY!!! ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!? YOU ARE A TOTAL IDIOT!! HOLLISTERSTUNNER=DUMBASS!!!

  • Well after the Aussie globalist SAGO Chiefs flatten Beckley,

more people will move there ! So we can make those Lewis Chevorlet girls even more rich !

Ooo maybe if were extra good they'll open a new Hydrocodone store in town

    I mean like 15 is enough !

LMAO @ Blind Ass hicks !

  • MTR is horrible. But there are alternatives for the electricity we need. See the grassroots project being developed for Coal River Mountain. A wind farm on top of the mountain! We should help them get it going. No destruction; free air!

  • is that the guy from the truth commercials??

  • Pat is suck a cracc headddd.wow he needs help.lmao

  • I think both sides have it wrong. First, my user name is the name of a coal town. So, no, you wont get a tree hugger.

Howver, when you get tokld, nothing grows on slate and 20 years later its a forest, thank God nothing grew huh?

BUT, mountain top removal is not win win. They want quiet. They want you to see nothing. However, its wiped out. Its gone and worse yet, you lose entire towns, years of history and truth be told, they want it gone. Its just a future ATV path for another company.

  • Mountain Top Removel is Raping WV, There are area's of this state were only weeds will grow after their done.

  • i live where they strip mined and it looks just like it did before they mined, even better to tell the truth

  • Yes Yes , nice, neat, orderly just like our fake Christian asses !

If God wanted it that way ,he would'a made it that way. Don Blankenship is an Eco-terrorist with an army of 20,000 (not 160,000 like in the 80's)

"miners" that are really glorified truck drivers !

  • Win-win? How do shopping centers, golf courses and airstrips really contribute towards people's well being?

They are more like vehicles promoting unsustainable lifestyles and unfair trade practices, which ultimately result in even more demand for the fossil fuels that they dug up there in the first place!

Stop the madness! Lets all think of what we really want out of life individually, as a society, and as fellow lifeforms aboard our little planet. Should fossil fuels count for much?

  • FUCK MT top REMOVAL!!!!!!!!! im form Wv this shit is fucked

  • go hug another tree and we will come behind you and cut it down before we mine the coal

  • lol

  • Coal is just a nasty business. Look at what Massey CEO Don Blankenship has tried to do to W.V. just so he can keep raping and poisoning the state. He's literally bribed and bought the W.V. Supreme Court and tried to buy the W.V. House for the GOP. Google it.

Coal is good for nothing. The USA does not need it. We'll be a healthier and wealthier country the day we remove our dependence on it. Coal ought to be outlawed. Thank God KS' Gov Sebelius has stood up like she has to Big Coal.

  • I'd bet that big coal mine executive interviewed in the big high rise bldg. for this documentary doesn't have a mountain top removal disaster going on anywhere near his home!! It's like larsinla said below...it's not over until there's no more coal to be had.

  • What's next on their agenda? It could be stopped by the heads of each state & our government, but there's too much money in it for THEM. That's all there is to it. They don't mind putting the old time miners out of work in the name of progress. Where will these miners find work?

  • Will this mean when they complete MTR on all of the old existing traditional mine sites that they'll start blowing the tops off the remaining mountains that had not been mined in the past to search for coal there too?

  • I am sad.

  • The Short Cutts of Rich Men Will Be Poisoning Us For Years. Not just from coal. You don't have to be a tree hugger to want to have creeks with live fish in them. I'M A RED NECK HILLBILLY TRIED AND TRUE and I say to those who accept MTR to stop worrying if THE LIGHTS ARE ON so much and worry about if you can go fishing, or even sit in the mountains with out gettin' TOXIC Coal Slurry in your ass crack. May they hear the screams and cries of THE GHOSTS OF BUFFALO CREEK in thier dreams forever.

  • I myself am a coal miner from Logan County, WV and know the impacts of Surface "Strip" mining and see the effects of it everyday. The process has never been done correctly in any surrounding areas. Some places near my home have been "reclaimed" at least 20 years ago and still nothing grows there.

  • LMAO i know him!! pat hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahah he was my dads best friend in high school and he married my moms cousin lmaoooo hes a crac head this is hilarious

  • @WVskiman sorry, but you give us americans a bad name.

have you ever heard of "underground mining"?

just because surface mining gets you more blood money doesn't give you the excuse to level a beautiful mountain.

    ban mountain top removal

  • First of all, this commentator is riding around with a guy smoking pot and drinking beer from Boone Co. so you know he is a few apples shy of a bushel. Second, these statistics and mines are very old. There are many regulations in place now to insure quality reclamation. Come on, in the 1960's paint was made from lead and asbestos was frivolous in buildings. Do you see that now? No. So quit driving your 12mpg SUV's and turn your lights and tv's off when you leave your house.

  • P.S. most WVians love their mountains we don't need them turned into anything. These companies just show a complete ignorance to appalachian culture and pride

  • The most idiotic comment I heard was Hamilton referring to flat land like that's what we want in WV. I can say as a WV native and lover that this is pure example of BS. The flatland isn't used and when it is half the places that are built there sink or fall over. There's no agriculture, and we don't need that much development. Development is not a necc bad thing but come on they've cleared enough for multiple manhattans, it's disgusting.

  • keep in mind on this video that nearly all of the places that are shown that have been mined happened before all of the reclamation laws of the late 60's and 70's took place.

  • Some one is missing a great deal of common sense.

The problem is we are exploited by human beings that seem to think we have the right to do what we like with anything on the planet.

What arrogance and how short sighted.

What will they say to their children who inherit the waste land they have made?

  • CORPORATIONS dont have a clue that nature might have a reason for what she creates and where, like rivers and streams. men are playing like God to feel like creators. next it will be the universe they mess with if they have not really blown hole in ozone in the 40's nuke test.

  • Did you ever think for a second that since we are part of nature, corporations were natures way of destroying the world and making way for a new one? Huh buhhhh?

  • I applaud the author for at least looking into reclaimation, which wasn't brought up in the part 1 video. See, the land is not just left for dead.

  • he also didnt bother to mention the families that are fed by coal and coal related jobs these seams of coal cannot be mined in a conventional wan as someone said (digging a hole) if they could i assure you they would be its cheaper it is too close to the surface to be mined that way

  • toxins from mountain top drilling? wtf? ive seen so much crap posted about this video it is really sad that people can watch a short clip and assume they have some idea what they are talking about west virginias only industry is mining they very electricity powering your computers right now come from it ive hauled coal mined and hydroseeded all my life the guy in this video didnt bother mentioning the trees that get planted or the wildlife that is returned

  • Do you know what happens to the debri that is leftover after they blow the tops off? It rolls down the sides of the mountains and into the creeks. The people that live in the valley are on well water. They end up with the toxins in their system which in turn gives them cancer.

I have a two year old cousin that has cancer. The doctors at children's memorial in Chicago think that the cancer is due from the toxins left over from the mountain top drilling.

  • Not true...about the top of mountains rolling into creeks. There are VERY strict rules forbidding that, and there are "catch ditches" or "benches" cut into the sides to prevent that. The above post came from someone who didn't educate on a subject before speaking. Sorry about your cousin, though. Cancer is a very bad thing that happens to even people who live nowhere near coalmines.

  • HOLD IT A F'IN MINUTE Did the oil president guy just blame him stripping away mountaintops because of TERRORISM? LMFAO!!

wow..that guy needs to get a better script writer.

  • you all need to do an episode about how the coal mines cover up all of the serious injuries that occur. My friend just came out of a six month coma due to a faulty brake system on the truck he was driving. they knew that the brakes were bad but they told him to drive the truck or lose his job.

  • My parents are from West Virginia, and I might not be, but I sure as hell care about that state, most of my family's land is being bought out from under us just because the coal companies are allowed to "foreclose" on our land, I say thats pure bullshit, no law says they can do that, their just bribing goverment people and banks so they can!

  • Coal Companies shouldn't have the rights to blow the tops off of something that they don't own. I believe that mountains are public property aren't they?

Excluding myself, everyone in my family was born in WV.

    LadyDemocrat

  • you are making all of us" non hick" people of the beautiful state of west virginia look bad.. dang cmon

  • It's a bummer that these hill billy hicks are too dumb to understand what how they are destroying our an amazing state w/great mountans and killing the environment. Be resourceful and identify a better way...We put a man on the moon, invented google, bla bla bla..but we can't mine coal in a more friendly way, give me a break. Stupid hicks.

  • I'm from Boone country and when I asked that fellow why he was helping those NYC clowns put us down, he said they promised him some showbiz work. It's the Dancin Outlaw all over again.

  • I bet if this guy in the video took a different route then he'd see that the guy that owns this land he is allowed on has 5 rusty cars leaking everything into the soil, 5 old fridges that leak freon into the air, the last 200 tires he took off his car and the skins from all the animals he poached.

  • I can reassure you that you are all wrong about that guy. I know him well and he not involved in polluting our state.

  • what guy...

  • Some of the land that was mined 20 or 30 years ago is the best wildlife habitat I have seen. Some in my area are Bird sanctuaries now.

Near Charleston and old strip mine is now $250,000 to $750,000 homes that doctor own.

  • I'm from WV as well. Sure we don't like to see mountains obliterated. Sure the reclaimed areas might not support oak trees for 300 years. But let's be honest, nobody lives in these areas. The mining companies own it all, the areas are incredibly poor, and tourists don't travel there because there are identical places much closer. I think think this method of mining is more efficient and safer. The reclamation is decent and the water coming from them is usually within the mandated range.

  • my family lives in those areas idiot

  • Fucking retarded pot head's I live in wv quit makein it look bad you damn hillbilly.................

  • The dork that has done this video probably sneaked in. If the locals had spotted him or knew what his young ass was up to he probably would not have left. Some of those old underground mines are deep.

  • messed up...

  • I grew up in West Virginia. I was shocked by this video. I can't believe the damage that has been done. It is irretrievable! Whether you are an evolutionist or a creationist, it is clear that man cannot bring back the mountains.

  • They don't get off of I-77 between Charleston and Beckley. The state doesn't advertise this part of WV. Almost heaven, god's country. How about the dark side of the moon...

  • They are raping this land. And don't let them talk about development on top of these mountains. This isn't the big city. They won't be shopping malls or airports, because everyone is moving away. The mines are running everyone out of southern WV. Airports, malls? Maybe for the tourists, but then again, they don't see this part of the state.

  • I was on my way down to the Raleigh County side and a big backhoe was coming up the mountain, so I had to drive in reverse up hill and find a place to turn around. There was no activity on the mountain that day. They have been strip mining for years. Where everyone lives in the valleys you never see this destruction going on. I got my first taste of how bad it was in 1994 when I flew over this area getting ready to land at Yeager Airport in Charleston.

  • I grew up in WV and left there as a teenager in 1989. I lived in Raleigh County not to far from Kayford in the video. I remember my dad taking us up Kayford Mountain from the Raleigh County side over into Kanawha County back in the early 80's. I took that same drive in 2005 from the Kanawha County side and saw what looked like the moon up there. The entire mountain was gone!

  • very sad, disgusting really.

  • I live in WV. WV has been a democrat controlled state for the last 50 years +. If you don't think that Manchin, Rockefeller, and Robert KKK Byrd control everything that happens here, than you are a fool!

  • I was born and raised in Clarksburg. I shipped out for the Navy when I graduated WI (now Robert C. Byrd.) My political science class attended Clinton's inauguration. I understand the Democratic sentiment, but the State voted for Bush in 2000. The Republican-led House (your new elected Representatives) passed H.R. 2719. That was for the coal companies. Check WV Democrats' website and see who is on Don's payroll. many of these politicians are in office now and are Republican.

  • I live in WV. There are far far more Democrats than Republicans! And, the coal, oil & gas companies call the shots. You picture well how ugly the land is where mountain top removal is done. And, the native trees, etc, cannot grow in the "reclaimed" land's soil.

  • This does not have to be done. Ever heard of strip mining. In wyoming they produce several times more caol with less enviromental damage. W.V is holding onto a dying industry! it's so sad we need to move on with alternate sources of energy. I wish these republican fucks would quit destroting MY KIDS' future.

  • again, this is a democrat ruled state. we've been doing mining like this for years. republicans have nothing to do with it.

  • This is bigger than ruling of a state. So don't give your biast opinion of whether it is democrats or republicans to blame. I'll point one finger to a man you can blame...all the way to the top...thank you "W." He has given us so much, like hell on earth.

  • yes...as far as i can tell, bush is responsible for everything from the appocolypse to the common cold. if only he hadn't of been born, all of this mountaintop removal that started in the 70's would never have happened!

  • This does not have to be done. Ever heard of strip mining))

Roflmao you just showed the world how fucking stuipid you are WTF you think this is other than STRIP Mining jesus christ the ignorant people alive today

  • on another note, i've lived here in the WV for 31 years and for the MOST part, you don't see this kind of stuff. It's been going on for decades now and i PROMISE you, if you visit, you'll have to search for these baren places.

In additione, WV has been run by democrats for over 70 years...this isn't some "republican conspiracy"

  • about 500,000 acres of mountaintop have been leveled in WV. you won't have to search very hard in Logan, Mingo, Kanawha, Boone and Raleigh. I addressed the fallacy that WV is still blue in another post. The appt. of Republican Benjamin Brent to the State Supreme Court was engineered by Don Blankenship. It is a Republican conspiracy, in this case. Big money rides on this issue, and your kids be damned.

  • I know Valley Fills are still being done... I live in Cabin Creek, WV. I ride over and around several of these type strip mines, How can you say it is not practiced? what do you do with a mountain top while you get the coal out? Yes the valley next to the mountain is filled. It is cheap, easy, and you dont have to transport the dirt, just push it in the valley. Its the WV Coal miner way.

  • No, not liberal propoganda. Septics aren't the only people that live on this earth and the effects of what is happening here (West Virginia) will have repercussions everywhere else. Ignorance (yours) is not attractive and certainly not balanced.

  • This is one of the worst, most biased clips on the net. All the knownothing bleeingheart liberal chicks will go wild seeing a mountain that has been mined lol. Mining has gone on for 10,000 years. WV has so many hills that it would take another 10,000 years just to mine 10% of them. No story here, just liberal propaganda, go home folks. And for all the morons that don't know, WV is a Democrap run State. Only the very poor or uneducated vote for Democraps.

  • QFT.... its bad that ther ruining the mountains but i meen it has to be done :/

no point in whining about it . . . .

  • WV was bought by the Republicans. Don Blankenship spent $6 million to get his cronies in office, and they kept up their end of the bargain by passing a rule change to the Clean Water Act which redefined "waste." now toxic heavy metals such as mercury, copper, arsenic, lead and selenium are dumped into your fresh water by the tons. the Bush administration did that for you. keep voting Republican; your children will thank you for their cancer.

  • Thank you for the update on how we're being politically fucked by the republicans who only care about money and not our future.

  • I live in WV and don't know where you get your info but the deomocrats run this state

Please name me one republican other than Shelly Moore Capito. Joe Manchin is our govenor and he is a Democrat from Big Money.

  • please, stop being an areseface -_-........

  • The land gets reclaimed and is in better shape than it was before. I seen land before they stip mined it .

Old refrigerators and tires and junk. Once they get done it is great habitat for wildlife.

  • oops

  • no point of fearing to end up in hell if we create it for us in this life.

  • Q - Is the regrowth strong enough to prevent mudslides from heavy rains?

  • "It was a mountain at one time, covered in thick forest, been raped now" AS THEY SHOW THE DEER! Man, not to mention all of the growth that has restarted in areas.

Valley fills are a non-existent practice anymore or did you forget to mention that?

  • There are deer in my suburb near Columbia, SC. I see Publix parking lot. Just because there are deer doesn't mean much.

  • I would be interested to know the energy source used to produce these videos.

Hydroseeding is a mix of grass seed, starting fertilizers, mulch (cellulose fibers).

If you want to see how fast land is reclaimed after an intense mining operation; the copper country in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan are covered with beautiful forests, grasses and inhabited by deer, moose, wolves and a plethora of other wildlife...from just 100 years ago or less.

  • Ultimately it is up to each of us to "get back to the garden".

We must simplify our lives to a local village level and make do with simple things to stir the heart. Give up this idea "material things make me happy" mentality. Stop going to malls for your few real needs. Yes.

Buy shoes from a local shoe maker. Buy milk from a local dairy farmer. When the demand for energy decreases the rape of the land for the energy will decrease.

  • If only you could get people to do that. Sigh.

If I could keep my music I'd be fine with living like that haha.

  • Thanks for this important report - makes me wonder if that exec - Chris Hamilton - isn't fucking retarded by his own greed - I feel sorry for his kids - but more sorry for the honest people he's exploiting and their children. Thanks for allowing me to express my indignation - win-win reconfiguration my ass.

  • Take, take, take.... thats all these people are doing and its a shame that some of you people think that this is totally normal.

  • The environment does have an amazing ability to heal itself...over millions of years. The good news is that humans will die as a result of their own environmental destruction and then the earth really will have a chance to heal.

  • Well, maybe they can change the state slogan to "West Virginia: Wild and Plunderable"

  • can you just d othe underground mining to get the coal and save the moutains's coal companys don't give a shit bout the mountains they just care about the profits

  • Boone County??? Hey! I'm in Williamson in Mingo Co.

  • this is bad and another bad trip with our current leadership in our goverment democrate or republican its all the same party. Theives let vote another one in people! Absolute power absolute corruption

  • Hey Buddy - Born in Williamson 1951. Live in Chicago now.

  • The mining industry, like the oil industry, is lead by some of the most pathetic scum mankind has to offer. These people should be KILLED before they kill the rest of us. Everything that comes out of these people's mouths is a lie bent toward preserving the insane profits they are seeing from this destructive process. The areas they have destroyed will be devoid of wildlife for hundreds of years in the future. Thanks George Bush. Thanks capitalism.

  • it isnt those peoples problems, its their job, they are just trying to make it, its the government. They just want theirs, and dont think about the future at all.

  • Comments like this that call for the death of the individuals diminish the important message here and turn people off to what's most important...finding an economical and environmentally friendly form of energy supply. It's also not all Bush's fault either. This form of mining (a type of strip mining) has been used for decades.

  • You're very naive. But, this really isn't the forum for this type of debate, so I'll just not post on youtube again.

  • capitalism is what makes youtube work...just thought you should know

  • Yes thank you I'm not an idiot.

  • fuck the plant, i'd rather be six fett buried in a womb full ov scabs

  • did anyone else hear a woman crying around the 1:00 minute mark?

  • yup i heard it...

  • the coal guy is lying, his face is bright red and hes smiling sort ov

  • I'm greatfull that there are people that are out there doing things about this problem. what is going to happen to our planet if nobody cares?

  • im gonna assasinate the guy in charge of this fuckin pointless destruction of what god gave to us on earth

  • good plan

  • U american ppl are maybe the most aware of earth issues, dont let ur country become a wasteland.

  • I'm sure all of you making these comments about how horrible this is have made a point to stop using electricity.

    ya....

  • You keep forgetting you want to eat the steak, but don't want to see the cow shot. Now,if you stop mountain top removal, you wil stop a cheaper way to make electricity. That little thing that you use to power your camera to make the worthless propaganda in this video.Just remember the man who has pastured well above 100 head of cattle on reclaimed land that was mountaintop mined when you reach into the supermarket's meat cooler next time.

  • Well, that's not entirely true! Off course most ways to generate electricity are very environmentally unfriendly, but it shouldn't have to be like this!!

They should choose the lesser of two evils, which, I think, in this case, should be mining without taking the tops of mountains off, but just digging, I guess!!

  • The biggest problem about this is everyone who is planning all this shit are a bunch of old guys who future in this state they wont see, but hows it going to effect people my age?? They dont give a shit,

  • Oh God...not the mountains...

There has to be a way to generate energy with more earth-friendly ways.

  • Sure there are ways - it's wind power, solar power, water power. Clean and environmentally friendly. Big problem is, there's no money to be made once it's set up. It's all about a small handful of people making gobs of money on this and crapping on their grandchildren in the process. Native Americans have a saying - that whatever you do on this earth will affect the next 7 generations. But these suits, they're all about the here and now. Screw the rest of us.

  • okay so let's work on other energy sources, but more importantly let's stop using so much energy in the first place. the bulk of energy is used by industry for totally non-essential production. we don't need any more crap in our already overflowing-with-crap lives. what we need is clean water, clean air, thriving ecosystems...what a concept....

  • i'm afraid this guy's dry wit will be lost on the majority of youtubers, and they'll take what he says on face value....

  • scripple: I'm afraid you are correct. I think most people who watch youtube will not catch the sarcasm in the last statement on this video.

But I sure got it. Make no mistake.

  • You GUYS KNOW THAT WHEN THEY FINISH STRIP MINING, THEY REPLANT ALL THE TREES AND PUT BACK ALL THE DIRT THAT THEY MOVE. THEY HAVE TO, ITS STATE LAW

  • They can't put back the bio diversity, the old growth, the ecosystem of what they distroyed.

  • mesolithic forests take 10000 years to evolve. when they are gone, they are gone. you can't 'replant' a mesolithic forest. which side are you on? it amazes me how many people defend the crooks who are destroying our planet. they've trained you well.

  • your absolutely right!!! im sure glad that they demonstrated EXACTLTY what you're refering to in the ending of this video...dumb fuckin' hill-billy.

  • This brings to mind a childhood story of Mr. McMillen's mountain. (I'm not sure if that's the right name.) Anyway, he and his wife wanted the mountain moved, and then realized all the things the mountain was good for. Sadly, our world will not turn out like the story. He had the mountain rebuilt and lived happyily ever after....

  • well im from VA and considering how close WV is to me i dont see state lines but i do travel to WV often for the beautiful untouched mountains and rivers that you can't find anywhere else and slowly you do see mountain top removal coal mines each time you go so keep on fighting alternative fuels like wind power and ethanol fuel.would you rather dam the valleys for hydro power?at least you could run some 2 cycle jetskis and fuck up the environment somemore all the while "enjoying the outdoors"!

  • To noolaxboola- West Virginia and Virginia are different states and have been ever since 1863.

  • How the hell do you rebuild a mountain? Mountains are suppose to be natural not man made. I was born in Chicago but my family are all from WV. My dad said that when he went home for a visit that he didn't recognize the place. He thought that he was in the wrong state because the mountains that he remembered were gone.

    Jerks!
